Location is nice but there is literally not many other lodges. We stayed in a cabin with a great view and beach access. The cabin was rustic and for the price TOO rustic. The view is great but we are in the PNW so rain happens. No WiFi and no amenities at all. The restaurant was absolutely awful. I will never pay this price to stay here again. Ridiculous.

Beautiful stay right by the water! We had a very cute little cabin, rustic feeling but very comfortable. Comfortable beds and pillows, nicely stocked kitchen. The bathroom is a bit small, including the shower, but for a national park lodge, it was just fine. The location is great, loved the views, nice amenities including the store (with coffee options!) and the restaurant (tip: make a reservation in advance). All in all, a great stay.

We were very excited to visit the Kalaloch area and looked forward to staying at the lodge. The area is beautiful and the location is great. The front desk and restaurant staff were also great. The food was ok. Our room in the lodge had a good view. This was the 3rd NP lodge we stayed in during our trip. Now comes the reason for the poor rating. It was run down and dirty. We understand and expect rustic and minimum amenities at park lodges but this particular concessionaire is not doing a good job. Beautiful area, the lodge has a lot of potential, we were disappointed in its condition.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Kalaloch. We had a cabin overlooking the ocean and the views were amazing. The cabin was well designed, very comfortable and cozy. Walked from our cabin, down steps to the beach and walked the beach up to the iconic Tree of Life. The restaurant has a great selection of food and the wild berry pie was super!! We recommend Kalaloch for anyone looking for a relaxing stay with beautiful views and a great restaurant.

We had a great stay at Kalaloch lodge. We opted for a 2 queen bedroom suite in the Seacrest house, both for wifi and more space for 2 adults and 2 kids. I'm glad we didn't get the 1 bedroom because the futon did not look very comfortable. The Creekside restaurant was amazing, a little slow for breakfast but dinner was great and the food was delicious. I would make a reservation even for a small party as there was a wait for those who didn't have reservations. The tetherball was a hit. There was a fire ban during our stay but otherwise they provide firewood for the fireplace. We enjoyed the location with proximity to Lake Quinalt, Hoh rainforest and beaches.

We stayed in the lodge part of the hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable, above average for a national park hotel. The price was what you would expect, especially at peak season. We noticed the cabins, which are situated further away on the property and I would love to stay there as they had more privacy and better views. The beach fronting the property is lovely. The whole area is a piece of heaven. It was well worth staying here. Book well in advance!

The location is beautiful and quite perfect. We stayed four nights which was good, relaxing and not too pressuring for time. The Beach is accessible too, where many weren't. The restaurant was very good for breakfast and dinners. (We were never there for lunch.) The entire staff were helpful and personable. Meals were a bit limited but given Kalaloch's remote location it's understandable. The mercantile was handy for snacks. We'd ordered wine, a cheese plate and sweets to be in the room when we arrived, and all were very good & welcomed (we actually ate the cheese plate while we waited a short 25 minutes to get into the Hoh rainforest.) We stayed in a suite in the 2 story building behind the cabins , and it had a great fireplace and plenty of wood each day. One or two days it was warm enough to sit in front of our ground floor room, in the Adirondack chairs looking at the ocean (visible between the cabins in front of us). The room was very dated, but comfy, and a friend stayed over one night on the futon sofa for which bedding was provided. It was helpful to have a fridge and microwave (and of course coffee maker.) The lobby in the main building was very small, as was the gift shopping quite limited. I really wished there had been a big selection of native made art/crafts. (Almost none). We'd definitely stay there again, and for the same amount of time as it was relaxing to settle in there.

I absolutely loved Kalaloch, this was our second time coming. My wife and I just did our honeymoon here. We used Kalaloch as a base camp to explore the surrounding areas within a one hour (or so) drive - Ruby Beach, the Quinault Rain Forest, Hoh Rain Forest, and the Bogachiel Rain Forest. Kalaloch is certainly a good bang for your buck IF you take full advantage of its location and are willing to drive a bit to see things beyond Ruby Beach and the Tree of Life. That said, Ruby Beach is very much worth it - we were lucky enough to see seals, porpoises and sea otters multiple times there. We loved the cozy duplex cabin and how dog friendly the resort is. Thank you!

Yelp
Nice selection of merch and helpful staff. Great views of the beach. Lots of cabins and other places to stay, year round camping. There was also a restaurant.

Yelp
We stayed here 1 night as we traveled around the park. I spent the stay trying to figure out if I was trapped in an episode of Schitt$ Creek or the first Friday the 13th movie. Well I decided it was more like Friday the 13th without Jason. The cabin reminded me of the ones in the movie, which was probably the last time they were updated. They also had no WiFi in the cabins, TV, little cell service and didn't even have board games to pass the time when raining. One restaurant on property and food options are limited but good. For $350+ a night, if you can avoid it don't stay here.

Yelp
A two-night stay February 2025. The staff were great; helpful and courteous. The cabin was clean. The beds comfortable. The rates were reasonable. The weather was cooperative. A repeated scratching noise in the middle of the night. A mouse had got itself into the trash can and couldn't get out. Putting the recycle can on top of the trash can trapped the mouse, and putting the whole thing outside allowed sleep to resume. The staff offered a free breakfast as compensation. No idea what the mouse got as compensation. Staff came and removed everything and brought new trash and recycle cans. Disappointingly bad lighting in the cabin. It was impossible to read a book or see what was being done in the kitchen area. Cell phone flashlights were used to prepare food. Dish soap was provided, but nothing to scrub with. Odd. The shower was a puzzle. It took a while to determine that barely turning the shower on was when the hot water came out (as opposed to turning the knob as far as possible away from the "off" position), and it was very hot water but it came out as a mist, so by the time it hit a person's body it was lukewarm. The heater could not be turned off, and it made a racket all night. We were very disappointed to learn, after we checked in, that there was no access to the beach from the lodge property. In order to go get on a beach, a drive was necessary. We agreed that we will not return.

Yelp
Broken wine glass all over the bathroom floor and cabin. My daughter nearly stepped in it and I poked my thumb cleaning it. Don't bother making reservations at the restaurant. They honor walk-ins first. The natural location is beautiful. The Delaware North property is completely the opposite.

Yelp
Stopped at the Kalaloch Mercantile to get coffee as recommended by the restaurant because they didn't have a fresh pot. The coffee was made by one of those machines like at a gas station which I didn't notice until after I paid for it. It was so gross and it cost $5.16!!!!

Yelp
I'd like to preface this review by stating that I was not expecting anything luxurious. We were happy to go somewhere remote, near Olympic, with no WiFi of TV. The location places you pretty close to the Hoh Rainforest and the Tree of Life, which is why we chose this location. It is EXTREMELY remote -- there are no places to eat within 20+ miles. Still, we were so excited to eat at the on-site restaurant. We showed up less than one hour after it opened, and after waiting ten minutes for a hostess, we were seated. The waitress informed us that they were out of several menu items. I was so annoyed that I got up and left without even eating dinner. As for the room, it's just a basic old room in need of some updates. The mattress was a little springy, the shower was very small, and my hair dryer didn't work. Normally I wouldn't care, but it was too cold out for wet hair. I had to drive to the main lobby for a replacement. I stayed in the Seacrest Lodge, which is tucked away towards the end of the property. Warning for anyone who stays in the Seacrest Lodge: you can hear every single noise on the second floor.

Yelp
Beautiful property! Natural fireplace in the lobby! Made us feel at home! Such a fantastic property, why stay anywhere else???

Yelp
This was a great lodge to explore. We. Didn't reserve to stay here but we stopped off to look Lots of old world leather chairs to lounge in.

Yelp
The cabin was outdated and not having a TV during the winter months while it's raining was difficult. Not having enough food options was also challenging.

Yelp
We had a wonderful, seaside meal at Kalaloch Lodge. Drinks, entrees and desserts, the waitstaff's amiability and attentiveness, as well as our views were perfection!

Yelp
Honestly, this was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. From the outside it looks decent. But I was staying in a Lodge room and it was just not well maintained. For starters, the room had major moisture and humidity issues and the door to the bathroom would not open. We actually thought it was locked and went to the front desk for help before we were able to force it open. The bathroom was in dire need of help. The shower was broken and maintenance had to whack it to turn on. He said that the shower was broken and that his manager knew that but still they rented the room to us. When we went to try to get a new room, the hotel had just sold out. We did end up getting a partial refund the next morning but that just was not great. When we got the shower to work, the pressure was just not there. And there was this little timer taunting you about how long showers use way too many gallons of water. Unfortunately, I used a lot of water to wash the Pacific Ocean off me (I got splashed). The rest of the room was just dusty and damp and there were massive spiderwebs in the corners of the ceiling. One of the outlets wasn't working. And the bed placement was all wrong - it was placed against the main hallway so when the babies down the hall started screaming at 4am, you heard it. And one side of the bed was less than a foot away from the door to the hallway. And the door didn't properly seal so light leaked and I kept thinking the door was opening in the middle of the night. The whole lodge felt like it was someplace that had been grand once but no one is keeping up with the maintenance. And with it overlooking the ocean, the lodge requires a lot of a maintenance. There was wifi in the Lodge. That was nice. The restaurant had horrible service and sold overpriced, bland food. Our server didn't even give us silverware or napkins when she brought our appetizer. I had to ask. I wouldn't recommend this hotel but it doesn't really matter to most because this is the only hotel for miles.

Yelp
Sometimes I close my eyes and picture being back here. It's a little on the pricy side in both lodging and food but worth setting the money aside for. I also picture being back at Ruby Beach, which it is also conveniently near. Worth every penny, you've only got the one life unless most of us are mistaken

Yelp
We spent the weekend there and had a unit in the Seacrest house. We overall had a great time, the unit was rustic, but mainly clean. They could definitely work a bit more on maintenance issues like very rusty baseboards, green shower head, rusty door knobs, dead flies in many windows, etc 3* is the max I would give on this side of things. The unit itself was otherwise good in size, had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee machine. It comes with a table and chairs, couch and a good sized bathroom. They do refill the coffee, but not the cups, so they meant well, but missed anyway. It's super expensive, so it's a mixed bag in my opinion, at their price point, it's luxury and they need to address all their issues timely. The lodge itself had really nice food when we were there, that's where the higher rating comes in. The breakfast was really nice and affordable and they even got a kids/senior/small hunger menu, which was great. We had dinner there twice and besides too much breading on the fish and chips, the food was actually pretty good for NP Lodge options. Service was also friendly and fast.

Yelp
You can not beat the location of the Kalaloch Lodge which was very close to HOH Rainforest. You have beach views, relative low to average accommodations and a hot but low pressure shower. Its pretty desolate out in Olympic NP and we didn't want to camp or have a cabin with no shower so for $300+ a night, we got what we got. It's obviously not a 4 or 5 star hotel. It was dumpy for the price. We were hit with a moldy smell the moment you step into the room so I kept 2 of the beach views windows open and 1 window on the side open for the night so it can air out the room. 2/4 pillows were YELLOW. The pillow cases were so worn they turned yellow. Yuck! When I was getting ready to sleep.. there was a dried blood stain near my pillow area. Double YUCK! My biggest issue was the smell that doesn't leave your nostrils. The moldy smell..you can see mold on the window sills, in the bathroom sink, on the baseboards of the room. It needs a deep clean and a carpet change! The carpet was so old, worn and fraying in some spots. Need major help. I would say the restaurant downstairs was quite pleasant in the food and service. The front desk was also very friendly. After you check out, if you have time, go drive down the block to the campground parking lot and make your way to the beach to check out the Tree Of Life. This tree after years of erosion, has raised roots hanging in midair but somehow it is still surviving!

Yelp
We didn't get to stay at the lodge but we stopped briefly to eat at the restaurant. We loved the simplicity of the menu. It makes it easier to decide what we want. We had the Kalaloch burger and it was good. The service was nice and soft spoken perfect for such a peaceful setting. We're glad we stopped

Yelp
We loved our stay at Kalaloch Lodge. We brought our pup and loved our dog-friendly cabin. The area is beautiful as you are just a quick walk down to the beach. The cabin was simple but had all the amenities you could need. The location is great in terms of accessing the beaches nearby along with not too far of drives to get to the Hoh or Quinault rainforests.

Robert K.

Yelp
Very Overpriced for the amenities, you are paying for near access to the park only. Basic rooms, expensive on site restaurant. WiFi is in main lodge only not in cabins. The views are incredible, the access to the park is right there.

Yelp
While visiting Olympic National Park, we decided to have a short stay here. Booking is tough depending on the season, but luckily on a short planned trip we were able to get a reservation. Check-in is normally around 4pm but we were able to check-in at about 2pm. Pull up to main lodge to check-in and you will be good to go from there. We got one of the duplex bluff cabins with one queen bed with wood burning stove (I think cabin 12). Just park your vehicle directly in front of the cabin. It's duplex style so you will hear your neighbor. Ocean/Beach view is amazing, so wonderful! Room is pretty dated but still quaint, no TV, no WiFi, signal is weak, so you will go off the grid for your stay here. Totally fine with me, just enjoy your company and stay. Queen bed was actually quite comfy, clean and no issues. There's a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, couch and coffee table to use. Small closet and drawers for your drawwlls. Shower stall is small but it will get you clean, fresh towels and small sink. Overall, the room is pretty basic lodging but we knew that coming in. We didn't even use the wood stove. Views of sunset were beautiful, relaxing and just amazing! We got a chance to meet a few neighbors while enjoying the sunset views. We brought a cooler of our own food to microwave because food options are limited in the area. There's a restaurant at the lodge but we weren't feeling it when booking. Also there's a little general store at the front of the property if you want drinks and snacks etc. Access to the beach was closed as the stairwell down was damaged from a recent storm. You will have to walk up the property to the camp ground area to get to the beach where you will see the "Tree of Life". We walked the property in the morning to enjoy the early morning quietness and check out the entire area, we stopped to play tether ball real quick, I won. No need to have high expectations or any luxury accommodations when booking. But overall the stay was fine and ok for us, it fit our itinerary on things we wanted to see & do while in the area. Front desk staff was nice, prices are what we thought it would be, would consider coming back again.

Yelp
Pros: location (if you are not a into camping, this is pretty much your only choice of lodging in that area), cute little individual historical huts in pretty decent condition Cons: they lost their beach access in 2020 and it's not restored after almost a year (it actually bothered me a lot, I booked the lodge due to its beach access and there was no way for me to find this out before I checked in), price (without the beach access, $360/night after tax seems steep to me personally)

Mark B.

Yelp
Nice view and that was it. Rest was not good at all. For the price it was definitely not worth it. Please see pictures. Place was not clean and had a strange odor. Would never recommend this place. One star is too much. Stay away. There are much better places in the area.

Yelp
I'll start by saying we have stayed here multiple times. The last time we were here was in 2019, the lodge was under different ownership then... it was always a little dingy but that is expected for something that close to the ocean in the PNW. The new ownership company has severely neglected this place and a once grand lodge and place to stay is in DESPERATE need of maintenance. One of the huge draws to this place is having staircase beach access which they no longer have. The staircase is in need of maintenance and instead of fixing it they just boarded it off and used traffic cones to block the entrance. Now you have to drive or walk to one of the neighboring beaches and walk your way back to what used to be accessible with a two minute walk to your room. The only reason this place gets two stars is because of the staff, they are all very nice and willing to help with limited resources as much as they can. It saddens me to say that we won't be back until something massive changes or we see tons of reviews about how this place has returned to its former glory.

MC B.

Yelp
The only thing going for this place is the location and lack of any other restaurants. Simple lunch menu with very limited options. We were the second people in for lunch and after 45 minutes we tried to find out the status of our order Our server Ruby ignored us most of our time there. As most of the people who came in after us were served and leaving I gave her 5 minutes to produce our food or we were leaving. Miraculously it arrived a few minutes later. Unfortunately granddaughters burger was seriously burnt and the fish and chips were also overcooked The clam chowder was possibly the worst we have ever had. Save your money and eat a tuna fish sandwich. You will be happier

Yelp
My family has been coming here for the last 5 years and this year was an absolute disaster. The rooms were decently cleaned and after a few days into our stay housekeeping stopped coming by. One day we decided to leave the resort and drive an hour away to a new beach we hadn't explored yet. We get a call telling us we need to head back to clean our room out so the new guest could stay. Our rooms and our stay were set in our reservation email and they tell us our stay is shorter than what we paid and that we'll have to move to accommodate everyone. Come to find out they were making room for a family who showed up a year early for their reservation. My family had to move from our beautiful cabin into an oversized cabin with no fridge for two days then into a smaller cabin for another two nights. Moving from cabin to cabin wasn't on our agenda and they handled it poorly. They didn't apologize or help in anyway. We put a lot of money into that place because we've found a place to make memories. Not sure if we'll come back next year.

Yelp
We loved this place. We spent the day exploring rain forests and waterfalls then headed to Kalaloch Lodge to finish our evening. Why I loved this place so much? 1. Beautiful views of the ocean and tree of life nearby. 2. Cabins were quaint, nice and clean. 3. Cabins were kind of secluded and off-the-grid. 4. They had a store and restaurant, so we had everything we could possibly need. 5. Easy access to the beach. I went down to the beach around 6 am to watch the sunrise. I had the entire beach to myself. I want to go back. I really really liked the place. I was a little disappointed by the restaurant food. I got a burger. But nothing that would have lowered this review from 5 stars. I highly recommend.

Yelp
I love Kalaloch. I grew up camping at the campground. Although as of recent My boyfriend and I got to spend our two year anniversary in a cabin overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the Kalaloch Creek. It was nice one day and then rainy. Which is what to expect for the PNW between two rain forests. If it wasn't for the amazing front desk attendant, Joey Rucciano, I don't think our services would have been as fantastic. He is a super friendly, very professional, and funny attendant. Working in hospitality can be rough as I've done so before, but this gentleman knows what he is doing. I went up to the lodge to buy a postcard and I noticed him multitasking without taking his view/attention off of the visitor checking in at that moment. I was impressed with his skills, and what looked to me as managerial material. I would recommend staying here in the cabins. They are nice and quaint. Even though our cabin was big as it was a three bed cabin, with a futon, wood stove, full kitchen, bathroom, and two oversized sitting chairs, there were only two of us and my dog. We enjoyed the quietness, and the windy rainy nights with a nice warm fire and I cooked some amazing foods. Kalaloch never seems to disappoint, and neither did Joey Rucciano.

Yelp
The exterior of the Seacrest House looks dilapidated but it is only to match the rustic nature of the ocean right? The interior didn't have a smell/odor/musk. The beds were a bit flimsy but comfortable. The room was comfort and warm. The shower was a bit small. The radiator was rusting a bit. We stayed on the ground floor and could hear people walking upstairs.

Yelp
I really want to do a 3 1/2 stars because this place IS a gem, but I really have a tough time justifying the cost vs. value. This was an impulse trip because of big weather that was coming in. We were dog-sitting our "grand-dog" and had to find a place that was pet-friendly. Hubby also insisted on a fireplace and heck, yeah, he wanted to be ON the bluff. So we're at $300+ for a cabin...which is more than twice what we normally want to spend on a cabin or condo. But, we weren't the only ones who had this idea, and I think, come Sunday night, everything was sold out. Our cabin was fine, but, given the price, I would have thought we'd have a little more luxe touches, like maybe a throw blanket, or maybe some pillows on the sofa...I'm sure some of these items would end up disappearing with guests, but heck...I'm paying $300 for a cabin, for crying out loud...can't we have some special touches? I know it's a demand thing: Kalaloch is the only game in town. They can charge what they want. The Creekside restaurant was open, for takeout only. We had to have a fried snack when we arrived because our room wasn't going to be ready until 4pm (we arrived at 2), and we ordered the tater tots. HUGE portion! Quite salty -- perhaps the kitchen can back off on the extra sprinkles a bit --- and we got the tarter sauce we asked for. They were hot, they were crisp...and I had to stop myself from eating them all. Again, only game in town, we paid $6 with a $2 tip. I guess, ultimately, I'm glad we did it. It was a nice cabin, we got a big weather hit and hubby felt it "was worth it." Me...not so much. Been there, did that...didn't get the shirt. Won't do it again...

Yelp
Love it soooo much And the food is huge portion They don't have too many options But the service is really friendly and good I love the lodge And it is sooo clean and really cute The only problem is I can hear clear noise at night Could not figure out why Is it animal around?

Yelp
This lodge's charm is entirely all location. Our 1 bedroom cabin was equipped with hole filled sheets, unwashed dishes (caked with whatever the previous guests dried meal was), mediocre water pressure, and no wifi. We paid 400$ a night for this. However, the beds were reasonably comfortable.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the my stay here. We ended up doing both dinner and breakfast while here and both were great. Some of the best clam chowder I had during my entire trip up and down the coast. And the breakfast buffet was very good and constantly being replenished with fresh items. The staff was awesomely friendly and helpful. My daughter noticed a bee trapped inside next to us at the window and asked the server for a glass and paper to catch it in so she could take it outside. The server grabbed them and then helped the bee outside herself. We spotted bunnies outside the window of the restaurant, too. And our room was very comfortable. I loved the touch of having a working fireplace and wood so that we could build a fire and warm up after watching the sunset on the cliff, because the view here is amazing.

Yelp
After reading so many iffy reviews, our stay in cabin 35 exceeded expectations. The cabins are rustic and cozy but clean. 35 has a partial view which we weren't exoecting! I wish we'd splurged for a bluff cabin, but now we know it is worth it for next time. Kitchen is very small & I was glad we brought only simple items to prepare. Although the restaurant here is closed things are open in town. It was nice to have the option to cook in but there were more options than I had envisioned. Everyone is visiting the peninsula right now so prices are higher than typical low season, but supply & demand, right? We thoroughly enjoyed two nights here & look forward to many future trips to this special spot. Oh, for you ev drivers, there are 4 chargers on site.
google avatar

Yelp
I love Kalaloch too and go back regularly. If you've stayed in enough National Park lodges you know you'll pay top dollar so I wasn't shocked. The restaurant is really pricey but there's nothing else within 20 miles so try to get a kitchenette if that's an issue. Had lunch & dinner 2 days. The food was good, the cocktails were excellent, and the service was GREAT (Adrienne, you are a tower of power). Customer service was friendly, patient, and efficient from front desk to housekeeping. Can't give 5 stars because this place is old and beat up from the constant coastal weather, but clean, cozy, and you'll NEVER have a better, closer, Pacific view than a bluff cabin.

Yelp
The location and beauty of the ocean are what you're paying for when booking. The buildings themselves are a little outdated but decently equipped. We stayed in the Seacrest building and it smelled and looked like a 70's ski chalet. The location is a decent distance (30 minutes) from Forks and about 15 minutes to the Hoh Rain Forest exit. The main building has a restaurant with food served during all three meals. I ordered the Tree of Life breakfast sandwich and it was very good. The staff was also very friendly and helpful and the registration/gift shop has a wonderful fireplace to sit in front of while you wait for your food to go. There is also a mercantile with some groceries, souvenirs, and an espresso machine. I don't know if I'd stay again but it's worth a try once just for the access to the ocean and the unique location.

Yelp
This review applies to the café only, not to the lodging. I stopped by this café after visiting the Hoh rainforest, and I was pretty famished. I ordered a Caesar salad, which looked delicious. The lettuce and shrimp were fresh and should have been tasty, but for some reason the salad had zero flavor. After I was nearly finished, it occurred to me that perhaps they had completely forgotten to add the Caesar dressing. I guess I'll never know. I did enjoy the stunning view from the outside deck while eating, which was the best part of my stop there.

Yelp
I've stayed in the suite (main building) & the cabins. The suite is above the restaurant. The workers come in at like 6 am and are screaming and laughing as they set up. So it's very unpleasant. And impossible to sleep. The tv didn't work & we were told NOT to use the stairs down from the suite as they were in disrepair & unsafe. The cabins have mediocre kitchen items. You're best bringing in your own. Once I brought my dog. And my parents had another cabin w their dog. You're paying a dog fee. Now this is the kicker...when we both checked out THEY ACCUSED US OF EACH HAVING MORE DOGS THAN WE EACH HAD (1 each) & tried to CHARGE US EXTRA DOG FEES!!! No joke. They were combative & aggressive. It was BIZARRE. The restaurant is mediocre. It is also double what you'd pay for diner food (& it is diner food). Fish & chips is like $25. This is NOT fine dining.

Yelp
Only ate at Lodge. Food meh, service sub-meh. The view was the winner. Look elsewhere.

Yelp
First I would like to say that every year I look forward to going to Kalaloch for my birthday splurging on a bluff cabin for the weekend until now. I will no longer be going to Kalaloch which is one of my favorite places in Washington. This year we were placed in cabin #8 on the bluff and there was no longer any fencing on the bluff just caution tape. On our second night we noticed that about 5 feet of the bluff had collapsed. So here it is with 3 more nights to go we let the front desk know and they switched our cabins. 8:30 at night in the pouring rain we had to pack up and move. I spent almost $2000 for this weekend and when I checked out and asked if there was any compensation for us being displaced after being put in an unsafe area and the response was "No" and that was it. They never apologized for our displacement and I know it was unsafe as the next day they shut the cabin down. Why would you put someone in danger like that?

Yelp
A pleasant roadside surprise during an Olympic National Park camping trip back in 2012. We needed to grab a bite on our way down 101 and enjoyed a well-made burger with fries and delicious fish & chips. The view from our table allowed us to continue to enjoy the beauty of the area. Definitely would recommend!

Yelp
As much as I look forward to having breakfast here before I drive on to Ruby Beach and the rainforest, I have to say the breakfast is not as well made anymore. At least the view from the restaurant window hasn't changed. That's still worth it to me.

Yelp
We didn't stay at the lodge, just stopped by for espresso and bathroom. The bathroom is convenient, clean, has a confidence-inspiring flush, and provides a good handwashing situation with hot water and an automatic paper towel dispenser. A very appreciated amenity for drivers passing through on the 101. As for the little espresso corner in the Kalaloch Lodge's mini mart, I got a small chai with oat milk for $4.12 and it was not very good. It tasted like sugar and chemicals. Kudos for offering several non-dairy milks, though! Didn't try the coffee or espresso so they could be amazing at that for all I know, but not worth it if chai is your goal. Overall it's cool that they have an espresso corner at the lodge.

Yelp
This hotel had probably the worst beds I've ever (tried) to sleep on. For $350 a night I would expect to be able to have a reasonable place to sleep. Instead, I woke up every hour on a bed that obviously needed to be upgraded. I was left with several days of pain after on night of poor accomodation. Location, beautiful. Service, friendly and helpful. Food, okay. All overshadowed by old furniture. My wife had the same issue and called. Was told she'd receive a return call from the manager, which never happened. Would have been a nice opportunity for service recovery, which instead made us feel like our concern was unimportant. I would not recommend this place as there are a few other nice options in the area. EDIT: I was contacted by email and told the beds were examined and were fine. So.. there you have it, I don't know what I'm talking about. Not the service I would expect at this price point. At all.

Yelp
Cabins and views are amazing. I would give a 4-5 star for the rooms. Get a cabin or room with kitchenette and bring your own food. The Creekside restaurant used to be quite lovely with fresh clam pasta, great seafood and excellent cocktails. It has not recovered or attempted to recover since Covid closure. Even in peak summer, it has limited overpriced options. The waitstaff were very rude and attempted to overcharge. Lake Quinault lodge is 40 minutes away, we stop there for an amazing breakfast on our way home.

Yelp
Fun fact: It's pronounced "Kway-lock Lodge". Now that you know how to read good, here's my experience in their "2Q Cabin with Wood Stove". Kalaloch Lodge's location is so picturesque on a gorgeous Pacific beach in Olympic National Park. When we arrived, we saw a dozen grey whales flipping their fins and blowing sea very close to shore! Seriously!!! Checking in was a little awkward and slow, but we were enjoying the view of the ocean during the process. Our lodge was rustic, yet clean and comfortable. There was a wood stove fireplace (we received firewood around noon daily), kitchen with a microwave, range, mini fridge, coffee machine, and utensils, a sofa, kitchen table, bathroom with stand-up shower, a queen bed in the main area, and another queen bed in a "room" (without a door). With the comfy accommodations, we didn't even miss the wifi or phone service! Ok well maybe a little... We didn't dine at the restaurant onsite, but we did buy some groceries from the Mercantile to make food in our kitchen. We enjoyed days walking the beaches and nights with friends by the big bon fire. It was pretty damn blissful and refreshing. Then we witness our friends get married on Ruby Beach and we were just all freaking pinching ourselves. Though the location and scenery could be described as "priceless"... there IS a price for a cabin, and ours was $250/night. So get some buddies together and cram them in and everyone share the one bathroom and have a good ol' time for more bang for you buck.

Yelp
It took me a while to finally write this review. I stayed here with my husband for our wedding anniversary. It seemed beautiful from the photos and I read quite a few positive reviews about the restaurant so we were excited to stay at such a beautiful place. My interactions with the staff were pleasant. Everyone was polite, friendly, and professional. The woman who checked us in was very helpful and filled us in on the things Kalaloch had to offer. When we realized we booked the wrong room (we wanted a room with a fireplace or woodburning stove), she helped us get the right reservation and switch rooms. We stayed at the Seacrest House and that's where the trouble began. While the room appeared clean, there was a strong odor of dust and mildew. I knew Kalaloch was rustic, but the odor was a bit much. I decided to simply make the best of it since we were only staying for one evening. I figured one night couldn't hurt.... We left our things in our room and went to explore the beach. The man made stair access to the beach had been destroyed by ocean waves at some point. There was a pile of slippery rocks at the bottom so getting to the beach was risky. The beach was beautiful. We got there just in time to watch the sunset. Afterwards, we headed up to the restaurant for dinner. Again, the restaurant staff were great. Unfortunately the food wasn't. Everything was terribly bland. We had a cheese plate, a ceaser salad, and a bowl of clam chowder. We were really disappointed so we decided to load up on snacks from the gift shop and retire to our room to hang out. We got back to our foul smelling room and tried to enjoy the rest of our evening. After about an hour, my nose started running and I started to sneeze a bit. After two hours, my right nostril could not stop dripping. I had to blow my nose every 5 minutes. I eventually ran out of the hotel provided tissue paper and had to switch to toilet paper to blow my nose. As time went on, the intensity of my symptoms got increasingly worse. I would blow my nose and immediately after, I would go into sneezing fits and that's when I realized the toilet paper was probably stored in a very dusty place and I was just inhaling dust. I switched to a tshirt at that point. While I appreciate Kalaloch's appeal to disconnect with no cell service or tv, I really wished they had in room phones so people can contact the front desk when something like this happens. The gift shop was closed at this point (couldn't buy any allergy meds) and it was too cold/windy to walk all the way to the front desk. I never got to sleep. I spent the entire night trying to find a comfortable position to lay my head so my nose could drip. It was MISERABLE. I was having an allergic reaction. When morning came, I tried to take a steamy shower to help soothe my nasal cavity but the hot water ran out after 5 minutes. I quickly got out of the freezing shower and tried to turn on the floor heaters to warm up. The floor heaters let out the scent of burnt dust and that was the final straw for me. I was in tears. My husband was able to purchase some claritin from the gift shop before we left, but the rest of our vacation was spent trying to calm down a severe sinus infection. The corporation that owns the lodge need invest in some serious renovations. I understand that mildew/mold happens when you're next to the beach, but this was truly unacceptable.

Yelp
I would describe this as a lackluster experience given the price point. I'm all about utilizing fresh and local ingredients but it seems that they missed the mark on service and presentation. We arrived at 8 pm for dinner (they close at 9 on weekdays) and received some weird "maybe we can seat you" vibes despite the restaurant having half of its tables available. After a few minute wait we were seated and explored the menu that offered a large variety and impressive number of locally sourced ingredients like meat, cheese, honey and beer. We kicked things off with the $15 cheese plate that offered a berry jam, lavender honey (local), three cheeses and crackers. The items on the platter were all delicious but the presentation was terrible. White plate with the honey and jam oozing around (harder to scoop up). I was also disappointed that they didn't present the cheeses at the table. One of the best parts is knowing what you're eating. It makes the $15 feel like a great bang for your buck. The local root beer on tap is delicious. Order it and thank us later. As for the soups, they were a-okay, large serving sizes and I appreciated that they offered a veggie option via the Washington lentil soup. Before signing off, I'd like to note that this restaurant is tucked inside a resort overlooking the ocean in a one horse town. I imagine that during the day the views are incredible. The casual, unplugged resort offers a small gift shop as well.

Yelp
Kalaloch Lodge was a nice surprise after a long road trip and exploring in the wet weather typical this time of the year. I had booked a room online here last minute since it was the only property left with had a room availability allowing dogs. It was expensive, but I didn't have any other option. What I didn't realize was that I got an entire lodge/cabin (not a room) right on the coast off Kalaloch Beach. It made the expensive cost worth. I loved the property! The lodge was very cozy with two comfortable beds, a kitchen and wood burning fire place. The bathroom was nicely stocked with towels and eco-friendly toiletries dispenser. The kitchen was also nicely stocked with cooking and eating utensils, better than even an Airbnb house rental! There is not much in terms of shops and restaurants around the property, but there is a small store for basic things (think gas station store) and a restaurant with great food onsite. The staff were all nice, helpful and friendly. I enjoyed my stay very much from the moment I walked in soaking wet to check in. I wish I could stay extra nights, but it was also a double whammy Valentine's Day and President's Day weekend. I think my only con is that there is no wifi. Cell reception is already hard to get out there so wifi would've been nice. I would definitely come back here again!

Yelp
Overall a very relaxing place to stay. If the dining were better I would have given it 5 stars but that is a bit lacking. The cabins were nice (more two-star than three-star accommodations) and the access to the beach is perfect. Most of the cabins were occupied while we were there, however, the place didn't feel overly busy. A very bright spot was the Merchantile on site which has some basic groceries and decent coffee but what put it over the top was the two employees that greeted us each morning with a smile and answers to all of our questions about the park and the surrounding communities. The two employees, Dori and Chuck, added cheerfulness to each day that really put our stay over the top.

Yelp
Fantastic (expensive), pet-friendly lodge that is part of the Olympic National Parks. Beach access. Recommend if u don't mind spending the $$. There's a full grocery store/coffee shop/ ice cream store on site with firewood, pizza, postcards, etc. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Restaurant is convenient and food is ok. If you don't mind the drive, Lake Quinault and La Push (Riverside Restaurant) have better/cheaper options.
