50 Best Restaurants in India, From Kasauli to Kolkata | Condé Nast Traveler

"Kamei assembles East and Southeast Asian flavors into a shareable menu—coconut sea bass ceviche with coriander-coconut leche de tigre, yuzu avocado on crisp rice cakes, siu mai and prawn tempura—while a lively dining room and playful cocktails (chili-spiked Palo-Mei, mango-basil Mai Tai riff) make it an exciting Asian crossroads in the city." - Karina Acharya

Hamachi, Karaage Chicken, Mushroom Truffle Fried Rice, Pad Krapow Gai, Chicken Adobo & Four Cousin's Merlot Rs. 13000/- Kaméi, Eldeco Centre, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi Pan Asian Fine Dining $$$$$ 29.11.2025 After today's meeting, my Bosses decided on an Dinner & asked me to look for a good place to eat with the only exception being 5 & 7 star hotels. Travelling back to my room, I searched Conde Nast Traveller's list of Best Restaurants in India 2025 & decided on Kaméi, a fine dining restaurant serving Pan Asian dishes which is No. 46 on their list. A simple reason on choosing it was that we have been eating a lot of spicy masala food the last couple of days & were looking for something with less masalas for a change. Kaméi was the perfect find. Anyway I'm not going to Review it as I did not pay so all I'm going to tell you was that it was a great experience & I had a wonderful time. Definitely a place you will want to check out next time you are in New Delhi.

We absolutely loved the seafood, the Andaman Crab and prawn roll and the shoyu salmon are on par with some of the finer restaurants in Tokyo or LA, we found the vegetarian items par for the course, loads of room for improvement there. The desserts are visually stunning and delectable, cocktails are amazing, esp. the bird eye chilli one. Loved and grateful that they accommodated our requests for certain changes in our meal and drinks !

Had an extremely disappointing experience at Kamei. Went for our anniversary dinner here with high hopes after the hype and all the glowing reviews we read only to be let down badly by the food. We ordered all veg fare - staring with edamame dimsums which were honestly the only dish which was ok. The tofu sesame nest was bland and dry and had a weird taste. Next we asked the sever to recommend something as we thought maybe we are selecting the wrong dishes. He said our lotus root is the best and crispy so we decided let’s try that. It came out and the first bite was bland , no salt no taste and soggy. Just limp lotus roots sautéed in some weird sauce. We immediately put our spoons down called the waiter and told him the feedback. Any high-end Restaraunt including a 5 star hotel takes feedback positively but they were more concerned about the fact that the dish has been ordered so they cannot now cancel it! We said we are def not paying for it. we asked them to share some main recommendations that will be edible - honestly at that point we were ready to walk off and go to to another place but it was very late. We ordered the mains - bland Cantonese noodles and a below average veg stir fry which if you ask me to describe was just edible. Disappointed we decided to head to Manan for dessert and change our horrible experience.

Kamei is a Japanese restaurant. The cocktails are nice, but if you like to have beer then they have only 2 beers available - Singha (Thailand) & Kirin Ichiban (Japanese). I hope they add more variety soon. Kamei is a Japanese surname that combines the characters for turtle and well. Symbolically, turtles represent longevity and wisdom in Japanese culture, while wells signify source or abundance. Thus, the name conveys a sense of enduring strength and a deep connection to life’s resources.

"I visited Kamei Asian at Eldigo Center in New Delhi, largely due to recommendations and the buzz surrounding this new hotspot. Walking in with zero expectations, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional experience that awaited me. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm smile, and the ambiance transported me to a different world. The interior design was impeccable, with perfect low lighting, comfortable seating arrangements, and bar chairs at just the right height. The décor was tasteful and inviting, setting the tone for a fantastic dining experience. Even at 7 p.m., when the restaurant was bustling with guests arriving and departing, the atmosphere remained calm and welcoming. What struck me most was the impeccable temperature control. Unlike many restaurants where the air conditioning can feel overwhelming, especially during peak hours, Kamei Asian maintained a comfortable ambiance throughout my visit. Even when the place was packed an hour later, the atmosphere remained relaxed and pleasant. The drinks were exceptional, and the origami-style menu was a creative touch. I highly recommend trying "The Life of a Turtle" – it was a standout. The food, however, was truly mind-blowing. The quality of the seafood was superb, with each dish expertly prepared and presented. The flavors were complex and well-balanced, showcasing the chef's skill and attention to detail. The front-of-house team was knowledgeable and attentive, knowing exactly what they were doing to ensure a seamless dining experience. The bar area was lively and well-designed, adding to the overall energy of the restaurant. The service team was constantly on their feet, smiling and catering to guests' needs with ease. What impressed me most was the attention to detail and the clear passion for delivering an exceptional dining experience. From the décor to the food and service, every aspect of Kamei Asian was well thought out and executed. If you're looking for a great dining experience in New Delhi, Kamei Asian is definitely a place to visit. With its excellent food, creative drinks, and welcoming atmosphere, it's sure to become a favorite among foodies and casual diners alike. I'll certainly be returning soon to experience more of what this fantastic restaurant has to offer."

Walked into Kamei Asian with high expectations, and honestly, it exceeded every one of them. The space is beautifully done — warm lighting, stylish interiors, and a lively yet comfortable vibe that instantly makes you settle in. It’s the kind of place that works equally well for a cozy dinner or a fun night out. The food is where Kamei truly shines. The dim sums were delicate and packed with flavour, easily some of the best I’ve had in a long time. The tuna nori tacos were fresh, crunchy, and bursting with bold flavours — a brilliant fusion dish. The pork belly was cooked beautifully — rich, juicy, and perfectly balanced with the accompaniments. Every plate felt thoughtfully crafted, not just visually but in taste as well. Dessert was the perfect finish — the honeycomb sponge with caramel and gelato was indulgent without being heavy. Even the cocktails deserve a mention — creative, well-balanced, and paired beautifully with the food. Overall, Kamei delivers on every front — ambience, service, food, and vibe. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. If you enjoy modern Asian food done right, this one is an absolute must-visit.

Kamei is a lovely place with a beautiful ambiance. The origami art piece resembling a dragon is mesmerizing! The food and service were exceptional. Our experience was further enhanced by the reservation team's help in accommodating us as walk-ins and their overall assistance. We're looking forward to visiting again soon!
