Kaia Tani is run by Barbara and Paolo, a passionate Italian couple who offer a very hands-on and friendly experience. The place is located fantastically near the entrance to Kruger park. Paolo leads incredible safari drives with deep knowledge and tireless dedication — he’ll track animals until the very last minute of park hours! Barbara organizes gentler, charming outings like the Jessica the Hippo visit, the Moholoholo Rescue Centre, a lovely local fabric shop (suggested by her based on our interests), as well as a boat ride and night tour, which are all definitely worth doing. We were also given great and personalized tips for our journey onward like a restaurant in Johannesburg and stops to visit on the road there. The rooms are very clean, small but cozy, furnished and well-kept — the cleaning lady does a fantastic job. That said, the rooms are close together, and since people walk right in front, you’ll likely want to keep your curtains closed for privacy. Meals are great: a set dinner adapted to your preferences and a generous breakfast. Their motto is “you arrive as a guest, leave as a friend” — and that really sums up the vibe. Perfect for those who enjoy a warm, involved atmosphere.

Rooms are a lil small but everything else is great. Donald, the staff there, is really helpful and friendly. The food is just about what you'd expect from a guest house

Our stay at Kaia Tani was delightful. The hosts Barbara and Paolo were so hospitable, it felt more like visiting friends, and they are very passionate about their adopted country. The staff too were very friendly and attentive. The rooms and lodge were wonderful, charmingly rustic, very clean and calming. The activities that the hosts organised for us were absolute highlights of our trip to South Africa.

We stayed at Kaya Tani for 5 nights as two families with teenagers. We found a warm and welcoming environment where Barbara and Paolo hosted us and organized all the safari activities (day, night, walking, and boat) and the visit to the township. The timing and organization of the excursions was excellent and all the activities were very interesting! Tania, the person who supports the owners, was also brilliant. Congratulations to the team and thank you for sharing your passion for this part of Africa with us!

Kaia Tani is a lovely guesthouse. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the facilities are beautiful. The pool is especially pretty and a good size. Paolo and Barbara and their team (especially Donald and Daneka) make you feel very welcome and provide a great service. We went on 2 excursions with Barbara and really enjoyed both. It is also very close to Kruger National Park, so very easy to go on safari with Kaia Tani as your base. We would highly recommend

Visited the Kruger for the first time with my mom and we stayed here. Our stay was incredibly pleasant. The owners have hearts of gold and went out of their way to make us feel at home and incredibly welcome. Thanks to the entire staff for their warm welcome and their kindness. The guesthouse is very clean, the rooms are a bit small but very well furnished. We really enjoyed the dinners, breakfasts and the sunset boat cruise. Our morning game drive arranged by the owners was incredibly special and by far our favorite experience. Highly recommend if you are looking for good accommodation (pool, WiFi, bar, ...) close to the Kruger.

You need to visit the guest house to experiment how wonderful it is. I booked us in for my husband's birthday and it was exceptional... amazing beyond words. From the reception welcoming us, the rooms are very clean and neat, beautiful views and scenery, the website pictures don't do it justice, it really is beautiful. The service was a definite 10/10. The owner Barbra was so warm and welcoming, entertaining too, I wanted to take her home with me😋.
