Amazing ice cream! Definitely the best on the island and has been a go-to since it opened in 1995. Dave’s Hawaiian Ice Cream inside the Karoo Snack-n-Go is truly impeccable! There are over 30 flavors which are all great and you can sample if you are between a few. The pink and blue cotton candy are great along with the caramel macadamia nut and the Kona coffee. There are also Hawaiian flavors which are unique and hard to get elsewhere. Overall truly amazing ice cream that you can’t miss! The price is good as well being $3.50 for a scoop or two scoops for $4.50.

Google
We went here strictly for Dave's Hawaiian Ice cream. It is on the consistency and quality of gelato. Absolutely fabulous. There are way too many choices to make. SO just take your time. The people working here are quite friendly and offer helpful advice when they can.

Google
Wonderful ice cream! There are many flavors and it's hard to choose. It's very clean, their music adds atmosphere, and the employees are friendly.

Google
This is the best ice cream place I’ve ever been to, and I’m a foodie ! There are many flavors and they all taste well. Not to mention , they have low sugar options for diabetics. I highly recommend it.

Lindsay

Google
Awesome selection of 30+ flavors of hard ice cream 🍦

Jason Kitchens

Google
Excellent ice cream shop with lots of original flavors. Their regular milk is pretty thin and milky but they do offer a thick option for an increased price. They use canned whipped cream which turns into sticky slop after a few minutes. Service was quick and easy.

Google
Came here for the ice cream, of course. Lots of flavors to choose from. Prices are kind of high for the amount you get. Tried the blueberry cheesecake and Hawaiian mud pie flavors, and both were excellent. Good service from the workers too.

Yelp
Visiting Molokai and was wondering what to do. My cousin recommended this place along with majority list of things to do here. This was my experience. AMBIANCE: Parking: Plaza parking. Space for about 15 cars. Seating: Moreover a grab-and-go spot but there are small benches around the plaza to sit around. Feels: It's downtown so you really can't miss it. There'll be people driving around and coming in and out. The place itself is very old school, nothing flashy and fresh but well-maintained place with plenty of snacks to your simple drinks to travel goods. It's not big so you won't need to spend a lot of time here. I was welcomed with some good Hawaiian music and greetings from the employees. Great place to grab and go or take a quick break. FOOD: Dave's Kulolo Ice Cream (Recommend) My cousin recommended the Kulolo ice cream - a combination of taro, coconut, and sugar. It was a subtle and pleasant taste, a different direction from the casual vanilla. The coconut was noticeable but I think the taro helped calm it. Ultimately it was a delicious bite. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Friendly servers that were quick and professional. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. 30+ flavors of local favorite Dave's Ice Cream, seasonal prices, and great selections of snack needs. This may not be the must be place for a lot of people but it is a local comforting favorite for many locals. Best wishes to Kamoi Snack-N-Go team from now and to the future. TIPS: * Great place if you need to stop by for snacks and drinks.

Yelp
Came here for the ice cream! The staff is super nice. They will let you try whatever flavours you want. It's worth trying some of the more unusual flavours. Also, there are 4 cases with ice cream, including one around the corner, so make sure you look at all the flavours! I think the prices are fair the waffle cones looked huge! I bought two pints, a pint is $7.50 each. Another bonus is that they are open until 6pm, which is far later than most of the other businesses in town with the exception of the liquor store and grocery stores.

Yelp
If you want ice cream (and really, who doesn't?), this is the place. I've now sampled 2 of the 40+ flavors, Kahlua Fudge and Caramel MacNut, and both were great. The staff is friendly and pleasant. If I lived on Molokai, I'd be a regular here!

Yelp
The best ice cream on Molokai. Always creamy and fresh, and the flavors are unique and local. I love this little shop and always make multiple trips while I'm on-island for the ice cream!!!

Yelp
Dave's Hawaiian Ice Cream. #1 Ice Cream in Hawaii Serving the island of Molokai since 1995. Only Ice Cream parlor on the island. My best friend and I visited Dave's shop tonight. Respectively, the best ice cream we've ever tasted. The flavors: pineapple coconut, Ube (purple yam), Honeydew Mochi Melon. Big kudos to Kamu & Leikili for helping us choose flavors tonight. The smooth, delectable, creamy, and irresistible taste coupled with tropical flavors gives you that euphoric vibe.

Yelp
Molokai definitely has some limited dining options when it comes to tourists but when in town, it's hard not to come here for a quick scoop of some of the tastiest ice cream around. The place serves mostly ice cream and icees but quite frankly, the ice cream is the best thing to get. They have all kinds of flavors but also have special Hawaiian flavors like taro pudding for adventurous people to try. I got the pineapple ice cream and didn't regret that choice. In fact, our entire group got something unique and it all tasted great. Service was friendly and quick. Locals flock here and it's not hard to see why. Thumbs up.

Yelp
Kamoi snack n go has great ice cream selection and a lot of unique flavors. Every flavor we tried was phenomenal! The people were all super nice and answered our questions about flavors and which were their favorites or most popular. 10/10 would recommend!!

Yelp
M- the search for ice cream continues. This shop is in a community we're luxurious living is not for the common folks. They offer 50 flavors but not outstanding very average and somewhat freezer burnt. Maybe a few less choices and an lot more care should be taken

Yelp
On our last trip to Molokai we stopped here twice. It's a small deli like store, it reminds me of the deli in middle school we walk to after school. They have bagged candies, chocolates, ice cream and icees as well.A great place to beat the heat! The first time I sampled the strawberry with Mochi. Which has little chunks of mochi inside but I ordered a scoop ube. They have daily specials so on our way to the airport we stopped in one last time. The special was large icee for price of medium icee float which I got with strawberry mochi. There were a few seats inside to enjoy the treats. The manager even talked story with us and let me know about the WiFi. This is my go to sweet shop in Molokai.

Deandra V.

Yelp
The only ice cream shop on the island and one of the few places with AC and free WiFi :) You can always count on Kamoi's to cool you down on any day. We usually go at least once a day when we're visiting - one day for ice cream and another day for icee. The employees are always very patient and kind. They have daily specials so check them out for that! Mahalo Kamoi's!

Yelp
Great ice cream and as many tastings as you wish. It's air conditioned and that's a treat in its self. Lots of wonderful flavor choices of ice cream and non diary yummies. There are a few seats to relax and eat in. I was fortunate owner Mr Dave chose to seat down next to me and chat. He is funny and practical. He was born in Japan. He owns the strip mall including the Drug store, and is a pharmacist as well as his children. I'm lactose intolerant but it was well worth the risk and savored my taro and chocolate macadamia scoops. We returned the next day for more deliciousness. I will miss Dave's ice cream.

Yelp
Old school snack shop feel. Friendly service, snack variety is awesome! Prices are decent.

Yelp
I love Molokai, it was my family and my first time. We went in for dessert after dinner (down the street from Maka's Korner). It was 2 for 1 night and we all got an extra ice cream scoop treat. Since we just landed 2 hours ago we didn't get time to get our bearings of the island. The staff member (decked out in Chicago Bulls gear) was super friendly to give us tips on where to eat for what we wanted (for lunch, for poke, for sweets, for filipino). He was hilarious and said it's easier for me to explain by pointing to where everything is, so we stepped outside with him and he gave us directions to all the local eats. We came here to chill, we had all the beaches to ourselves, and there were no lines when we went around town to eat.
google avatar

Kyle W.

Yelp
They have some of the best ice cream ever, especially the Ube!!!! Nobody does it like Moloka'i . I still have dreams about this stuff, and it's been over a year. If you're in town, grab some!

Yelp
Molokai sweet potato ice cream? YESSS! We swung in here around 8:00 on a Saturday night. There was plenty of parking and we could see from the parking lot that there were no lines. Score. We had just stuffed ourselves with burgers down the road and needed something sweet and this place was the jackpot! There were so many flavors of ice cream, and the employees offered us samples as well. I knew that since I was on Molokai, I had to skip the chocolate and caramel and go for something a little (lot) more local, right? Bring on the purple potatoes! The ladies I was with all had different flavors and they loved what they picked. The smoothness and flavor of this ice cream was really nice. I was super full from dinner so I opted for the smallest container. I was kinda sad about that because I could've eaten a whole lot more. It was perfectly sweet. Not rich and over-powering. Sometimes when I dream at night, all I can see is frosty cups of purple deliciousness. For real. If you're on Molokai, stop here and eat that ice cream. Oh how I wish I could ship it to Maui. But then again, it makes Molokai even more special. I shaka, you shaka, we all shaka for ice cream :) #Molokai

Yelp
Cute little icecream shop that also carries snacks, large assortment of Icees, etc. They offer samples so try some local flavors like Ube, Hawaiian Mudpie, and Coconut Macadamia Nut. All delicious. We stopped here twice on our trip to Molokai.

Stephanie G.

Yelp
The staff was so friendly and their ice cream so good! We all loved their Mac nut ice creams, especially the caramel Mac nut. Highly recommend it on your trip to Molokai. Their waffle cones are fantastic too!

Yelp
Kamoi Snack n Go is a sweets shop. If you have the sweet-teeth (teeth!) then wait no more, this is most definitely your stop! It is a simple shop in the strip filled with lots of treats to choose from. In addition, Namoi Snack n Go houses Dave's (homemade) Ice Cream which is ranked #1 in Hawaii! What I have noticed about Moloka'i is how friendly the people were (except for one specific place) and the employees in Kamoi Snack n Go truly extends their warmth to their customers. Also, unlike most stores & restaurants in the other Islands, their bathrooms are open to all visitors (with or without a purchase). Now let's talk about ice cream. They have numerous flavors to choose from, including rare flavors such as ube, taro, haupia, lychee, etc. Therefore, we had such a hard time deciding what we like. Kriestin (sp) and Gelly Ann were both so patient in helping us with the tastings. Personally, once I tried the Coconut Pineapple, it was over for me... I tried the other flavors but it just wasn't the same. My friend on the other hand fell in love with the frosted sugar cookie. We both end up getting one scoop in a traditional cone for $3.11 each. You cannot beat that price! In conclusion, love this simple mom & pop shop. Must visit! After all, hey.. this is #1 in Hawaii.

Yelp
During our 8 day visit to Molokai in May 2021, we visited this ice cream place multiple times. They have amazing flavors, some of which are uniquely whipped up and hard to find elsewhere. The staff is kind and gave us a punch card for our visits. The servings are generous and prices pretty good for Molokai. If you don't visit, you are missing out on a great experience

Kim L.

Yelp
Terrible! worst service and rude employees! Get Shave Ice instead! Get ice cream from the Fo' Real machine, its WAY better and you don't have to deal with terrible owner.
google avatar

Rylan C.

Yelp
Had to stop by here for dessert after paddlers. They serve Dave's ice cream and was really good as per usual. Got the cotton candy and caramel mac nut. Weird mixture but both flavors are my favorite. Got one scoop but was like two scoops. Really great place to go after dinner or night out.
google avatar

Lyzz P.

Yelp
Yumtown. Open late... enough. Perfect for a sweet tooth Had da kulolo ice cream.... amazeballs!

Bethany C.

Yelp
The ice cream variety here is awesome. Dave's Ice Cream. If you're looking for a quick snack and sweet treat, go here.
google avatar

Marie H.

Yelp
There are about a zillion flavours of Dave's Hawaiian Ice Cream to choose from, and you can sample as many as you like before making your choice. Mondays are two scoops for the price of a single scoop. I had a scoop of the limited-time pumpkin (a local told me "get it, it's so good, we wait every year for it to come back!), and a scoop of the Ube. Neither are overly sweet, which I liked. The Ube is the most beautiful purple colour. The ice cream is so smooth, second only to the Nutella Gelato I had the pleasure of eating in Venice many years ago. We will definitely go back again before we leave, there are more flavours we need to try!

Yelp
My husband and I went island hopping from Oahu to Molokai for the weekend and we remembered to come back to Kamoi's to get a cool sweet treat while we beat the summer heat. I discovered my most favorite Dave's Ice Cream flavor there: Kulolo! I'm such a crackhead for this flavor, I went back the next day, and then one more time before returning to the airport on Sunday. So good! Wishing I could have some right now. I'm not sure if Dave's on Oahu has Kulolo, but if they do I'm going to have to check-in to rehab for Kulolo addiction. Anyway, back to Kamoi's. It's such a chill place (no pun intended) to get not just ice cream but any snack or drink, even toiletries if you forgot to pack any and Moloka'i souvenirs. There's chairs near the entrance to have a seat to enjoy your treats and you can connect to their free wifi. Kamoi's is definitely on my itinerary whenever I visit the Friendly Isle.

Tracy W.

Yelp
Clean cold and the only ice cream shop on the island. We love the pints and must have some icee float too
google avatar

Carley P.

Yelp
Delicious sorbet and fresh waffle cones for a surprisingly decent price, even for the mainland! So many flavors and I especially appreciated the few fruity, dairy free options. Guava was the dinner, the others were just a tad too sweet. The ice cream flavors all seem to creative and delicious! Friendly employees who don't mind giving samples.

Yelp
Lemon custard is my boyfriend's favorite Dave's Ice Cream flavor. Imagine his distress when we couldn't find it through the glass counter. I didn't know it then, but he later admitted to strategically planning a visit to Kamoi's Snack-n-Go so he could savor his childhood favorite ice cream. I did my best to comfort him by guiding his eyes to another favorite, cookies n' cream. It didn't work out too well because by then, he was of the mind that if he couldn't have lemon custard, he wouldn't have any at all. (He is so serious about this stuff.) I settled on toasted macadamia nut which was sooo delicious. Think vanilla but better, way better. Chopped macadamias in every bite (or lick). At the checkout, I casually asked if they even carried lemon custard, to which the cashier said they did, but their batch was firming up in the freezer in the back. My boyfriend nearly fell over when he heard this and with puppy-dog eyes, asked if she wouldn't mind making him a cone. And all was right with the world.

Monica F.

Yelp
The best place hands down for ice cream, we especially go for the Hawaiian style Rocky Road - chocolate, macadamia nuts, and coconut --- also the French Vanilla and tropical flavors like Mango and Ube (a kind of purple sweet yam). Love, love, love the atmosphere - small town ice creamery -- lots of kids and families, open on Saturdays and fun to visit. A must-see on Molokai
google avatar

Christine W.

Yelp
Ube, sweet potato (as the store staff told me), using the local grown purple yam to make this super bright colored purple yam (aka Taro), is simply DELICIOUS! I chose Green Tea and Ube 2 days in a row and I will go back there everyday if I were to stay here any longer. Friendly staffs, many many flavors to choose from. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Phil M.

Yelp
A Molokai staple and great place to stop on a hot day. With plenty of native Hawaiian flavors you won't be disappointed. Try the banana berry mochi or Hawaiian mud pie.
google avatar

R H.

Yelp
As others said it's the only place on the island to get a cold treat on a hot Hawaiian day. Shave ice, icee float and ice cream are all winners!
google avatar

Yelp
The small town of Kaunakakai on Molokai is where the major hub of economical activity on the island. The town of Kaunakakai is likened to being in Lahaina town, due to the sheer size - or lack thereof - and is a tight proximity to everything else. Much like everything here on Molokai is here in Kaunakakai, it was here that we made a pitstop to reload on supplies for the trip east. The town itself is pretty nice and it was very easy to get around. It was really a small town on the south shore of the island. Among the shops here was the Kamoi Snack N Go, a small ice cream shop. It felt like one of those small-town ice cream places, friendly attitude and service with a smile. I like that fact that homespun flavor and atmosphere that you can't really beat anywhere else. This place is like a small 7-Eleven also. The service was great and I would look forward to coming back again. We all got some ice cream here and it was magnificent. Very delicious and pretty much homemade, I think.I had to macadamia nut ice cream and it tasted like but we got from the macadamia nut farm, where we visited earlier. Well, the prices were kind of high and expensive, but you are on Molokai so you probably need to expect that aspect of it. They do take credit cards and cash is always welcome. They have plenty of ice cream favors to choose from so, pick one and enjoy. If you are ever in the area, please stop by. It's probably the best place on I need to congregate and enjoy. Overall I recommend this place to satisfy your sweet tooth and then some. By all accounts, its basically a convenient store by 7-Eleven but with the Molokai touch. Support local! A+
google avatar

Helga W.

Yelp
They were out of several flavors including ube but I've had it before so it's no biggie to me. I wanted to get a flavor I can't get on Maui so I got Coconut Mac nut. It was creamy, there's some coconut flakes mixed in and just delicious. Besides ice cream they had all sorts of other snacks, cold drinks and goodies up for sale. Lots of families and school kids stopped by so it got pretty packed, plus all of us that got dropped off as part of a tour. Staff was real quick, friendly and helpful. All of them were always asking if I needed any sample or help.

Chris W.

Yelp
The ice cream here is fantastic! Great service and great daily specials. I will definitely be returning here
google avatar

Tzook R.

Yelp
Every flavor here is smooth. Low on sugar, i.e. ice cream made proper. Kind staff and s good central location to walk everywhere (well, this is the case with the whole island).
google avatar

Heather S.

Yelp
Ok the ice cream is decent, but sometimes it is a little freezer burnt. I would recommend just buying the pints you get more for your money and it tends to be a lot creamier. My only complaint is WAY over priced!! You pay almost $5 for an ice cream that you practically finish eating before you have even left the store. They have a lot of Hawaiian flavors haupia, coconut, ube sweet potato (very good) etc. I really like the sugar cookie and the coconut. They make fresh waffle cones for their ice cream which is pretty delicious. They also sell icees, pop, candy and snacks. Pretty much the only junk food store on the island. Oh and they also serve Dave's Hawaiian Ice cream. Oh and I'm pretty sure they have a minimum for credit card transactions just a heads up.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
Such nice people and the ice cream was so good. We sat outside on the bench was evening... They turned on the music while we were enjoying our treat.. excellent!!

Yelp
My wife and I always seem to 'remember' this place when we have ice cream here on the mainland. During our '07 honeymoon, we somehow managed to stop here almost every time we drove through Kaunakaka. I think one time we stopped here 3 different times to get ice cream in one day. I'm not sure it's the best ice cream in the world....but it sure tasted awesome that trip. I especially love the coconut and pineapple flavors, while my wife loved Rocky Road and Chocolate Fudge Chunk. If you are on Molokai, you have to try this place. Frankly, if you are there for more than a week....you may have a hard time NOT stopping there. Great little joint!!!

Greer G.

Yelp
Kamoi sells Dave's Hawaiian Ice Cream - voted #1 ice cream in Hawaii. Very, very good ice cream. My husband came back a second day for more! I got the banana yogurt and mango sorbet - very delicious combination. Next time, I will try the Molokai Sweet Potato ice cream (it's purple). My husband said it's not as good as Lappert's Ice Cream, but it is a very close second.
google avatar

Jaclyn B.

Yelp
We love, love, loved this place!!! On our anniversary, an older couple offered us their free coupons for ice cream! We were not disappointed! I had local favorites and absolutely adored them! Eat up!
google avatar

Darin O.

Yelp
Please know that - this is Molokai- prices are high - but here it is more than worth it! Snacks- candies, Ice Cream and stuff you would want to buy at Baskin Robbins if it had more taste is here. Really great unique flavors that I believe are homemade- not just store bought. Local style. Also be aware of the folks that walk out the dialysis Center for diabetes poisoning and walk into Dave's Ice Cream and order what I would share with 2 other people. Disparity- folks please use moderation and pass yourself.
google avatar

Jonathan W.

Yelp
Cute, clean place with some friendly kids behind the counter. Ube ice cream was my flavor of choice (again). Love this little spot on this island.

Yelp
Came here yesterday on our way to the hotel because it was hot. We initially just saw "Dave's Hawaiian Ice Cream" so we went into the store to get some! When we walked in, it was a whole snack shop! That's cool! Molokai is probably the most expensive island. The candy bars are $2 and the lollipops are $1. The ice cream price is kind of high considering its "Daves". When we went to order our ice cream, the tomboy girl was just staring at us. I asked her what kind of coffee ice cream they had and she replied "Hawaiian mud pie" and "Kahlua something" Okay.... So I asked her "Can I please sample the Hawaiian mud pie" and she said "the Hawaiian Mud pie has cookies, the other one doesnt" So I look at her and just wait about a good 3 seconds to see if she would reach for a spoon to give me a sample.... NOPE! Braddah girl just keeps on staring. First of all, I asked you for a SAMPLE, and second of all I know there's cookies in it, I wanna TRY it. what kine cookies? Oreo? Chocolate chip? Fricken mint? So I go ahead and order a double scoop Hawaiian mud pie and caramel macadamia nut. It was awesome! I go ahead and ask her to make a sundae for my grama and she slowly takes her time. Ans not the kine take her time to make it good, but moving fricken slooooowwww as if ice cream cannot melt. She sees me with a fussy baby because it's so hot and she still is taking....her.......sweet.....time! I don't mean to put you on blast, girl, but be a little nicer!

Yelp
Monday special 2 scoops for price of one scoop!!!!...lol this mad up for not having a Military discount.. hahah.. workers were all helpful and seemed to love the work environment. A must visit when in town to cool of from the heat.

David E.

Yelp
Someone from Moloka'i told me that I needed to make sure to go to Kamoi's Snack n Go while on my weekend trip to Moloka'i. It ended up being a great recommendation. After our Mule Ride down to Kalaupapa, we were hot! We decided that this was the perfect time for some ice cream. Kamoi's is very easy to find; it is in "Downtown Moloka'i" right next door to a Napa Auto Parts. The service was great! The girl that helped us was really friendly. It seemed like they would let you sample as many things that you wanted though we limited ourselves to 2. She was even reassuring that my ice cream combination was not that unusual and that other people have ordered that too (Li hing mui pineapple and ube (purple sweet potato). They were both DELICIOUS. The ube ice cream was so tasty and unique (never heard of that before) and the Pineapple one was really refreshing. My wife doesn't like li hing mui but tried some of mine. She said that it was really good! We liked the ice cream at Kamoi's so much that we even went there the next day right before our flight back home and I got the exact same combination.

Yelp
Clean, well-lit, friendly. The Green Tea ice cream is my favorite. Purple Sweet Potato ice cream is bright purple and delicious in a milkshake. Ice cream is available by the pint, as well. A nice selection of candy snacks. There is an elementary school close-by, so watch for that afternoon rush of kids in uniforms. Daily specials, Wi-Fi hotspot, evening hours, for the after-dinner sweet craving. Owners are active in the community and extremely supportive of local schools.
google avatar

Cindy C.

Yelp
Just stopped by and the second you walk in you know you're in the right place. The shop smells like the inside of a cotton candy machine! I opted for the purple sweet potato ice cream and I had to go back for the second scoop! delicious!

Yelp
Ice Cream are really good. All the girls work there are super nice, Kierstyn helped us a lot. My friends and I tired the Hawaii Taro Pudding, Coconut Mac-nut, Coconut Pineapple, and the Cookie Dough. All are yummy. If I have to choose one, go for Coco-Mac. Wanna some ice cream in Molokai, this is your place!
