Kaindy Lake, located near Saty Village in the Kolsai Lakes National Park, is truly a magical place. The lake was formed after an earthquake in 1911, which caused a landslide that blocked the valley and created this stunning turquoise-blue lake. What makes Kaindy Lake unique is the submerged forest — the trunks of spruce trees still rise eerily from the water, creating an unforgettable view.
The route from Saty to Kaindy is off-road and bumpy, so a 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended. The ride itself is an adventure through mountain paths and green valleys. Once you reach, the peaceful mountain air, mirror-like water, and surreal scenery make it all worth it.
Best season to visit is late spring to early autumn (May–September) when access is easier and the lake’s color is most vibrant. In winter, it’s often frozen, offering a completely different beauty.
Highly recommended for nature lovers, photographers, and adventure seekers — Kaindy Lake is a must-visit gem in Kazakhstan!
