Kamakura Cocon Hotel

Awesome! Walking down a beautiful stone path, you can view many elegant traditional Japanese trees on both sides of the path. The calming view is enriched by a 170 year old house from the Edo period. The Kamakura Cocon hotel is an ancient building that has survived for a long 170 years. Although the house itself is old, but it has been renovated and rebuilt in some places. The decorations and interior can be described exquisite at least, with modern touches around the walls of a traditional household, a starking image that represents Japan’s modern progress in the sense of social development. The design of the hotel is not it’s only appeal, another gem of the Cocon hotel is the staff. Polite. Caring. Amazing. These are the three words that can describe the wonderful staff of Cocon hotel the best. The Japanese people are known for their politeness, but the staff take sincerity and respect to another level. They are caring and will leap at the chance to tackle even your smallest problems with all they’ve got. The exclusive and personalised style of help they give is simply different to any other hotel we have been to. Last of all, their attitude. The amount of effort the staff used to keep us feeling safe and satisfied simply blew me away the moment we stepped in. With unwavering smiles, kind faces and bright laughs everywhere you go, we deeply felt the love and welcoming feelings radiating off the staff in waves. In other words, their service is unprecedented by least, a five star review for sure. Although some may feel slightly lost in the many crossroads when travelling to the hotel, you must understand that the slightly remote environment only adds to the relaxing experience that the visit brings. A quiet neighbourhood is a huge “yes” if you are aiming for a peaceful, simple holiday. A final touch to top it off, the food. I wouldn’t dare say it’s the best in Japan, but it definitely is worth a shot. Carefully designed Italian-Japanese cuisine with a kind chef is one of the most amazing experiences you can get. Be sure to reserve the bar table, it comes with many advantages like being able to watch the chef himself cook your meal in front of your eyes. Although it’s called a bar table, the privacy is actually higher than most restraints as it is simply a counter between you and the kitchen inside a secluded room. The ruby of our meal was called “Truffle”. A simple yet complex dish that is composed of homemade pasta and truffles in a chicken and beef flavoured clear soup. Accompanied by many different cups of Italian wine, the meal made my taste buds dance. We all had an amazing dining experience for sure! All in all, we had a splendid time at the Kamakura Cocon hotel. A sure recommendation when you’re going anywhere near!

This is a lovely place, with brilliant staff, and fantastic rooms and food. We were married at Cocon in 2023 and had an amazing time, so we revisited for 3 nights in September 2024. The room we stayed in was beautiful and large, with two beds in the upstairs bedroom (with TV) overlooking the main room, a living room with DVD player, sofas, a table, etc. There is a large tatami room as well with a table if you prefer the Japanese style. The fridge was stocked and replenished daily, as was the coffee. Everything you want is supplied. The bathroom is spacious and has an adjoining shower room with a hot tub bath. You can view the garden from the bath, which is lovely. In addition, the entrance has a small toilet room with luxurious sink, and the corridor to the room (still private for you) backs out onto the beautiful garden. You can open the doors and go out. The food is excellent, and the chef cares so much about making the guests satisfied. He was willing and able to make many adjustments for us, and we appreciated that wholeheartedly. Dining in the private room is special, but dining in the main room with the chef is so interesting and fun. Maybe we preferred that overall. You can really see the love that the chef puts into his job. The staff were wonderful, and we'd consider them as friends. The spoken English was absolutely fine, as there is a fluent English speaker working there. Additionally, the other staff speak english to a very admirable level, even those that claim they can't speak English 😂 As a treat, this is a lovely place to stay. Kamakura is also amazing, and there's plenty to see there or in the surrounding area. At Cocon, the only noises you'll hear are the cicada outside. It's so tranquil. I miss Cocon, Hiroshi-san, Maki-san, and all the staff so much already. I hope we can visit again!

Each around 900 square feet with a cosy ambiance. I loved my blissful multiple soaks in the bathtub||@ the hotel|First class service, two staff ran out to help me park my car, got my luggage, one disappeared with it and the other brought me into a dining room overlooking the exquisite garden, along with a chocolate cake and champagne. |The suite maybe 1855 with beams and frames looking quite antique, but the stay was super comfortable. Need anything and you can whatsapp the gracious staff who will fuss over you until end of your stay ||Food & drinks. |Excellent meals. Italian fine dinner. Then an indulgent but virtuous breakfast of greens, miso soup, grilled fish etc||Prices. |Moderate $730 including delicious dinner & breakfast ||Rating. |5/5

レストランで利用しました。 170年前の古い蔵を改築してレストランと宿泊施設へ。レストランは個室もありますが、カウンターで調理方法を見ながら喋るのも良き。 創作系イタリアンでしたが、プチフュージョン系でやり過ぎていないので良き。 素材も良くて太刀魚や和牛が最高に美味しい。 夏野菜も素晴らしい。

彼との記念日や、誕生日で、毎回お世話になっているお店です。 旬の食材を使ったお料理は、素材そのものの旨みを引き立てているように、感じられます。何を食べてもほんとうに、美味しいです！ また、シェフの方やお店の方々の人柄も素敵で、古今さんに来るといつも胃も心も満たされて帰ることができます。 いつも、ありがとうございます！

最高に楽しくて最高に美味しいレストランでした！ シェフのこだわりとユーモアとそれを更に超えてくるお料理の味と本全てが理想や想像を遥かに超えてくる本当に素敵な時間でした！ ワインもペアリング似ていただいたのですが全て美味しくたくさんのお話を下さり楽しくもありました！ もう鎌倉にきたらぜーーーーっ対に行くべきです！ お料理も2ヶ月事に変わることから何回来ても楽しめる場所だと思いました。 またシェフもちろん全てのスタッフが本当に素敵でした！ 支配人も最高です！

Niché au coeur d'un écrin de nature apaisante, cet hôtel incarne l'élégance discrète et le raffinement sans ostentation, où chaque détail est pensé pour offrir confort et sérénité. Un accueil parfait et un service irréprochable, à la fois attentionné et discret. Les repas étaient savoureux, préparés avec soin par un cuisiner sympathique qui n'a pas hésité à venir échanger quelques mots avec nous. La suite allie harmonie et raffinement dans un décor inspiré de la tradition nippone. Tout était parfait, merci pour ce merveilleux séjour!

神奈川鎌倉の予約が難しいイタリアン&フレンチはレストラン古今ココンだ。小さい山に囲まれた自然いっぱいのロケーションにあるホテルにもなっている古民家がレストランなのだ。入店時から気分が上がる。大きく長いゆったりしたキッチンを囲んだカウンターでシェフの調理を眺める幸せ。魚、肉、野菜、その季節にちなんだ美味い具材を最も美味しく味わえる調理法、温度で出してくれる。全部ホスピタリティで味、美味しさにも影響する。デザートまでケースでサプライズ的に出してくれる。美味しいだけでなく楽しみもある良いお店だ。
