This Gorgeous Skywalk Will Give You Unforgettable Views of an Australian Gorge

"The skywalk is located on the West Loop lookout over Murchison River Gorge. It has two viewing points that extend 25 meters (about 82 feet) and 18 meters (about 59 feet) over the edge, providing a feeling of floating in the sky over the valley. It was designed by architect Craig Poletti and includes paths, shelters, and wheelchair access. The skywalk project embraces the heritage of the indigenous Nanda people, featuring a welcome sign in the Nanda language and artwork by Nanda artists." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Although we didn’t have the luck to see Murchison Gorge from the Skywalk under a bright sun, the view from the platform was still captivating—even in the rain. The wide-angle panorama from over 100 meters above the gorge offers a breathtaking sight of the orange-colored, stratified Tumblagooda Sandstone exposed on the cliff. Watching the Murchison River wind its way through ancient sandstone, formed hundreds of millions of years ago, was an amazing experience.

Jul 2025 Came here during school holidays. Even though there were a lot of people coming and going, the Skywalk doesn't feel too packed. There's a cafe there and toilets. There's a lot of vantage points to take photos from, and the information available is really interesting. Entry fees into the Kalbarri National Park is $17 per vehicle.

What an amazing sight to see! The gorge below is so beautiful and massive! This is definitely something off the bucket list and I'd recommend for anyone! It is definitely a little daunting to look down and see the huge amount of space below you - but if you keep your eyes on the horizon you should be fine 🙂

An absolutely epic spot that will blow your mind! The views are jaw-dropping and really make you feel small in the best way possible. Nature at its rawest — paired with surprisingly well-kept facilities — makes this a must-visit, even if you have to battle an army of flies to get there. Totally worth it! Pro tip: hit the trails as early as you can. Depending on the season, the heat can get brutal fast, and some trails will shut down when it gets too extreme. Bring loads of water, lace up some solid hiking shoes, and get ready for an adventure you won’t forget. This place is wild and absolutely unforgettable!

Absolutely superb…ten out of ten and then some…visually stunning and a feat of engineering when you consider the location. Definitely visit if you get the chance and opportunity. Great cafe as well, the scones were delicious! Ps…we counted over 30 hats way down under the skywalk…SO HANG ONTO THEM,😂…it windy!

Stunning location, magnificent views that really put nature and existence in to perspective assisted by well kept facilities and definitely worth the drive despite the absolutely ridiculous amount of flies here! Make it as early as possible when you’re coming here depending on the time of the year it can get scorching hot and the trails close depending on this. Plenty of water and some good shoes is also recommended if you’re planning on using one of the trails!

Great view of the river and easy to get a photo of the 400 million years old formations and learn about first nations history. Remember to keep a hold of your hat and drink bottle or you will add to the collection at the bottom of the valley. The loop, nature's window and z-bend are a little more adventurous.
