I visited last week, May 7th. The lodge is in an ideal location, just a 7 minute walk from the bus terminal and 2 minutes from the Kappa Bridge. The lodge is big and quite impressive. The staff were friendly, welcoming and they spoke English at an upper intermediate level. The staff kept my bags before the check in time, so I was able to go hiking and not have to carry my heavy luggage. They provided a full explanation of the layout, and the services and amenities available. They offer a public bath separated for both men and women, they provide yukatas to relax in as well as toothbrushes and toothpaste. I stayed in the annex for one night. The room had four bunk beds, each with a privacy screen, and a common area for relaxing and conversing. You are provided with a generous dinner and breakfast. Dinner was at 6pm and breakfast was served at 7am. Overall, a wonderful place to stay in a prime location. (The lodge is quite old school and there is an old wood smell in the rooms that’s quite interesting.)
