Kaiji Beach

This beach is famous for the star shaped sand. Some people find it impossible to find but I managed to see it. I believe it is forbidden to swim in this beach but it is still nice to check out, although it’s better to go on a bike if you can. I bought a bottle of star sand to the friendly man who has a shop there. I have seen similar bottles of sand in other places being sold in souvenir shops (but not starry ones) so I am a bit hesitant about the sand in the bottle being real.

Apparently this is the beach, where you can find the famous star sand, but don't bother its quite rare. You can also buy it from a guy next to the entertance, however we found out that on the Ishigaki island you can buy it for half the price on the local market, and in more eye catching containers. When it comes to the beach value, you better walk to the Kondoi beach it's much better.

This was a nice place to visit, but if you are expecting to find star sand- go pound sand because it is virtually impossible to find… plus you can’t take it with you if you do find it. There is a guy who sells a small vial of star sand for ¥500. The beach does have a cute swing for Insta pics. Overall, I would bike here again just to enjoy the views.

Such a lovely beach! In addition to the star sand, this beach has the most shade I've seen in a month of my Okinawa travels. A few swings are hanging from trees so you can enjoy the views and relax. Swimming is not allowed here. Small shop had a table on the beach with a few items for sale (jewelry and bottles of star sand)

Easy to get to. The sandbar is walkable at low tide.

Nice beach to visit - you are not allowed to swim there, and probably wouldn't want to as it is very rocky. However, there are nice sandy shaded areas where you can lie down and chill. Looking for the little stars is also quite enjoyable.

Beautiful but you cant swim there

This beach was a lot more rocky than Kondoi beach down the road. There were some cool large hermit crabs walking around and lots of rocks that looked nice under the sun. I recommend wearing swim shoes or sandals because it was difficult to walk around barefoot.
