I have been a regular visitor to this restaurant for quite some time, and it was once among my favorite spots for a satisfying South Indian meal. Unfortunately, my recent visit left me disappointed, as the overall food quality seems to have declined noticeably.
I ordered the standard meals, which looked promising with a decent variety of items, but the taste was far from appealing. The flavors felt bland and lacked the freshness and balance this place was once known for. The dosa was passable—neither bad nor particularly impressive—but the uttapam stood out as the only dish that truly retained its earlier standard. It was well-cooked, soft, and flavorful. The coffee, too, was quite good—rich and aromatic, just the way South Indian filter coffee should be. These two items somewhat redeemed the experience, but not enough to offset the overall decline in food quality.
Service, on the other hand, continues to be commendable. The staff were polite, quick to respond, and maintained their professionalism even during busy hours. The ambience is fairly average; it gives a casual, functional vibe suitable for quick meals rather than a relaxed dining experience. However, the seating area is somewhat cramped, and the restaurant often feels congested, especially during peak hours. The narrow seating arrangements can make it slightly uncomfortable for longer stays.
Overall, while this restaurant still holds potential due to its service and select dishes like uttapam and coffee, the declining food quality needs urgent attention to regain its former charm.
