A 150 year old company specialized in making metal tea-caddies. This is a cute store displaying all their metal caddies with different materials and uses. Very high-quality craftsmanship you can only find in Japan. Totally recommend this to gift someone or just to buy for your own collection. The containers are perfectly sealed from humidity despite being made by hand. They also offer repairs!!! Buy things that last for a lifetime!!

Beautiful store with insane level of craftsmanship. Staff is super kind and attentive and happy to answer all questions. Impossible to leave without purchasing something- it’s all so beautiful

I have had Japanese tea caddys for years, all of varying sizes and one of my smaller caddys recently broke so I needed to find and new one and did a bit of research and found Kailado. Wow. What a beautiful store and what an amazing team more than happy to help and share their passion (and they felt for my loss of my other caddy - she suggested I should have brought it with me as she could have fixed it) Anyhow I now have a new tea caddy and a valuable experience with some great craftsmen. These items are not cheap but will be a lasting memory of my trip to Kyoto. I was also kindly gifted a tea scoop with my name engraved in it, beautiful service.

If you’re looking for something authentic from Kyoto and/or design for your home and/or tea additected their tea canister is the best. Handmade they keep the freshness of the tea. they are sleek, design and they get nice patina with time.

Came here after watching a documentary on tea in Japan, and we loved this place. We didn't feel rushed at all and we went home with a tin tea caddy and a copper spoon. They also offered free engraving. Can't wait for our tea caddy to age in grace.

Not the cheapest products but you gotta love them. Amazing craftsmanship. They will engrave your name on the little scoop.
