amazing experience and delicious traditional Japanese wagashi!
Can’t recommend this place enough- the staff were so kind and professional, the service 10/10.
I ordered the 「抹茶生菓子セット」 and it was just beautifully presented. After yiu sre seated, you are offered tea and a small dry wagashi made of sugar. After ordering, a staff member brought me the selection on wagashi sweets to choose from. I wanted to try every single one!
The sweet itself was delicious and beautiful, an amazing smoothness and richness that beautiful complimented the hot matcha (one of the best I’ve had I might add!)
Planning on coming back to experience this place again, thank you for the amazing experience

One of famous Japanese traditional sweets/ tea store. Famous item, Kuzuri is delicious.
There are lot of other sweets too. Tea room open at 10am, might have to wait when crowded. Serve Japanese tea unlimitedly with all the foods. Located in crowded Gion area.

I decided to try their specialty, kuzukiri—noodles with syrup. Upon arrival, you're welcomed with cold tea and a mini sugar sweet. The noodles arrived in a stunning set of dishes, masterfully served on ice with a separate bowl of syrup—I chose the brown sugar syrup. It was an absolute discovery—silky, soft, cold noodles paired with the sweet syrup were incredible.
The service was outstanding, and the café itself is beautiful, featuring tall ceilings and a full-height glass window overlooking a garden.
An amazing confectionary shop! An incredible experience, highly recommended!

Delicious sweets! They have a sweets shop out front and a cafe at the back. As soon as you are seated, you are served tea which was delicious with some sweets. We then ordered the warabi mochi and the transparent noodles with brown sugar sauce - both were great and had the right amount of sweetness. The service was excellent.

Absolutely amazing. Totally worth a visit for that old school Japanese dessert experience.
I have visited this shop on every trip back to Kyoto in past few years and it always hits the spot.

It’s worth checking out if you’ve never had this kind of traditional sweets. Personally I found the red bean desserts far too cloying, but overall everything was very well done. The warabimochi and kuzukiri were my favourites.
As a party of 6 we had had no wait going in at around 2pm and had occupied a table for over two hours. When they needed it back the staff was very polite and respectful about it. Good communication all around.

The warabi mochi was thick and elastic, but tender when chewed, silky and has great flavor, especially coasted with the aromatic roasted soybean powder. However, it wasn't the best that I had
Kuzukiri was refreshing, noodles were chewy and silky, dipped in a just sweet and aromatic molasses sugar syrup
Red bean millet zenzai was a let down. The glutinuous millet wasn't chewy stretchy enough, the red bean paste was average in taste. The zenzai from Umezono located at Reimon was way superb, definitely uncomparable
Service was very good. Staff was very attentive, tea was always filled quickly after emptied
The place was filled with Japanese tourist and locals, but I don't the quality of the dessert match the price given, probably are paying more on the nice slight luxurious interior design
Points: 6/10

An absolute gem of a place. I had the transparent noodles with the brown sugar sauce that was delicious. The restaurant is toward the back and is very peaceful and tranquil. The staff is attentive and welcoming. I highly recommend checking this place out on your trip to Kyoto!
