Kalahari Arms Hotel

We booked and paid for the presidential suite for two nights over a month in advance but turned up on the day of arrival to find that our room had been given to someone else, to say we weren't happy was an understatement after 7 days in a rooftop tent! The staff and management here were so brilliant in sorting us out an alternative option with compensation and then looked after us so well that I felt compelled to leave them this review. The beds were soft and the food is excellent (especially the T-bone steak) so this place is well worth a visit if you’re passing through. A big thank you to Queen the GM for looking after us.

We did like this hotel as a one night stop over. Rooms very airy, modern and very good WiFi connection. Location, although in centre of town, was nevertheless quiet with secure parking. Very nice swimming pool. Restaurant and service a bit average and breakfast room not very inspiring, however cooked breakfast was freshly prepared.

Food's great(love their pizza) and the service at the bar kuru is on another level 💯 served by Sir Peter there and all the time he was just great 💯

Pretty decent. At the time of my visit, the Kalahari Arms Hotel is/was undergoing a facelift, but the Executive rooms met requirement for a quick break. Only problem that comes with refurbishments is weird noises like what I’d hear droning in the night. ||Another advantage especially if one isn’t driving, the hotel is easy to locate and is near shops etc. however there was bar type noise especially on Saturday night which I thought sounded like it came from outside of the premises. Near shops can also be a nuisance. Didn’t do the long walk to the restaurant, but they provided great food and room service.

Stayed one night and it was really great. Rooms very clean and neat. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Good quality food and service at restaurant.

We were extremely lucky to have chosen to stay overnight during an overland trip from RSA to Namibia and then Botswana back to RSA , father, and two sons at this establishment.|On arrival, we were treated almost as returning guests, and the rooms provided were excellent, in contrast to the majority of other establishments during the 18-day trip.|What impressed us was the elderly lady who checked us in, Maureen. She took the time to walk us about the premises, tell us the history of the buildings and the town, and then go out of her way to fetch us pool towels and arrange for drinks to be delivered to the pool. The Dinner and Breakfast meals were great, and the service could not be faulted.|The rooms are really good as are the beds and bathing amenities, all function without fault.|The only improvement could be the online booking of in-house people, struggle with the knowledge of the product being supplied, took me 5 e-mails to make a single night reservation for 3 .|Nevertheless, I would recommend the establishment to any discerning traveler passing through Ghanz and i will stay/ use them again.

I used to visit the hotel bar, its pool and its restaurant. The service was great. The hotel can be used as a base to visit a vast area of the Kalahari and its wonders. It was in 1995.
