Another high quality ramen shop located in a quiet part of Toronto. Ordered the toripaitan (thick chicken soup) ramen; the toripaitan at Kaminari is the foamy type which gives the soup a markedly white hue; coupled with the finely chopped red onions, makes the bowl visually arresting. The taste of the soup is poignant and matches well with the chewy noodles The interior is quite homey and gives off a relaxing vibe. Too bad I cannot try more than one bowl of noodles at this place

The Tokyo Shio Ramen I ordered was a real treat to savour. Clear and light chicken broth that comes with pork and chicken plus clam, menma, seaweed, and green onion slivers. Other topping are available at an extra charge. The soup was full of chicken flavour and very tasty. Again, I wish I had access to some condiments to make this good bowl an even better bowl. The atmosphere did not convey a typical ramen shop. The decor, looks more like a typical bar that serves ramen on the side. With that being said, the food was still very enjoyable. Another location worth checking out again.

We enjoyed our ramen! We were treated to really rich and flavourful broths. Lots of care went into both the food and atmosphere, the city pop, the little personalizations, the great service made it feel warm and welcoming. For the price I would’ve liked a bit more protein in the bowl but that is a minor nitpick.

I had a great time at kaminari! The broth and noodles were so warm and soul-repairing. I cleared the entire bowl and treated myself to their really delicious dessert of the sweet potato with coconut ice cream. Service is amazing. The owner and the bartender, Victoria, were incredibly warm, efficient, knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. The onsen eggs were also really tasty. I would definitely come back! This was the perfect solo date spot.

Google
Underrated gem! I walked in on a Friday around 6:30 and was able to grab a table for 2 easily, our ramen came very quickly and was absolutely delicious! I had the paitan soy ramen and my friend had the umami duck soy ramen - both were incredibly flavourful! You can tell the ingredients are very high quality as well. The restaurant itself has really nice ambience, fairly casual but would also be a nice date restaurant! Very friendly staff as well. Didn't have any this time but I look forward to visiting again to try their cocktails!

Google
A place where Japanese goes for their comfort eats! Not your regular ramen place. This place has more and even gives you a compliment dish like our sashimi with amazing sauces! My husband was so impressed with how much care and love each dish was made! Even their dish ware and spoons are not plastic! If you love real Japanese food this is the place!

Google
Absolute treat lunch at Kaminari. We had the Karashi Cucumbers - unreal horseradish/mustard flavour in every bite. The Paitan ramen was creamy and an absolute novelty for us, couldn’t stop until it was finished. And the duck umami soup was delicious, very tender and perfectly medium rare on the duck breast. Drinks were great too!

I am Japanese who was born and raised in Japan. This is hands down my favorite ramen shop in Toronto!! 🍜 Even in Japan, I saw places that just ended up kind of copying what’s trendy. But what they do here, I think, is on another level! They preserve the quality and spirit of authentic Japanese cuisine, and then build something completely their own on top of it. Every bowl reflects that balance, which is respect for tradition and creativity that adds a new layer of umami. The flavors have the richness and finesse you’d expect from top ramen in Japan, but there’s also uniqueness that I don’t think I could even find easily in Japan. The owner, a humble Japanese chef who prefers to stay out of the spotlight, pours his heart into every detail from naming “Tokyo Shio” after ingredients that actually trace back to Tokyo to using soft water to create not only the soup but also in the noodle-making process to create that delicate texture. And please, don’t miss the sweet potato dessert. It’s unforgettable🍠 They’ve gone through hard times because of the area, but this is one place I truly don’t ever want to lose. It deserves to stay. It deserves to be known. So please go visit, tell your friends, and let’s help keep this kind of real, soulful craftsmanship alive🫶

Yelp
Kaminari serves the perfect bowl of ramen noodles, especially for those cold Toronto nights. I had the Paitan Soy which had a creamy broth which I added Black Garlic to. For fans of heavier broths, the paitan bowls are a must-try. The soup is so warm and comforting and the noodles are some of the best I've tried in the city. We had both the sweet potato creme brulee and premium matcha ice cream desserts which were perfect to end our meal - the matcha really does have a premium taste and the crème brûlée was so unique and yummy. The vibe is very cool, it feels like a lowkey spot that only the locals know about, and the service is great. 10/10 recommend

Yelp
Fresh from a tai chi class in the Parkdale neighborhood and bordering on "hangry," I stumbled into this unassuming ramen shop, and I'm very glad I did. From the outside, it's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it spot, but the inside has an authentic, buzzing vibe, complete with what I can only assume was a Japanese top-40 station playing. The layout is long and narrow, making clever use of the space. There are tables for two, larger group spots with benches, and a fully stocked bar complete with stools that seems ideal for solo diners or couples. Practical touches are everywhere: coat hangers at shoulder height, bag hooks under the bar, and a carafe of water that appears on your table moments after you do. The decor is an interesting mix of traditional (wood and paper light fixtures) and quirky (a random yellow bicycle mounted on the wall). I opted for the creamy chicken broth ramen, upgrading with an egg and pork wontons. Now, a heads-up for ramen purists: this isn't strictly traditional. The broth was surprisingly foamy - a first for me--but the flavor was fantastic and deeply savory with clear soy notes. The bowl came with bamboo shoots, red onions, slices of chicken breast (another new one for me in ramen), noodles of course and pork that had the texture of thinly sliced ham. It was an unexpected but delicious combination. So, why four stars and not five? The noise. For a small, intimate space, the sound level was... a lot. Between the music being a touch too loud and my neighbors narrating their entire lives at top volume, my post-tai chi zen was thoroughly rattled. I found it a bit unsettling and couldn't really hear myself think, let alone savor the ramen in peace. Bottom line: The food is inventive and genuinely delicious. If you're looking for a lively, bustling spot with a great bowl of ramen, this is it. If you're a person who prefers a more tranquil, contemplative slurping experience, perhaps bring noise-canceling headphones (which i eventually pulled out) or aim for an off-peak time. I'll be back for the food, but I might need to mentally prepare for the auditory adventure.

Yelp
Officially my new favourite ramen place. Super cute ramen bar, love the decor and the ambience. Service was very attentive and friendly. I ordered the paitan shio. What a pleasant surprise it was! It was so good- the broth was nice and light- not too heavy, but still super tasty. I found the foamy broth quite nice. The clams, chicken and noodles were cooked well. I like how they give you free garlic oil- but honestly, the ramen was great on its own too. My boyfriend ordered the duck umami soy, which was better than the one I ordered. It's nice, savoury and has good flavour. I recommend getting it with an onsen egg as it really complements the broth. The ramen was a bit on the pricer side- for both of us, it came out to $26.39 for me after tax and tip. However I find it's the best ramen I've had so far. Definitely recommend it!

Yelp
Amazing food and atmosphere. Hidden gem in Parkdale from the people behind Imanishi and rooms coffee! Make reservations if you want a table but the counter is definitely a great option to chit chat with the owner ;) fast and friendly service. 10/10

Yelp
Walked in on a Thursday night and every table was taken except one, lucky us! Quick and attentive service and some delicious food!! Very dimly lit and romantic vibes with great music playing! The beef carpaccio is a must! We both got the Tokyo soy and added chili oil, egg and garlic oil- it was flavorful and delicious and the noodles were perfectly cooked !

Yelp
Another day, another ramen joint. We'd actually tried to stop by Kaminari a few weeks earlier but the place was closed for the day. So we made our return on a recent Saturday for lunch and the place was pretty much empty. We asked our server which ramen is usually the most popular and he suggested the Clear Tokyo Soy ("Clear chicken broth, Pork, Chicken, Wonton, Green onion, Bamboo shoot, Nori seaweed"), and I also got the Spicy Oil to add in. It arrived pretty quickly and it's very good. I'm not sure I've ever had a ramen with a clear broth, so I was skeptical it would be as flavorful as what I was used to. I needn't have worried because this is one delicious, layered bowl of soup. The broth contains a lot of depth and it's complemented perfectly by the various components. The noodles were cooked perfectly, too. (The aforementioned Spicy Oil didn't add much, though. It was too mild to make much of an impact.) Service was friendly and efficient, and the whole experience was just top notch.

Yelp
Honestly, I was not a fan. I loved the ambiance - the fact that they were open late night and the decor. The fried cauliflower was good and crispy. However, we got the Tokyo Shio Ramen and the Paitan Shoyu ramen and found both pretty lacking in flavor and overly salty.

Yelp
Kaminari Ramen Bar located along Queen St. W. near Brock Ave in Parkdale is Toronto's newest ramen joint. Serving up Tokyo-style ramen this place prides it's self on using natural fresh ingredients to make it's ramen broth. They also offer a variety of appetizers great for sharing and a small drink list with creative Asian-inspired cocktails. If the space looks familiar, the ramen bar has taken over the space where Grand Electric used to be. The owners, from Imanishi Sando Bar and DD mau (in Vancouver), have created a welcoming space where you can stop by for a drink/snacks or have a large meal with friends. I stopped by Kaminari a few times to try their food. Service was super friendly every time and they aren't busy at all during lunch times. A bonus is that they also have happy hour from Fri to Sun from 11am-5pm (15% off all sake, wines, and beers!). Food wise, I tried the following items: - Edamame (deep fried soy marinade edamame) - Beef carpaccio (sirloin beef, fresh herbs, peanuts, shallots, DD Mau signature vinaigrette with a sesame rice cracker) - Saba sando (shio-koji mackerel, sansho aioli, karashi miso with shokupan bread) - Creamy shio ramen (creamy chicken broth, pork cha-shu, chicken cha-shu, clams, Tokyo negi, bamboo shoot, red onion). The marinate of the edamame was addictive that I couldn't stop eating it! Ordering the beef carpaccio is a must!!! Although the dish is not Japanese, the Vietnamese flavours of the ingredients shine through and work well so harmoniously together. Pairing the sirloin beef with the sesame rice cracker makes this dish a true standout within the menu. The saba sando was also interesting as mackerel is often a very fishy tasting fish. The spicy aioli worked well together with the fish where it was held together by slices of soft shokupan bread. Lastly, you cannot skip out on the ramen! The creamy shio ramen was so comforting on a cold day. The chicken broth was delicious that I wanted to finish all the ramen broth even though I was super full. Overall, great new place for ramen and snacks! Service was friendly and the vibes are chill. Definitely recommend checking out this new ramen bar in Parkdale!! Will return for more.

Yelp
There's a new ramen spot in Toronto. Now that the temperature is dropping it is the perfect time to satisfy your ramen craving. Location in one of my favourite neighbourhoods - Parkdale. And they have a heated patio. Kaminari Ramen Bar is Tokyo style ramen shop. Their ramen menu consist of Soy and Tokyo Shio in their creamy or clear. The broth is rich and flavourful. The Clear Tokyo Shio is a clear chicken broth with pork and chicken charshu, clam, and egg. The broth is light but rich in flavour. Love that this bowl comes with clams and they're fresh. This bowl is worth a try! The staff are super nice and friendly while being attentive.

Yelp
Last minutes my friend and I wanted ramen but majority of locations closes early so we found this hidden spot 10pm. We arrived and got a table right away, the atmosphere was very cozy. To our surprise, the prices of the ramen were pretty high compared to when they first opened about 3 months ago so prices went up as I see the old menu. I got the creamy shio ($21). It was frothy, creamy and not too salty. It consists of pork and chicken cha-su, I was surprised the pork cha-su was thin, pink and not charred. The chicken piece was small. The touch of red onions was nice and different but after a while I found it too overpowering. My friend got the clear Shoyu ($22). It has pork and chicken cha-su as well and mini dumplings which was cute and different too. Overall, both ramens tasted great but we weren't expecting to pay so much for ramen as we wanted to go somewhere quick late night meal.

Yelp
This place is artistic with it's ramen. So many unique and creative choices made here with the broths that I haven't experienced anywhere else. Because of that you many not like the style of the ramen you order but the craftsmanship and quality comes through. Once you find the broth you like you will be coming back for more. The menu is full of quality items and the ambiance is understated and cozy. Perfect for reconnecting with an old friend. A must visit place for serious students of ramen.

Yelp
Checking out the NEW Tokyo style ramen bar in Parkdale after a long day of work Kaminari Ramen Bar has a small menu but all items are packed with flavours! They also use quality ingredients and zero MSG :) Can't wait to come back again ^^ Sabo Sando ($14) - #mustorder for saba lovers. The grilled mackerel was nice and THICCC, and paired well with the sauce and shokupan, aka Japanese milk bread Creamy Soy ($20) - I really enjoyed this ramen with the creamy broth! The cha-shus were cooked to perfection, very juicy and tender Clear Tokyo Shio ($19.50) - My partner really liked this ramen with the clear chicken broth. It was also very light and delicious

Yelp
Loved the ramen! We ordered the Clear Tokyo Soy and the Creamy Shio. We also wanted to try the carpaccio, but unfortunately they were sold out. Seems like it's a pretty popular item! I had a taste of the Creamy Shio, which was both really light and rich at the same time. I thought it was really unique compared to any other ramen I've had in Toronto so far. The Clear Tokyo Soy was delicious, so soothing and comforting. The broth was light, but flavourful, and the clams were very fresh tasting. The Chasiu was so tender, and the wontons were fantastic too. The noodles were cooked perfectly. The bowl as a whole was very cohesive and surprisingly satiating. I finished the noodles and the broth without even thinking about getting my usual order of extra noodles. We opted to sit in the back patio for a more relaxing, quiet, meal so we could chat over beer and good food after a long day of work. They have really big long tables and benches to accommodate bigger groups, as well as smaller tables for 2-4 people. We loved the soft warm lighting and relaxed atmosphere. We visited Kaminari a couple of weeks back, during their soft opening, so it seemed like their staff had a few kinks to iron out, but everyone was super friendly and really polite! They have great ramen and we will definitely be back to try some of the items we didn't get to try on our first visit.

Yelp
I'll make a bit of an exception and award 5 stars off of something that I didn't order for myself - however I did taste it. I wasn't terribly hungry when I came, so I ordered the 'Sando' filled with fried beef croquettes. I also shared a few chicken wings. All of that was pleasant, but I did try my wife's creamy soy ramen, and it was among the best I've ever tasted. I can't have that experience and leave less than 5 stars.

Yelp
Decided to come check out this ramen and bar 2-in-1 after winning their grand opening giveaway on Instagram. The ambiance was warm and the jazz music in the background gave out a soothing vibe. There were about 5 or 6 tables for 2 people and 2 larger tables for a party of 4+. I loved how they were very considerate with a coat hangers along the back wall to hang your jackets and purse given the tight spacing. For this visit, we ordered the beef carpaccio as starter, the croquette sando, and creamy soy ramen to share. The beef slices in the carpaccio were tender and equally sliced thinly. It has a piece of homemade sesame rice cracker that came along with the order. Both paired well together. The suggestion of adding a little lime juice to the carpaccio was definitely a bright one as the acidity elevated the flavours. The croquette sando was minced wagyu beef with potato croquette, with tonkatsu sauce and Japanese milk bread as sandwich. It was a little on the salty side personally, but the overall texture of the croquette and beef was pleasant. The creamy soy ramen was definitely satisfying. The broth was creamy from the amount of chicken bones they used to make the soup. Not too salty, and really hit the note. We loved the broth so much that we decided to order the creamy shio as well LOL! However, the shio was a bit different than the creamy soy even though both were "creamy"- the salt was definitely much more elevated and just a tad bit less creamy compared to the soy. The only huge difference was the addition of clam in the shio ramen. Overall the service was amazing and super attentive. The only slight issue might be the parking... it's truly difficult to find a parking on the busy Queen St W.

Yelp
It's a decent size of ramen shop. There's a bar on the side where customers could order drinks and music was playing in the background, somewhat different from a regular ramen shop. I ordered a saba (mackerel) sando and creamy Shio ramen. The presentation of the creamy Shio ramen was very good which drew me wanted to try the broth right away. The broth was very creamy but not dairy, a typical Tokyo style. I could taste the ham and chicken in the broth. The ramen did come with a slice of thick chicken, a slice of ham, two clamps, bamboo shoots, scallions and onions. It tasted very unique, different from the regular ramen. Love the broth! The sando was not very big with some slices of ginger on the side to cleanse your taste. It was a new experience for me. I have never had a mackerel sandwich before. It was a good adventure!! The service was good. Always had someone came to my table and asked everything was ok.

Yelp
Tried out this place by a recommendation from a good friend of mine. It did not disappoint. The atmosphere is friendly but the music is really loud. We sat in the patio area. The service is a bit sparse compared to the main dining area. Keep in mind this review was during their soft opening. I can not vouch how things will be when they officially launch. We tried out the drummette, which turned out to be fried chicken drumsticks. We also tried the saba sando from the appetizers list. We also got 3 out of the 4 available Ramen to see how they were. The Ramen did not disappoint. The only odd part was when the server asked if they could start making the Ramen. We didn't expect that, as we thought it would be made which we were eating the appetizer. We also tried a drink that they recommended for the food. The drink was refreshing but it was a bit pricey given the quantity. Instead of serving it in wine glasses, a smaller glass would be appropriate for the drink. Overall, the food was great. The Ramen was really nice. The only critique would be the clams in one of my friends Ramen, was not fully cooked as it didn't fully open enough and took a bit of force to open it to reach the meat of the clam. Will return. When they do the grand opening.

Yelp
Amazing ramen. I always order the Tokyo Clam ramen. The broth is light and flavourful. All of their sides are also great. We had the tuna tartare, beef tataki and sandos. Highly recommend!

Yelp
best ramen in toronto i had over 15 ramen places and this is just amazing. its comparable to the ramen places i had in japan. truely delicious each ingredient is high quality and tasty. the broth is rich and makes me unable to stop drinking
