This “Hell” is designed as a one-stop for many tour groups thus it is busier with many tour buses dropping off tourists every other minute. Can get cramped and noisy. Has 2 large pools of different kinds to see, but not many good photo opportunities because of the crowd. There’s a food corner at the end of the walk around the pools offering steamed food and Aso milk. Had the milk and the steamed pudding which were delicious. Not many areas to enjoy your snack as there are other tourists crowding into your personal space. Virtually no space to enjoy the foot bath as well because of, yet again, too many tourists. If you want to just visit one “Hell” and be done with it all after seeing the hot springs, then come to this one bright and early. But if you value the experience as a whole, I would recommend coming to this last.

Went on a Saturday afternoon, the cable car was smooth and the colours of autumn is not here yet. The place up there is amazing! Clouds surround us throughout the time we were up there, had a walk here and there. Love it!

The most crowded jigoku, but the one where you experience it all. Kamado Jigoku isn’t as big compared to Umi Jigoku or Chinoike Jigoku, but if you’re on a tight schedule or didn’t get the full jigoku pass, Kamado Jigoku is the perfect short-and-sweet summary of them all. Nevertheless, Umi Jigoku was the most eye-opening for me.

the most popular onsen in Betfu. it's famous but not much to see & not much place to watch. please care of entry fee for 7 onsen. package ticket is much cheaper than paying separately, but I don't know it's price effective. Just visit 2 or 3 onsen haha not much special

It was a very good experience. The egg and remune combo was fancy. The footbath was very crowded? So I did not get a chance to experience it. I suggest a weekday visit, may have less people

One of the better hells in the Beppu area, with multiple different kinds of hot springs in different colours. If you don’t want to visit all the hells, I recommend checking out this one to get the most out of the experience

There’s a lot of things to do. From eating onsen eggs, bedrock bath spa, drinking hot spring water, and steaming hot spring baths for hands and feet.

The staff will perform a small little trick. At least they did when we were there. See last video. Also, be sure to try the onsen boiled eggs with the sauce. We ended up loving it and bought several bottles of the sauce.
