Local Guide LV 7

This hotel is visually beautiful — minimalist, modern, and aesthetically very pleasing. The design, lobby space, and overall feel of the building are lovely. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives mostly end.
For the price, this hotel offers very minimal service and convenience. It feels more like a self-serviced apartment than a proper hotel — yet it’s priced like a full-service one.
There were no bowls, no cutlery, no utensils, and no microwave in the room, which makes it extremely inconvenient. The fridge is tiny — you can barely fit a few drinks inside, and there’s no freezer.
The “laundry” is located in the basement with only three washers and three dryers for the entire hotel. It was constantly occupied, and we were never able to use it. For a hotel of this size, that’s simply not adequate.
The location is also inconvenient. Yes, it’s quiet and residential — but that’s exactly the issue. There’s nothing around. The nearest convenience store is about a 5-minute walk, and the nearest train station is roughly 15 minutes away. The area is mostly apartments, houses, and dental clinics. If you’re visiting Tokyo and want to explore easily, this is not ideal.
The rooms are significantly smaller than they appear in the photos, and the layout was completely different from what we expected when booking. We couldn’t have two suitcases open on the floor at the same time without blocking the entire walkway.
The beds are extremely firm — very uncomfortable for anyone used to softer Western-style mattresses and pillows.
The TV setup is honestly baffling. It’s mounted facing a wall rather than the beds, cannot be adjusted, and only offers a handful of local Japanese channels. No YouTube, no streaming apps, no AirPlay, nothing. For such an expensive hotel, not having a smart TV in 2026 feels unacceptable.
There are no phones in the rooms, no room service, and overall service feels minimal and detached — which is surprising in Japan, where hospitality standards are usually exceptional.
The most disappointing moment was at the café. It was supposedly closed at 6:30pm, but when I went down around 7pm, two staff members were still there standing behind the counter. I politely asked for a muffin that was visibly on display and was told no because they were “closed.” After spending a significant amount on this hotel, being refused something that simple — while staff were literally standing there — felt unnecessarily rigid and rude. It left a very sour impression.
Overall, while the hotel looks beautiful, it is very expensive for what it actually offers. Minimal amenities, inconvenient location, small rooms, uncomfortable beds, and underwhelming service make it hard to justify the price.
I wouldn’t return and would recommend looking for something in a more central location with better service and basic in-room conveniences.
