Got a hot macadamia nut latte as well as an açaí bowl here while visiting in January. Both very good. Loved this latte. It was so yummy and warm. Perfect for the start of the day. The honey that was drizzled on the top of my açaí bowl was very good. The staff here were also so nice and friendly. One of the workers asked us about where we were traveling from and how our trip was going which was sweet.

Google
My husband and I wanted to grab a quick drink before catching the sunrise at Sandy’s and we saw online that the nearest open coffee shop was Kai coffee. We did not expect anything special but we were wrong. The coffee was hands down the BEST coffee I’ve ever had. Ryan was our barista and he was a super sweet guy who really knows his stuff and served us with a smile. Also he poured me an amazing latte art in my Kai latte. We are definitely coming back to try the food. After our experience I read online that Kai coffees slogan was aloha in every cup and I believe that Kai coffee has the people who make the place special with aloha.

Google
I have been getting coffee from Kai for few years now. Since their new staff have come in, the coffees aren't the same. I always order Kai latte, since last 4 times it isn't the same. No macnut flavor. The price went up, flavor went down. I would appreciate if you give same service as you charge. $8 is a good price for a coffee.

Google
Great coffee, food, and service! They give you extra frappe to try and everything tasted amazing.

Google
This coffee was delicious and simple! I really enjoyed it! This is a good spot for those waking up in this neighborhood and wanna grab a cup to get their day started!

Google
Ammmmmmazing!!!!! I tried both of the new items, lavender latte it was perfect! It wasn’t too sweet, which I normally is cautious of flavor for that reason. But it was extremely pleasant & flavorful. We also tried the new egg bake item, it was yummy!!! The barista was so nice, & helpful!! The owner (thinking) was also extremely friendly & offered us the WiFi password.

Google
Mac nut latte, hibiscus & elderberry tea, and cold brew - all iced. Delicious and the man who helped us was kind and welcoming. Bathroom was a little sketchy, but I think the establishments in the plaza share it, so it’s not something they can totally control. Thank you!

Google
Best latte on the island! They know what they are doing here for sure. Temperature and art was spot on.

Yelp
LOVE Kai coffee! Get it now away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Tucked away in the back of Hawaii Kai, this location has plenty of free parking, lots of seating inside and outside, and the same level of quality service at their other locations. I recommend their signature Kai latte. As someone who takes their coffee black this latte is a "coffee is candy" level of sweet which is a nice treat! I have yet to try something from their food menu but lmk what I should try!

Yelp
Requested the Deluxe Breakfast Sandwich and a Long Black coffee. The former has bacon, ham, eggs on a bun with cheddar and a garlic aioli. Solid brekkie sammie. Latter - popularized in Australia - is an espresso shot ( in the USA it will probably be a doppio ) poured over hot water. Coffee snobs will say it is better as it allows for more of the crema to stay intact...personally, it is marginally more flavorful as I do not have a sophisticated palate. Service is excellent. Parking stalls are plentiful in this sleepy Kalama Valley Shopping Center.

Yelp
My beautiful wife and I wanted a quiet cafe experience, and wanted to check out Kai Coffee just behind Koko Crater in Kalama Valley. The space is bright and airy with a few outside tables. We both grabbed a coffee (wife got a cold brew and I got drip), which was very tasty. We also wanted some grinds, so I got the Kai Club and sweetie got a breakfast wrap (kalua pig). Both were so good! We ended up grabbing an 8oz bag of beans ($30!) and it was considered money well spent. We were happy to support a local business, and will definitely return!

Yelp
Probably the best latte I have ever had! Macadamia for the win and service was excellent.

Yelp
Popped in after a hike nearby and we were delightfully surprised at the lack of crowds as well as the cheerful and polite demeanor of the employee!! Would def recommend and go back!

Yelp
Chai latte was very milk heavy, so the chai flavor didn't shine! Order came out quickly though. Really kind servers and spots for indoor and outdoor seating. Next time I order here, might just have to stick to coffee.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE Kai coffee. I usually go to the one in kapahulu but the traffic is tiresome. So I'm so happy they opened one in Hawaii kai. Tons of free parking in a private and safe parking lot. I don't need to park on the street now! Seating area inside and outside in a completely shaded area and air conditioning inside. Very clean bathrooms that you will need to ask a key for. Staff was kind and happy. They were very busy with only 2 people working. I went around 10:00am on a Saturday. I ordered my usual, iced kai latte and it never disappoints. They have hot foods and bakery items something for everyone's appetite. I will be here often!

Yelp
It's awesome that Kai Coffee opened in the Kalama Valley shopping center, bringing a little more life into the sleepy plaza. Kai coffee is a local chain with a few other locations on island. At this location, there is ample parking and plenty of shaded seating outside to sit a while and enjoy your drink, perfect for a coffee date or if you're waiting for your car next door. On our visit, we walked over from Kalama Valley park just a few blocks away. We decided to try an iced macadamia nut latte and a blueberry scone. Prices are a bit high, but our drink and scone were both delicious and hit the spot. They do sell coffee beans here as well!

Yelp
I usually don't write reviews but I 100% recommend! We had the sweetest girl serve us (Alyssa)! She has such a friendly & welcoming presence. We tried the seasonal sandwiches & they were 10/10! The coffees were also very smooth. I don't drink black coffee but my friend got the cold brew & I would've ordered one for myself too if I didn't already get the Kai coffee (which was also really good) our big backs also got every single pastry which all were 10/10 LOL TLDR; service was unmatched & food was amazing

Yelp
A beautiful hidden gem! I got the Kai latte & my husband got a iced black coffee. Both really nice, there's lots of seating indoors and outdoors. The service is great, very kind and knowledgeable! We love coming here with our puppy!

Yelp
Good coffee. Nice place. Great service. Both the boss and the young guy were super nice to the customers. The only thing I didn't like was an interaction I saw my first time there when the boss was being mean to the young guy working behind the counter. The boss was outside talking to a couple of customers and when he came back in, he was annoyed at the guy that had a couple of orders that were not completed yet. There was a line of customers ordering (7:30 am on a Saturday) so the guy had to take their orders. No one else was back there making drinks so the guy couldn't help it. I think no need to be mean to the guy. He wasn't slacking off or anything. Please be nice to your employees. They work hard for you!

Yelp
The perk in the area... Kai Coffee Hawaii newest location is out in Kalama Valley which I think is a great addition to the area because if you do a Yelp search not a coffee place for miles. It is a simple complex with various tenants like Oahu Pool and Spa to Hawaii Balloon. This cozy spot is simple with two tables and a comfy sofa on the inside with a few tables on the outside including a couple picnic style tables with umbrella though on this gloomy day a couple of ladies hoarded the tables inside so I sat outside freezing lol! With that I had their Matcha Latte which comes unsweetened so I did add a touch of syrup...it was okay not the strong matcha flavor that I crave and they do Ave milk alternatives as well which is nice as I do enjoy changing it up sometimes. Along with my tea I decided on a deluxe breakfast sandwich on ciabatta which comes with an egg, cheddar, bacon, ham and garlic aioli which is served warm and was decent though almost paid $20 for the two considering my tea is $6.25 the sandwich was not worth it at all. The service was bleh for a morning coffee no greet, no thank you for the tip...the whole experience just not worth the drive out here unless you live in the area which would be going out of your way. Thank you!

Yelp
Fairly new coffee spot in east Honolulu. They have plenty of free parking and lots of nice outdoor seating. I was blown away by the lemon poppy seed cake I had. It was warm and a nice portion slice. I enjoyed it with a nice hot cup of tea.

Yelp
For some reason this Kai coffee location was really good. The Hawaiian coffee was *chef's kiss* - it wasn't too sweet and I loved the richness of flavor in the Kona beans ~

Yelp
love this gem - delicious matcha lattes. honey BLT. açaí bowls. and the team behind the counter works so hard! plenty of seating (indoor & out) and easy parking.

Yelp
Welcoming and friendly environment! We had an iced long black and an iced macadamia latte. Both very tasty with a smooth coffee taste! Also got a recommendation for a botanical garden nearby! Lovely experience

Yelp
Love this coffee spot. Great coffee and matcha latte. Drinks don't come overly sweetened. Food is delicious too.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in after a run and this place did not disappoint! The drinks were delicious! The smoothie was very fresh tasting and you can tell that they use real fruits! The coffee was absolutely delicious- the macadamia nut taste was subtle but nice! The service was quick and great! We definitely will be returning!

Yelp
I LOVE that we have this little community coffee shop! And the acai bowls and breakfast sandwiches are fantastic! Only thing, I wish they'd bring back the grab and go cold case with juices, fruit cups, turkey & cheese croissant sandwiches, and a few other options. It was so convenient to grab a quick coffee and snack. I imagine it was a good revenue generator too! In less words...please bring back the grab and go/picnic options! :)

Yelp
Came to this town center area to get a car wash; little did I know there was an awesome coffee shop nearby. Stopped in and was greeting right away by two very friendly gentleman; Kalio & Ryan. I asked some dumb questions and proceeded to order the following... Cold Brew Turkey Pesto Sandwich Breakfast Bake Everything was insanely amazingly awesome. I wish I brought a helmet because my mind was blown. Cold brew was strong, bold, smooth. Turkey Pesto sandwich had a small kick that took the sandwich to the next level. Breakfast bake consisted of scrambled eggs, cheese, sausage, hash browns, ham, and roasted bell peppers.... Bruh... i wasn't ready. Amazing. I spoke with the employees here and the food is made to order with fresh ingredients. It's not pre-packaged like Starbucks. I wished I lived closer. I'd stop by here more frequently. If you're in the area and need breakfast or lunch, give these guys a try. Highly recommend. Made my week. Thanks Kalio & Ryan for the awesome food / drink / and service! Definitely delivered with aloha!

Yelp
Yay awesome dirty chai latte and great customer service!!! Our favorite treat before we go see our tax guy lol. Place is cool and trendy. Only our second or third time here. Got a coffee cake also. Gonna try at home.

Yelp
Hidden gem of Hawaii Kai. Cute coffee shop with the best flavored coffee we have ever had. Gives starbies a run for their money! Becoming a regular weekend thing. Ordered here about 3 times already and we got sandwiches today. I must say, pretty darn good . Love the amount of greens they put into the sandwhich. Definitely look forward to going again next weekend.

Yelp
Love having a local coffee shop option in Hawaii Kai. Their sandwiches are delicious as is their coffee.

Yelp
I still like their location and drinks. But visiting again to do some work, the workers were openly talking trash about a customer. They might want to consider going to the back or whispering, especially when other customers are nearby. The customer they were complaining about was asking questions about the food choices and the worker didn't know the answers. Updated review: lowered my rating from 5 to 2, because after another work session at the cafe, the workers were talking trash openly about a customer. Customer service is hard, but maybe go to the back or whisper when others are around. The customer they were complaining about only asked a question about the food and since the worker didn't really know the answer, the customer must be the jerk.

Yelp
I will never come back here ever again. Before today I used to get my large iced Kai latte with either a breakfast burrito or sandwich literally 3-4x a week before work. Spending 20-22 bucks each time. With ONE EMPLOYEE WORKING. Not anymore. I came in today with my family ordered at 11:03am didn't get our order until 11:40 As soon as we got in there was no one in line so we placed our order right away. We ordered - 1 BLT, 2 hot medium house coffee, one large ice Kai latte, 2 small chocolate fraps & 2 fruit cups. I can see at least 2 parties before us waiting but it shouldn't take that long .WRONG. There was 2 people working and after waiting 25mins I asked where's our order and they said they working on it which was fine. But then one of the workers came out from behind the register to where customers were sitting and handed his friend who order AFTER us his drink and was talking to him. I guess screw the other customers. A few mins after that an older male, not sure if he was the manager came in to "help" them. He notice 2 girls who ordered 25-30mins AFTER us was waiting for their drinks but decided to screw everyone who has been waiting and make their drinks RIGHT AWAY. Maybe because they just came from next door which is their church. When I saw that I went right back to the register and asked how much longer? He has the balls to say oh they are swamped, if they are swamped why not help them make the drinks that people have been waiting for first instead of their "friends". Mind you at the same time people who order after us was going up the register as well asking for their order. About 5 mins later one of the workers called our one of our coffees but it was wrong he tried to give us what looks like 1 shot of espresso in a cup and I said what's that he said oh hot Kai coffee and I said no it suppose to be a house coffee (shit that's already made) and he said oh ok. All in all when we finally got our order I realized they probably over charged us because 1 medium house coffee is $3.75 and a medium Kai coffee is $6.75 so I asked for a copy of our receipt, they gave me a copy but it was itemized, so I asked for an itemized receipt the "manger" dude said he tried but the computer wouldn't let him. Never again Who ever that "manager" dude was who was helping I get it but at the same time you should apologize to every customer that you kept waiting and have some class. Don't blame them for being swamp when you and the other employee decide to make their friends their drinks instead of going in order of who ordered first. I will never support them ever again and it sucks because you guys are in a very convenient location to me but I rather take my hard earn money to a business who actually appreciate their customers.

Yelp
A nice addition to Kalama Valley! Great coffee selection and sandwiches! Enjoyed my first Acai Bowl with Nutela topping! The Coffee Shop is clean, air conditioned with nice new wood floors and tables and mellow music. There is also outside seating! Friendly staff adds to the whole experience! Highly recommend to come check it out!! Ask for Michelle or Kalio Free WIFI!!!

Yelp
Kai Coffee has been a favorite of ours for a long time. One can enjoy great 100% Hawaiian Blend coffees (and teas) at their locations at the Hyatt and the Alohilani Hotels, the Waikiki Plaza and in Kapahulu! Today we visited the newly opened store in Kalama Valley on Kealahou Street today. As usual, the house blend coffee was smooth and hot. The blueberry cream cheese scone and the breakfast deluxe sandwich were wonderful. Other croissants and sandwiches are included on the menu as well. There are tables inside and outside to relax and enjoy a light lunch or a snack. Michelle and Kiana were very welcoming, greeting with smiles as soon as we entered! Helpful with our questions and friendly conversations ... added to the ambience. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I just found this treasure of a coffee shop! Amazing coffee and a great vibe. I will try food on my next visit- which will be very soon. Table in cafe and outside. Could not be better.

Yelp
My family and I frequent this place. Mostly, my toddler son and I go after I pick him up from school :) he loves their açaí bowls and their deluxe breakfast sandwiches. I always tell him to choose one but always wants both lol. (He loves ringing the bell on the counter too ) I wish it stayed open longer to be honest! I think we've been there at least 30x since they've opened. Love the food and their staff-They're Very friendly. The shop is also very clean, bright, and airy. Would definitely recommend :)

Yelp
Grateful to Kai Coffee for opening a cafe in Kalama valley. It's one of the few places where they serve the best Kona coffee. Not to mention friendly service. During slow time, it's great to catch up with the manager, Michelle, Sam and team over some delicious coffee and food. They have indoor and outdoor seating., we always find a place to sit and enjoy our weekend coffees and breakfast.

Sonya P.

Yelp
Rude rude rude employee! Unfriendly, no eye contact. Expensive menu Food items have no prices When asked what crepe is available, it's a chore to answer. Never again! Wanted to support local but with this kind of service, never again!

Yelp
Super cute. The Kai Latte and club sandwich are super good! The location is quiet but on the way to Sandy's so very convenient. Service was excellent and the recommendations were on point.

Kham K.

Yelp
My favorite drink there is the Kai Latte with coconut milk hot. Service is fast. For breakfast, I get their Acai bowl, so yummy. It's a cute small coffee shop but everywhere on the island. Lol

Katie S.

Yelp
I had a vanilla latte and an açaí bowl.. both were fabulous and the two employees were super sweet and genuine. They made great conversation with me. I am appreciative that Kalama Valley has a great place like this that we can go to!

Cherie Elise A.

Yelp
Kiana and Michelle exuded warmth and superb customer service. The Kai Latte was delicious as was the banana bread. Will definitely be back. Mahalo :-)
