I really wanted to give Kamon Hotel Namba a five-star review, especially given its great location and reasonable pricing. It’s conveniently situated for exploring Osaka, and the hotel offers some thoughtful extras like complimentary bicycles and a large selection of board games, which were nice touches.
However, several aspects of the stay were underwhelming. The rooms were quite small and not very soundproof — we could hear noise from the hallway and neighboring rooms. The wait times for the lift were unusually long, which became frustrating, especially during peak hours.
One of the more confusing parts of the stay was the in-house restaurant. It was impossible to make a reservation for breakfast or dinner on short notice, yet it never seemed to be full, which felt poorly managed. Additionally, there was no room cleaning during our stay, and we had to take out our own trash bags, which wasn’t what we expected from a hotel experience.
The staff were generally friendly but not always helpful when we had questions or needed assistance. There were also noticeable scuff marks in the hallways and on the floors, giving the hotel a slightly worn feel.
Overall, while the price is reasonable and there were some positives, the stay didn’t quite meet expectations. Not sure if I’d return.
