Amazing!
The road there is windy and we had 2 folks car sick!
There are restrooms on top. We went in October and it was freezing, make sure to wrap up with lots of layers. Hats gloves and scarves too! So cold.
The views and plants were amazing! Great sunset and we stayed to watch the stars, you could see the whole milkyway
Highly recommend! Long trip though

Excellent day trip to see up above it all! You can see most all of Maui from up top the mountain, including La'Nai and Hawaii Big Island. It might be busy during sunrise and sunset, but the midday time when I visited was only mildly busy, plenty of room to leisurely move around and not feel rushed at all.

Breathtaking views! Have warm clothes to change into because it’s cold and windy up there! Be mindful of the time it takes to get up there and down. The drive is very much worth it.

I came here 2 years ago where we saw a beautiful sunset. Today was misty so we didn't stay too long. Recommend to come at least 3 hours before sunset. There are limited parkings. It can get cold and windy, misty also so please check weather before coming. Pack a light snack and water. There is a few restrooms before the park. One at the visitor center. That's about 30 minutes before the summit. 2 more restroom about 10 minutes and 3 minutes before the summit. Take a lot of pictures and cause th view is beautiful. Drive carefully and pray for protection and a good experience. God bless.

A 5 star overlook. When we were visiting the National Park in early December it was really cold, windy with some rain. We were well prepared and changed clothes at the visitor center before driving up to the top. When we got to the Kalahaku Overlook we saw a mystic rainbow just over the caldera. This was absolutely spectacular ....... words can't describe.

Great sunrise spot and view of the crater cinder cones. Went on a weekday and I had the overlook to myself until the sun broke the horizon.

Truly a magic experience! Sunrise is amazing, but also dangerous! A car in front of our party hit a rock and flipped over. Maybe the driver was too tired, or affected by the high altitude? Take care if you go!
