What an absolute gem of a place - first and foremost great, great food - freshly cooked on the hot coals. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The location is lovely with a great ambiance. Go out of your way a little and visit - the detour is well worth it. The lakeside cafes are full of tourists and bus trips - for a few miles more you can have authentic food and everything you love about Greece. 🇬🇷🤗🤗🤗

Flawless. Such great Greek food. The meat is cooked so well. The salads are massive. The dakos was an absolute highlight. Prices are incredible, so reasonable for such great food and the service was brilliant. Perfect dinner.

We had a wonderful dining experience at a traditional Cretan taverna that was recommended to us by a local. The atmosphere was authentic and cozy, with outdoor seating in a charming rustic setting that made us feel like we were truly experiencing the local culture. We enjoyed a selection of different meats specially prepared by the chef — everything was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. As a surprise, we were offered a complimentary dessert and a glass of traditional raki, which added a lovely touch to the evening. Our kids especially loved the tzatziki sauce, and my personal favorite were the fried zucchini flowers stuffed with cheese — absolutely delicious! Every dish was fresh and homemade, and you could really feel the heart and soul of Cretan cuisine in every bite. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy genuine local food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere!

The best food on our entire vacation, great service and friendly, welcoming staff. They treat you with bottle of water and some meze with bread before meal, and after meal, they serves free desert and aperitif with the bill. Prices are very reasonable and portions are big. Recommended 100/10!

Super Great place. The atmosphere of a Cretan mountain village and flavors... Very tasty appetizers.. salads, meat.. for dessert cheesecake with filo pastry as a free gift. The owner is very nice and smiling, the service is perfect. We highly recommend it!!

This place is so authentic, it that it should be illegal, lol! Seriously, this tavern is nestled in the foothills with an amazingly authentic Greek cuisine and service that is equally matched. A must while visiting the Rethymno area. Don't miss a chance to visit this place!
