This might be the nicest place in Cihangir, perhaps even on earth.
Entering this place is not much different than entering the kitchen of your house. Except someone else cooks. And washes the dishes. And it's bigger (at least from my kitchen). You can sit here in the morning to sip your coffee and read your newspaper, listening to the sound of the little fountain in the middle of the backyard, or maybe you don't need the caffeine and you want to try one of the many herbal teas -try the fresh mint tea with lemon!- or perhaps you want to get even more comfortable and have your cookies with milk.
Especially the choices for breakfast are all delicious, you can have musli with yoghurt, or a traditional turkish breakfast -the tulum cheese tastes just like it should- with salad, or perhaps an omelette.. And most importantly you don't need to rush, everybody needs a good sleep on a Sunday, and that's why you can have breakfast until late hours. After all, the name says it all: the number six is "altı" in Turkish, and "kahvaltı" is the turkish word for breakfast, which literally means "under the coffee".
That doesn't mean that you can't come here for lunch or dinner! The sandwiches and wraps are delicious and healthy, the soup they make during the winter can keep you warm on those freezing days of winter, and the deserts: oh la la! The hot chocolate cake may take sometime to be prepaped (so you might want to order it while in the middle of your meal) but it's more than worth the wait.
The people working here are always willing to make you happy -don't take it personally if they are not smiling that much, that's just their style! So if you want something that is not exactly on the menu, just ask for it and chances are they will make it!
All the ingredients used are organic and you can tell they are super-fresh. They order them specifically from many different places of Turkey, so it is impossible to find the same at your local market. If you are a vegetarian, you won't have a problem finding something to eat here, since there is plenty of choices that will suit your needs.
The prices are reasonable comparing to other places in the area, this is Cihangir after all!
If you are going for breakfast on a Saturday or a Sunday, you might want to go a bit early because there's a chance that you won't find a table. Or a bit late, that will also work.
It is impossible not to love this place, you can only feel like home here!
