Tucked away in no man’s land between Tokyo station and Akihabara, this is a must try for anyone keen to get an amazing bowl of udon. Not without reason that they’ve been in the Michelin guide for three consecutive years. The bukkake udon were delicious, chewy and exactly what you need after a day in crowded downtown Tokyo. You’ll have to add the shoyu, which differs from regular one not only by color but also by the hint of yuzu.

OCT 2024 Ordered a small kamatama udon with butter and two sides which took about 15 minutes to arrive. The udon has a soft springy chew and the raw egg and butter added a rich creaminess which was quite tasty. There was also a side of soup stock to add little by little to change up the flavor; it was savory and slightly sweet. As for the sides, the chicken tempura was coated in a pretty thick batter and the meat was thin so it was not satisfying; and although the kakiage was huge, it was slightly over cooked and very greasy; tasted mostly of sweet onion. Overall udon was good at an affordable price but the sides were a little disappointing.

Lovely udon. Absolutely recommend. I think you need cash to pay so be careful. You will probably have to wait a little but it is really fast and is totally worth it

This is a Michelin recommended restaurant specializing in Sanuki udon. We came at 11:30 so no line. Ordered by the machine near the entrance. Shown to a long clean solid wood table. Within few minutes our udon arrived, my pork udon was nicely cooked and with perfect texture and consistency. The soup was hot and tasty. We were in and out of there in 10 minutes. 👍👍

Two of us went at 13:00 on a Thursday and there was no queue. One of the staff members kindly helped us with the ordering machine. Had both the curry and meat udon, with the curry being our favourite. Food came within a minute of sitting down. Would definitely come back!

Passed by this small eatery one night after work, I was told by my Japanese colleague this place is popular. So I decided to visit on my last day at Kanda. It is conveniently located across Grand Central Hotel. I was so glad to chance by this shop. I ordered a small tan tan udon (which already includes an onsen tamago), an extra onsen tamago unknowingly and their 赤天. Food was served promptly, staff was attentive and warm. They are thoughtful to provide dashi for customer to customise their sauce. The tan tan meat sauce is flavourful and their shichimi brings the udon to new dimension. It was really yummy! I hope to try out their kake udon and ika geso tempura when I return to Kanda again. It was a wonderful experience dining in. Oh yes I went in at about 11:10am. Avoid the queues and arrive earlier 👍🏻

I visited this place after watching a Japanese actress to recommend this restaurant on her YouTube channel. The noodle was so chewy and it went well with the soup, although it tasted a little bit salt to me. Guests are supposed to buy tickets through a vending machine which is just next to the entrance, and hand them over to staff. Even if you are confused with how it works, you don’t need to be worried. Staff are kind enough to help you before you ask for help.

Delicious and efficient, popped in and was provided with an English menu by the friendly staff. I ordered off the machine with some help, don’t stress if you don’t know Japanese. The meal came out within minutes (Udon with meat large) and was delicious. It was also devoured in minutes. Great place I’ll be returning!
