Very clean, pleasant and nicely decorated hostel. The facilities are well kept, and the communal area has a nice little bar, also used for breakfast. The beds are very comfortable and plenty of space around them to store things. The walkways between beds in the rooms are quite narrow, so it can be hard to store larger bits of luggage somewhere sensible. All in all a lovely hostel.

Great deal for the price. Clean, cute and cozy. Comes with a simple breakfast (toast, jam, eggs, bananas and coffee or juice). Nice atmosphere; very relaxed. Not a very rowdy/social hostel, but it makes up for it with charm. The staff are extremely lovely and kind. One member of staff even posted a letter for me on his way home. The neighborhood is very nice too. There is a laundromat across the street and also a 7-11. Lots of cute restaurants and cafes. 5 minute walk to the nearest station. Only downside of our stay was some rowdy drunk guys in our dorm on our first night, but the next 3 nights were fine and that comes with the territory of staying in a hostel.

Really lovely little hostel with comfy beds and great bathrooms! The showers and toilets were really clean and the bed pods were spacious enough. It was also nice that there was a bar/cafe downstairs where you could get breakfast in the morning and discounted food and drinks during the day/night. The staff were really nice and helpful.

My best hostel experience so far. The concept with the bed boxes is genius and something I haven't seen outside Japan before. In the nights it was silent and the boxes give a lot of privacy. They function like mini rooms and there is a safe in each box. Also a light and a small hanger for clothes and a towel. Towels can be rented for 100 yen as long as you need them. Breakfast is included. It's just toast, bananas and eggs though. One drink (tee, coffee,...) is for free. If you bring your own food you can eat it in the common room behind the Cafe. They have a small outside terrace and really big and clean bathrooms. The doors to the rooms have code locks and the night entrance also has a lock code. So you have to have a good memory or the little leaflet with the codes with you at all times :) umbrellas can be used freely from the hostel. They also provide indoor slippers since shoes are not allowed inside the rooms.

Kaisu is a beautiful hostel in a lovely area. The streets are quiet at night, lovely in the day. It is only a short walk from the train station and very well connected if you are confident using the metro/underground (get a pasmo card if you’re using for a few days). The staff are very friendly, good strong coffee with your toast and fruit for breakfast (included free!). It was difficult at times with only two showers for female but the amenities are good and clean, nice to have a private lounge and sitting area away from the bar. Thank you Kaisu from Melbourne Au.

Really friendly people. I enjoyed my stay here immensely. The rooms were very clean and we had a nice view. The breakfast they provided was consistent and nice and a good change from the typical continental breakfasts you usually get at hotels. Would probably stay again.

Such a nice hostel. Comfortable and private beds, super clean, really friendly staff, and free breakfast! The location is great too. It's in a nice, quiet area with easy access to the trains. I definitely recommend staying here.

I stayed here one night and loved it. The bed was super comfortable, it was very quiet, the food and coffee were great, the people were VERY accommodating and friendly, with plenty of native English speakers to give you advice and directions. The common areas are clean, fresh, and inviting. Cannot recommend highly enough. Side note: all nine reviews give this place 5 stars, so why isn't the overall score 5? Weird...

Yelp
Just returned from my trip to Japan, with two days in Tokyo. Being on a budget, I was lucky enough to find Kai Hostel (also called Kaisu Hostel) located in the north-west portion of Tokyo's Minato district. The owners, Shige and Takaki were excellent hosts, and have put together what must be the nicest hostel in Japan. Very clean, very organized, and with a beautiful aesthetic. Kai is located a block from the Akasaka train station which puts you in easy reach of all of Tokyo. The bed was super comfortable, and there is air conditioning in every room if needed. They also rent towels for 200 yen, should you not have your own. They provide a simple breakfast every morning, and there are two laundromats practically next door. I would not hesitate to stay at Kai again, and would certainly rather stay there than pay for an expensive Tokyo hotel room.

Yelp
love this hostel! easy access to metro, plus has everything you need from hair dryer to conditioner, plus warm inviting space to come home to after a long day of trekking throughout tokyo! one of my favorite hostels ever, if ever in tokyo again will definitely stay here
