Had an amazing summer morning at Kafka. Iced latte hit the spot - juuuust right on the milk. A dab more would have been too much. The granola was delicious , never thought I’d say this but honestly maybe a touch too much granola! Yogurt in the mix was ok, wish it had been more of a Greek style hearty yogurt. Really nice energy here and enjoyed the music.

Went for the limited edition KoolFest and I loved it! It was a lychee tea with matcha cold foam and it was delicious! It was refreshing and the tea was brewed just right, not too weak or strong. The foam was a nice touch. The interior is so cool with outside inside seating. The ceiling had cool colors, the tables and chairs were cool. Overall a very cool atmosphere. Was not too busy when I went, the staff are nice and my drink came out pretty quickly. Even the cup is aesthetic! I will have to come back and get their regular items!

I absolutely love Kafka’s! Between the two locations, my experience at the Richards spot truly stood out—not because the coffee or food quality differs (they’re both consistently excellent), but because of the overall vibe. The Richards location boasts an incredible, eye-catching triangular structure with all-glass, geometric, and colorful accents beside a park, creating a lively, energetic atmosphere enhanced by great music. The staff at both spots are wonderfully enthusiastic and kind, which only adds to the charm. It’s an experience that makes you fall in love with the place every time!

Guys, I found glass in my coffee…I’m sorry, but it’s too much. I almost ate it and I have no idea if I swallowed some other very small pieces before. Me and my friend ordered just latte and this is what I got. My day was ruined, I was so stressed and it was late, so I couldn’t communicate with them. When I got a message back, I got only apologies and explanations that it’s impossible at their place and my refund, 10$. They were happy to get off with $10) That’s insane…I expected this place will be a new love for me, unfortunately I went through hell for 1.5 days thinking I ate glass! Place itself looks really good, but now it doesn’t matter!

Kafka’s is hands down one of the best coffee spots in town! Their matcha is top-tier—smooth, perfectly balanced, and never too bitter. The pastries? Absolutely delicious, always fresh, and the perfect complement to their drinks. But the real star for me is their White Lavender Mocha—it’s pure perfection in a cup! The floral notes of lavender blend beautifully with the rich, creamy white chocolate, making every sip an absolute treat. I go back for it every time, and it never disappoints. If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re seriously missing out! Highly recommend Kafka’s for anyone who loves high-quality drinks and a cozy atmosphere. Can’t wait for my next visit!

Google
A very cute coffee shop, that serves very tasty sandwiches and breakfast options. Staff is super nice. Last but not least: blazingly fast WiFi.

Google
Horrible service and the food is not as good as it used to be when they first opened. I tried to give them a chance but each visit just got worse. Constant issues with making my beverage correctly (ex. barista would add cow milk when I clearly indicated that I am lactose intolerant). My Westcoast Chicken Cesar salad was made so poor, they didn’t even bother to chop up the kale leaves and a few ingredients were missing. The staff is extremely rude and don’t seem to care but expect you to tip them. I sent an email to the manager with my concerns and photos but no one ever got back to me.

Google
This is a cozy spot for a quick coffee break. The coffee drinks were enjoyable—especially the mocha, which stood out with its rich flavor. The cookie, however, was a bit underwhelming and not the best you’ll find. The space is quite small, making it more suitable for individuals or small groups.

Yelp
Kafka's is tucked inside a funky, architecturally interesting building that immediately sets the tone. The interior has a rustic charm with lots of wood accents, though the tables are packed in fairly close, which makes it feel a bit crowded. The huge windows are a big win, flooding the space with light and offering a relaxing view of the park outside. The coffee itself was solid--smooth and well-prepared. For breakfast, we tried the Eggtopia, which came on a fluffy milk bun that was light yet satisfying. It's a nice option if you're looking for something simple to pair with your drink. One thing to note: there are no washrooms inside. You'll need to use the public facilities outside, which weren't the cleanest. Tip: plan ahead if that's important to you.

Yelp
Well i wasn't able to satisfy my chocolate fix at kasama so i opted for an iced decaf mocha no ice here at Kafka's. I was not at all disappointed. This was so yummy and chocolatey!!! Lovely indoor outdoor seating options and friendly service. This place is a winner. Hubby enjoyed his cold brew as well!

Yelp
This is some dam fine coffee. They only have one type of coffee brew going in the morning which I find bewildering as surely people have a preference, whether it be more of a classic breakfast blend or a dark roast for those that like the taste of their coffee beans more to the bitter side. None the less, I was in luck as I always go for the dark roast, and they were brewing Columbian with hints of: Cherry Cola, Black Tea, and Dark Chocolate. The coffee was top grade, not watery at all, and packed a very high-quality bite to it. There is usually only one person working here and I feel for them as the place can get crowded very quickly. My girlfriend tried the matcha tea and she was a fan. I have heard from other yelpers that this coffee and tea spot can be a little bit pricier than the other coffee spots however the design of the place is awesome, and they do not blast music like in every other place my girlfriend and I stopped into for morning coffee that week. I have not been to their other location but the one on Richards street I highly recommend you give it a try. And as always people SYOY!!!

Yelp
I enjoyed my time grabbing some coffee here and working on my laptop outside. I was definitely drawn by the name and the way that they incorporate some surrealism into their decor. It's a uniquely designed cafe with fun interior touches. They make good use of the space, although it feels a bit cramped. As soon as a mother sat a coughing child down next to me, I headed outside. The interior is a little dingy, which took away a little bit. A cool space should be cared for a bit better, IMO. I like that the location is in this family centered area and you can watch families interacting in the spaces around, such as the little water spouts coming out of the ground or the park next door. A light ambiance for the background of your work. I had a cortado and the coffee was really good. I was tempted to grab a bag but funnily enough, didn't want to like it and then have a hard time getting more! The service was typical for a coffee shop, or I would say friendly. I definitely think this place is worth your time.

Yelp
Very disappointed! I went to try their special Elphaba matcha hot chocolate for the hot chocolate festival and it was nothing as advertised. No matcha foam, very sweet and liquid chocolate, no matcha taste, such a bit of matcha powder on top. The bitterness of the matcha should have made it a great drink but clearly not enough matcha if any. Nothing like in the pictures. Clearly I won't come back.

Yelp
Cute cafe in the midst of downtown by a relatively new park/art installation. The interior of the shop is vibrant, and is oddly shaped which was cool. I went in the middle of summer, and it was jam packed. Staff were friendly enough, but very busy. I got a cold flat white, and a cold oat milk latte. Don't remember the exact price, probably around the ~$6 mark. Swapping to oat milk was one of the pricier places I've been, I think it was about a $1 or so. Overall a nice experience.

Yelp
met up with a friend for lunch at 12:30 pm on a rainy monday, and there was only one other person in the cafe at the time. it didn't take long for the place to fill up during the lunch hour crowd and people seeking refuge from the rain. kafka's is located on richards and smithe, the site of the newest downtown park, and opens out into an urban plaza. this park is an oasis in the heart of downtown vancouver, and is further enhanced with having a locally roasted coffee shop that offers all day breakfast, lunch, baked goods, and soft serve ice cream (seasonal). it is evident that a lot of thought, planning, and money has gone in to this urban development, it's innovative and sustainably designed. i had a latte and their avocado toast with pickled onions, arugula and chilli oil on a sourdough bread. this place is a great alternative to starbucks, and other similar coffee shops in the downtown area, as it offers a nice respite from the hustle and bustle of a concrete jungle. kafka's in the park is opened seven days a week from 7am to 6pm.

Yelp
Kafka's Coffee & Tea is a really funky cool like dat concept coffee (& tea) shop. I first came across Kafka's at their Gastown location. See my pix! This new location is tied in to the urban park here at Richard's St & Smithe. It is a tiny spot but has plenty of outdoor seating attached to the park. Oh & do go see my pix & review for this Vancouver park, yet to be officially named. Coffee & Tea are highly subjective to each individuals taste buds. Your particular flavour might not appeal to me & vice versa, so do give Kafka's & try & don't be afraid to try something new here if it's your first time. Kafka's is a locally owned business = #supportlocal

Yelp
I had a nice experience with the GNW Kafka's a while back, and I liked this one too. I really like the design of the building - it's colourful and the eccentric geometrical design is artsy, but it also has a bit of an earthy feel with the tree stump tabletops. Although it's a small building, the seating capacity inside is actually greater than I would've expected since it's seats all along the walls. There's also a handful of patio tables, and the location by the park is pretty relaxed. It would be a nice spot to chill out for a while. I got a Not-Meatballs sub and an alfajor. No drink this time. Great food. The impossible meatballs themselves are pretty good (lots of flavour!) and the sauce they dressed them in was delicious, with nice fresh bread. And the alfajor cookies were so soft! Pricing is kind of middle of the road. I have seen better value, I've also seen worse value. Not bad for downtown. The baristas were friendly and my food was ready pretty quickly. The weird thing, and they do this at the other cafe too, is I don't understand why they wrap the sandwiches in heavy-duty paper and tape it shut when you order to dine in. It's not the kind of paper that you can use to keep the sandwich together - you have to unwrap it completely to eat it. It's a small detail, but it seems wasteful. That's my only real complaint - otherwise the place has left me with a good impression and I'd gladly come back for a quick but quality lunch or snack.

Yelp
Cute cafe on the corner of Richards and Smithe next to Rainbow Park. Love the lighting and funky design. Latte was nice and smooth. The oat milk charge was quite pricey though.

Yelp
Nice spot for a bite. We had the London Fog as a beverage and an Eggtopia (maybe a bit greasy but that can be good) and a chicken shawarma sandwich. A tasty light lunch. Servers were efficient and it wasn't too loud or crowded.

Yelp
Let me just get to the point right away with this cute little coffee/eatery. If service is important to you and you're watching your $....then you may not want to try this place. If you're looking to grab n go with money to spend then....sure check it out. This place from afar looks quite enticing. The decor, architecture and open patio is luring and that's what happened to me. I was looking to grab lunch and this place called me over.....the place not the people....keep reading... When I walked in, there was a cold reception from the front staff. They were clearly overwhelmed, but it was more than that....they were just not very friendly. The lady looked like she didn't want to be there, was annoyed and wanted to go to the beach. The guy working next to her at the coffee section was of the same energy and attitude. Clearly looked at me and not a single smile, no hello, no have you been helped...nothing. What made it even worse, in terms of service, was when his buddy walked in there was the disposition he should've had with every guest that walks in. Anyway, moving on..... Also they didn't know their own menu. I ordered the Glory Bowl and asked the lady, other than Chicken and fake meat were there any other proteins I could add? and she recommended egg, which I later found out it came with already, so if I had listened to her suggestion I would've paid for and had extra egg on the bowl. When my bowl was ready a kitchen staff member came up and called my name, set it down and just left...without making sure that it got to the right person and the girl who took my order was still in a trance and the coffee guy...well he was clearly busy entertaining his buddy. I grabbed my bowl and left....with no thank you for coming..have a nice day....hope to see you soon.....I could've grabbed the wrong one and left and none of them would've been the wiser. The Glory Bowl itself was pretty good. Daring pairing of fresh ingredients that surprisingly worked nicely together. The only suggestion I would have for the bowl is to increase the portion of the quinoa as it is an ingredient not a garnish. The bowl was $14 and with added chicken it was an extra $4, so it's quite pricy compared to sit down restaurants and their entree salads and health bowls in the area. But, I think what struck the most for me was this: When you look at the place from across the street, you get a sense of a trendy, relax, summery, fun and light place in beautiful Yaletown to grab coffee and a bite, but when you walk in you feel a stormy cold chill.....simply coming from staff, that I'm sure mean well, but might want to warm up the place a bit with some adjustments in their service and attitude. It's a shame that a place would sabotage repeat business merely due to staff service. When you're charging those prices the guest is entitled to more than...here's your order...do you want a receipt? To be frank, I've gotten better service from MacDonalds. Everything considered I would not return.

Yelp
The coffee is very good. The device is pretty miserable and extraordinarily slow. A good variety of the usual snacks (cookies etc) but nothing outstanding. There are better options within close proximity of this cafe.

Yelp
I enjoyed the colorful sunny corner space, great cappuccino and delicious, amazing avocado toast. The service was friendly and fast.

Yelp
Amazing avocado toast!! It's in a perfect location and the inside is stunning. Great customer service and even better coffee. Will definitely be coming back. This was a great breakfast stop on our walk.

Yelp
I'm not sure what people are complaining about. This cafe has been and continues to be one of the best in Vancouver. I'm sorry, but you get what you pay for, this isn't Starbucks! I like the new location amongst the playground and spray park, although I will always miss the Main St. location.

Yelp
Quaint little spot in a modern city park. Seats onsite are very comfortable. Cappuccinos are of good Italian quality and they serve a couple of breakfast options. Friendly staff.

Yelp
I had been a fan of the Main street location before they closed down, hence why I was excited they were opening one here. But this time, the experience was subpar. Location is great but that's about it. I wonder if the staff understands the difference between being knowledgeable and condescending. My guess is nope! If rude snobbish baristas are what you are looking for to start your day, then by all means don't let me stop you! But I will take my business elsewhere, as there are plenty of better cafés nearby (Heirs Pears, Small Victory...). The overpriced baked goods and espresso drinks left a bad taste in my mouth, though it's probably partly due to the attitude! If things don't change soon, I can definitely see another location closing down yet again.

Yelp
Great coffee and great covered outdoor/indoor space with comfortable seating. The food menu is small but high quality.
