Kalimna Woods Cottages

Fantastic little rustic cabin. The property was absolutely beautiful amongst the trees. Jack was very helpful. We had a spa bath nd a fireplace to keep our stay cosy. The play equipment for my daughter was an extra bonus. The only negative was the barking dog keeping us awake at night. Not sure if it belonged to another guest but it barked all night long.

Love staying here. The cottages are super cute and comfortable. Jack the owner is amazing nothing is trouble with anything. Love the peace and quiet have stayed there on two different occasions. Definitely will be back. If you want peace and quiet with only a 5 minute drive to Lakes entrance. Pricing is also great. Much prefer a cottages with cooking facilities, wood fire,cute wild life and chicken that roam around the property. Great for families and couples.

These are nice cabins set on a bushy property. It is generally peaceful, but depending on your cabin location you can hear the main road traffic occasionally. But generally the cabins although aged are clean and comfortable. The surrounding area pleasant and relaxing and is an easy 5 minute walk to the kalimna pub. P.S. the firewood is $15 for a tub and a bucket of kindling not $15/ night. Unless you burn a lot of timber. I would recommend this place and not hesitate staying again.

“Nice bush setting close to town, but the cottage wasn’t clean, the bed was uncomfortable, and the TV didn’t work well. The fireplace was great, but firewood cost extra. Biggest issue was a dog barking from 4am nonstop, plus bugs in the room — made the stay unpleasat.

Our booking was double-booked by the property. The owner first tried to push us to reschedule at full price. Only after we refused did they offer a discounted reschedule to the next day—which is unacceptable given the mistake was theirs. We checked the forecast before agreeing: the original date had great weather; the forced new date brought terrible weather, leaving almost no outdoor activities. That loss of experience was entirely avoidable. The room itself was a disappointment: Damp and cold throughout, with a persistent clammy smell Only one small air-conditioner for heating, which struggled to warm the space Overall uncomfortable and not what you expect for the price To make matters worse, the owner’s attitude was poor—defensive rather than apologetic, and unwilling to take responsibility for the double-booking. I do not recommend staying here. At a minimum, guests deserve reliable bookings, fair solutions when the property makes a mistake, and a room that’s dry, warm, and comfortable.

Awesome place and the owner are really kind. The cottage was clean and very close to the beach, it is a good the place for crabbing and the shopping centre. Will choose it again if I visit lake entrance again.

Absolutely loved our 3 night break here in early April. The setting was beautiful, in natural bushland, and although there are 10 cottages we had complete peace and privacy. We had a little trouble tuning the TV but management couldn't have been more helpful. Spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable beds. I would definitely stay again. Thank you for our VERY enjoyable stay.

Book at own risk!! We were placed in cottage 10. Upon arrival, we noticed all the windows to the cottage were open, though it was raining… When we opened the door we were immediately hit with an overpowering waft of stale cigarette smoke. The cottage is dated and quite dirty. We noticed one of the beds had been laid in and not made up and all the comforters smelt. We sat for 5 minutes in the lounge trying to talk ourselves into staying, however, the stale smoke smell was quite overpowering to the point you could taste it. We decided to immediately leave and book another hotel in town. The cottage is not walking distance to town, hard to access and will need a four wheel drive to get out of there. Unfortunately we were not given a refund for our 5 minute stay. Very disappointing.
