Thank you for a wonderful stay over the Christmas period. Just like to mention that our room was beautiful overlooking the loch, the view of Isle of Bute was just wonderful. Our breakfast and meal times was a lovely experience, a perfect selection of food in a relaxed setting with a log burner. Great selection of beers and alcohol drinks in the bar. Met with like-minded people and made good friends. Perfect place for long walks made even more enjoyable seeing otters, seals and many species of birds. A big thanks to our hosts Irene and Scott along with the very friendly staff who made our stay most enjoyable. Will see you again in 2025!

This place was recommended by a friend as a great place to stop for lunch before heading to Portvadie. However when I called to make a reservation after checking their website, which was showing a lunch menu, I was rudely informed they don't do lunch as no one is around, so they don't bother. Then I was hung up on. If this is the customer service before you arrive, hate to see it during your stay. Whilst I didn't expect to have an indepth conversation with the hotel, I thought they would of been more professional.

Stayed here at the end of day 1 on the Loch Lomond and Cowal Way long distance walk. ||My room was lovely - one of the front ones looking over the bay and the room itself was absolutely fine, well equipped and with a comfy bed. ||Goof food in the restaurant with a good few fishy options which were well cooked and presented. Breakfast was equally good with plenty of options featuring ultra fresh eggs from the hens that you could see running about outside the breakfast room!||Overall, no issues and would recommend and return.

Location - stunning, but make sure you get a room at the front of hotel. Room was spacious with plenty of storage unlike places like premier inn, Travel Lodge. Bed was very comfy. Only criticism was the shower room was a bit tired looking. Breakfast was excellent, all freshly cooked. Evening meals - menu a bit fish oriented but portions are very generous. Don't get a prawn cocktail - nearly £10 for prawns dumped on some greenery. Very poorly presented albeit tasty. Staff are all excellent and very friendly. Take a trip over on ferry to Bute, a great day out

Breakfast was great, food on the first night was also great ,second night it was bad over cooked dry and oversalted. I must remember not to eat on the chefs day off. Rooms were OK but to be woken up both morning by chickens on steroids not ok . The hotel was cold.

Just got back from our stay at Kate’s hotel, went for Xmas eve and Xmas day, had a lovely time and so did our dog, only complaint is I’ve probably put on a half stone with the Xmas dinner and great breakfast, place is spotless and our room was lovely and warm, very friendly owners Irene and Scott, we will definitely be back .

We had a brilliant stay at the Kames Hotel, the room was clean, comfortable and had the best view of any place we've ever stayed. The food was wonderful (thank you Scott), and Irene, the Landlady, was so hardworking, nothing was any trouble and she had such a great personality she made our stay extremely memorable.

We were staying elsewhere but booked a meal here one night. Had a fabulous prawn cocktail, beautiful scallops, great steak pie and a lovely baby squid special ... and immediately booked again for the following evening. Informal and relaxed, lovely service and beautiful fresh local produce on the menu. Huge portions! Great 👍

Yelp
We had lunch here. The menu is pretty standard - nothing too out of the ordinary. I had the veggie burger which was a bit on the mushy side but the chips were spot on. My friend had an open face prawn sandwich which decent. They have Scottish beers on tap and great outdoor seating overlooking the water.
