My experience with Kalimna Cottages, booked via Booking.com, was profoundly disappointing and deeply concerning. Despite receiving a confirmed reservation, Kalimna Cottages cancelled the booking on their end—without notice, explanation, or accountability. To make matters worse, they refused to refund the full booking fee, despite being the party that initiated the cancellation.
Equally troubling is the lack of support from Booking.com, who facilitated the transaction and have failed to ensure that guests are treated fairly. There appears to be no protection in place for consumers when properties like Kalimna act in bad faith.
This experience reflects a serious lapse in both ethical standards and professional responsibility. Charging a guest for accommodation that was never honoured, and then refusing to issue a refund, is completely unacceptable.
I will never book with Kalimna Cottages again, and I strongly advise others to be extremely cautious. I also urge Booking.com to review their relationship with this property and reconsider their policies around cancellations and guest protection.
This kind of conduct damages trust and undermines the integrity of the entire booking platform.
