At the cafe, I was looking for a bite to eat as I didn't have lunch yet while my husband was looking for his usual dose of caffeine to get him through his day. We both quickly fell in love with the cafe even before trying their food & drink because of its chic and clean atmosphere.
I found it interesting that the cafe had lots of espresso/coffee tools for sale and I had fun looking through them while waiting for our order. Overall, the cafe has a warm vibe and hubby and I both knew that this place would become one of our favourites as long as our coffee and food were satisfactory!
Their full menu can be found on their website. They also have a separate weekend brunch!
Though Kahve Cafe has locations in New York City, I don't think Vancouver's cafe is a franchise or related to NYC's cafe brand, as both have very distinct and different websites.
Kahve brews caffeine from two sources: Elysian Coffee Roasters from our own city, Vancouver and Phil & Sebastian Coffee from our neighbouring city, Calgary. We haven't tried Elysian Coffee yet, but we must now that hubby and I have tried it at Kahve!
Because I don't drink lots of caffeine during my pregnancy, I opted to try one of their teas. I asked if they brewed their teas iced, and to my delight, they were all available iced! Originally, I was going to have an iced peppermint tea, but they showed me that they had two iced teas already cold steeped and ready to drink: Grapefruit tea and Peach green tea. After hearing about this, I changed my mind and decided to try their iced grapefruit tea instead.
What I liked about their iced teas were the fact that they were all unsweetened. I hate it when it's sweetened without telling me! Because grapefruit tea was already fruity, no extra sweetness or sugar was needed at all. It was really refreshing and delicious.
My sandwich was warmed up, grilled, and plated beautifully for me. I was also happy that it was brought over to me to where I was sitting, rather than calling out that my sandwich was ready. The sandwich was really fresh and also quite delicious. It did a great job of filling me up and it made me want to come back for their weekend brunch!
Though I don't have a picture of hubby's coffee, well, it was only a regular Americano in a mug... Anyway, hubby was pretty content that it wasn't too acidic to his taste. As both of us were satisfied, we would definitely recommend the cafe to anyone who loves cafe hopping or coffee in general. It's a perfect place to enjoy an afternoon over a cup of coffee, whether that be by yourself, with a friend... Kahve is across from a small park so you have great visuals as well. I'm not sure if the cafe has washrooms - I didn't ask, but I reckon they have one though it didn't really look like it. And though it has free wifi (via Telus), it's not the best place to work - no outlets really anywhere! Make sure your laptop is fully charged!
