We stayed at this hotel for the last two days of our trip to Sri Lanka, so we wanted to choose something special.
The location, the hotel, and the villas was beautiful—surrounded by nature, with clean rooms and a well-maintained environment—but not more special than other high-level hotels.
We were very disappointed when we realized, and then confirmed, that we had paid double the actual price of our hotel was and that our payment did not include an all-inclusive package. We therefore asked to cancel our reservation, but we were told it was not possible. We then asked for a discount or at least for one dinner or lunch to be included in our stay, just to feel a bit better about the situation. Unfortunately, the manager talked at length without offering any positive solution.
In the end, we stayed at the hotel for two days, paying double the price, with nothing included. One day we skipped dinner, the next day we skipped lunch, and we did not receive any discount or even a small gesture of goodwill upon departure.
This situation made us feel misled and uncomfortable for even having to ask for something, and also disappointed with ourselves for having paid so much for an early reservation during the low season, only to have to pay separately for everything again. For these reasons, we will not return to this hotel. Unfortunately, we left Sri Lanka with negative emotions.
