Don't miss the castle if visiting Kalmar! The mummy exhibition is both interesting and fascinating at the same time. Make sure to set aside a half day if you want to go through the castle & mummy exhibition the same day. Comfortable shoes, you will be stepping stones for hours. The park outside the castle is very nice to relax in. You can find rare trees and flowers planted there, each with a little sign of name and year it was planted. Some are very old.

This was our second visit, and we loved it again. They have fun stuff for kids to do, and the castle itself is interesting to explore. The food in the café is good and reasonably priced. The staff all speak English and many seemed to speak German as well (and Swedish, obviously).

There are so many things to see and learn inside the castle, it is probably one of the main tourist site you HAVE to visit while in Sweden, at least if you are fond of history and architecture. You could spend the whole day inside and never feel tired. The castle' state of conservation is truly remarkable and the depiction of life in the middle age/renaissance is astounding. It is obvious the staff worked overtime to provide such a level of precision. Don't forget to look up for the ceilings, they are beautiful. I visited the castle during the Häxor exhibit and it was both immersive and moving, even for a foreigner, I can't even comprehend the amount of work that was needed to create such a masterpiece, even the poster is a work of art. I don't know who directed it but they are very talented. When you're done visiting, climb up the walls and enjoy the view. All in all, I came back with 400 pictures of the castle, that speaks for itself. It is hands down one of the best places in Sweden.

Amazing castle with very big and high rooms. Worth exploring at all times. Try to find your way to the ramparts.

The castle was really fascinating. The souvenir shop was also very interesting but a bit pricey. Recommend visiting!

So so castle as European castles go. Probably interesting for kids, but the “restored” rooms were nothing spectacular. It took less than an hour to see it all.

Beautiful castle. It's already worth a visit to just walk around the castle and appreciate the scenery, especially when the weather is nice. Inside it is also very pretty. The castle is in good condition. I also want to highlight the museum shop. It has some very nice souvenirs like leather-bound notebook or handmade candy. The café has some tasty things, but is not cheap. I paid 180 Sek for one adult.

Very beautiful castle, both inside and outside. Even when people can just walk around outside and around the gardens I would recommend to go inside. Is a very beautiful castle 🏰
