We have just spent 8 days at the Kalbarri Anchorage Caravan Park. As with all caravan parks I attend, I read the reviews to assess what we are to expect. |I had noted that many campers had reported being berated about the speeding in the park (8 km).|I fully understand that this is for the safety of the campers and children and fully agree to driving at walking pace in a park. |On arriving I made sure that our friends and I entered the park at walking pace (my speedometer was not even registering 5km), on checking in with the very helpful and polite lady at reception we were told that the manager had just contacted her and advised here that we were speeding and to slow down. Ok I let this slide and said nothing.|On arrival at our allotted site we noted that the green mat had a large oily mess on it that looked like human vomit. My wife spoke to the lovely lady at reception, and she said no problem she would send someone down to clean it. | 5 minutes later a guy pulled up in a Ute and approached my wife. She explained the issue and asked if it could be cleaned.|The reply from this guy was as follows, |“don’t you have a mat? “ |No, we do not.|Can we just have it cleaned please? |“Change your attitude or I won’t clean it” |On seeing me walk around the van his attitude changed, and he proceeded to clean the mess.|After chatting with other campers, it seems that the same staff member had been storming around the park having a go at many people. |I have been camping for over 40 years and have never come across this attitude before.|I am not sure if this guy is the manager or just a guy on a power trip but if he thinks that his attitude is acceptable in a customer service industry then he has a lot to learn. |Interesting how one staff member on a power trip can effect future business.
