"The Kalaupapa Lookout is a must for visitors to Molokai. 'The lookout sits on the edge of a 2,000-foot cliff where you can see the expansive Pacific Ocean with Kalaupapa peninsula sprawled before you,' says Miki'ala Pescaia, a Molokai-born Native Hawaiian cultural practitioner and interpretive park ranger at Kalaupapa National Historical Park." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Amazing view of Kaulapapa and nice history plaques about the history of the people and area. There is also a short easy hike through the pine forest to the phallic rock that was worth learning about while you're up there at the lookout. Nice restroom facilities also!

Beautiful lookout to Kalaupapa. Since the trail is blocked all we can do was watching from the lookout. They got a few boards to read about history and important people.

What a gorgeous and breathtaking view! You can drive up to there too! If you want to get closer to view the Napali coast, you can walk partially on the trail, but it is very risky since it is slippery. If you’re up to it I think it’s totally worth it!

This is the best viewpoint on Molokai. The times we've been here the wind has been howling and the weather is moving over Kalaupapa. The sheerness of the cliff is so impressive, it's hard to imagine what kind of trail is required to safely get down. The trail from the parking lot to the lookout is short and easy, this is worth the visit while on Molokai.

This lookout is the best way to see the Kalaupapa Peninsula if you don't have a permit to go down the trail. Breathtaking view. It's also the way to see the *ahem* Phallic Rock. A great spot to visit on your journey around Molokai, for sure.

Such beautiful views! You will be stauend, because this part of the Island you won't be able to access easily otherwise. Go and check out the phallic rock on the other side... definitely something to explore if you are already there! In case you need to use the bathroom: Very clean bathrooms!! Just a short drive from wherever you are, so why miss it! On the way back "post a nut" in the post office close to the airport (Post Office open: Mo-Fr).

Short hike to the lookout and to Phallic Rock. We went early in the am. The weather was cool and breezy.

Beautiful lookout! Love the information on the history of Father Damien and the leper colony. Unfortunately the north side is still shut down unless you fly, so this was the best opportunity to learn about the crazy history of what happened not even that long ago!
