Kaikyo View Shimonoseki

My wife and I attended a wedding in Shimonoseki in October and the Japanese bride arranged that we stayed in this hotel. It is situated on the outskirts of the town, a 5 minute drive from the centre, or a 30 minute walk. It is situated on a hillside overlooking the Kaikyo Straits, with great views over the busy waterway between the main Japanese island Honshu and Kyushu.||||The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful, although only a few spoke English. The bedroom consisted of 2 large single beds, a toilet with a separate wetroom shower and bath. Air conditioning, safe, tea making facilities, fridge and a balcony are available. Bedding and towels were changed on a daily basis. The hotel has an onsen - there is a large hot water pool, with a separate smaller outdoor covered hot water pool, and a sauna available. There is no facility for swimming.||||No details of pricing was available on the website in advance of our trip, but the cost for bed and breakfast was JPY 16,700 yen per night for a couple.||||Wifi is free and only available in the hotel lobby, not in the bedrooms.. There are also a couple of vending machines for beer and soft drinks. Hot drinks are available in the hotel lobby.

This hotel is a hidden gem with its view of Kaikyo strait. The stay comes with dinner and all you came at breakfast with western and Japanese food selection. We stayed during off peak season and so bath were empty and service was just enough. (Older inn tends to be more service oriented but this is a national facility. So no frill service but just right.

Fantastic location to enjoy the view of Kanmon bridge. Services were also satisfactory & price were very competitive.

Great bath house, hotel and restaurant with excellent service. Good prices, even specials on the best massage therapy I've ever had.

初めて日帰り入浴を利用しました。 家族風呂も有り、車椅子もあります。 建物は古いですが随所に細かなサービスがあるホテルだなと印象。 浴場は 広くもなく狭くもなく 自分にはとても居心地が良かったです。このロケーションは中々ないのでは 露天風呂から見る内海ならではの穏やかな海の景色と関門海峡が最高でした。今度は宿泊を利用させて頂きます

2025.1.30入住和式房型(10疊) 櫃檯接待人員很親切，英文溝通良好~親子友善，有提供兒童備品，因為我們有兩個孩子，人員還特地挑了兩種不同圖案的備品！飯店的衣服是兩件式的，也有兒童版，相當可愛！ 溫泉相當舒服，有室內與室外湯，隔天男女湯會交換！也是可以眺望關門海峽，有景。 房間的景觀相當漂亮，看出去就是關門海峽，不論白天還是晚上都很美麗！晚上6~8點人員會進到房間鋪床！ 周邊沒有什麼店家，很清淨，可以考慮在飯店一泊二食或到超市買好再入住！ 早餐品項不少，好吃！用餐在二樓，一樣可以眺望關門海峽，很美麗！

内湯風呂、露天風呂、水風呂、サウナがあります。内湯と露天はシービューで海峡を行き来する船を見ながらゆったりつかれます。 サウナは低温(80~90度)で20分前後入れました。シャワーは手元でミストから超強力に調整出来ます。 肩が凝るので一時当てていたら肌が赤くなる程水圧が強かったので満足しています。
