Reserve the table before you show up, it’s often fully booked. This place is awesome. The fresh hummus, eggplants babaganough were amazing. Everything had a unique taste, amazing flavours, very friendly service. They explained as usual in most of the menu/ speciality restaurants. It’s worth to visit and enjoy some yummy Israeli - Palestine cuisine.

We were at Kanaan for brunch, and the food was delicious! Brunch consists of a buffet of starters plus a main course, all for 25€, which is a great price. If you are into hummus, various aubergine mousse, vegetables, the buffet is for you! As mains, we had the Kanaan Shakshuka which was amazing, and the Masabacha & Flalafel, which came with hummus ... as we already had that as part of the starters, I think taking the Green Shakshuka would have been the better choice 😅 So, 5* to the chefs in the kitchen! We didn't experience any of the problems that some of the recent reviews mentioned (smell, unfriendly staff, being rushed etc.). But yes, the service was a bit amateurish, e.g. the main dish came without a spoon to serve it, some dishes on the buffet didn't have a spoon, nothing major and it didn't annoy us, but I can see that some pickier people might get rubbed up the wrong way. In terms of atmosphere, it's a bit barren, a little more decoration would lift the place up, and help it stand out i its unique character. All in all, really I really recommend Kanaan for their food!

I had a great experience experience here. They have a lot of tasty vegetarian and vegan options. I had the stuffed peppers, pita bread, hummus, and the Smidori Cocktail 🍹 💚

This was so delicious! They have a fixed menu, where you get a lot of cold starters in small plates with bread, where you can get refill on what you like. That is followed by two bigger main dishes, and then a dessert. All for 33€ per person. We decided to get some of their cocktails as well, which was known cocktails with a twist - really good! All the dishes were vegetarian and packed so much taste. The staff where really nice and observant. Definitely a great experience and cannot recommend it enough!

Very delicious. The concept is one price for the chef menu with unlimited refill as soon as you can finish your food. For the price paid very well done. Drinks are nice as well. I recommend to come here in group. But for two people it’s also nice.

I loved the food here! It's a wonderful blend of Israeli and Palestinian dishes, all vegetarian (but vegan is possible). The food is served as a fixed menu which came as a relaxing difference to other places I visited. And don't worry about not having enough - we were asked multiple times if we needed more of anything. Additionally, I want to point out their cocktails. They lean on the sweeter side, but can be boozy. I want to point out their Arak mixes as my favorites. It's a smaller place, but bigger groups can be supported. I strongly suggest to reserve in advance. However, same day reservations are possible if your group is small enough (and especially for two). I can't say if this place is good enough for one person, tho. Online they say that coming along could be a problem, but the menus in the restaurant mentioned that you can order for a single person (it just costs more).

I come here every time I am in Berlin. The food is just outstanding! A wide range of vegetarian and vegan dishes with exceptional flavours. My favourite is the brunch on the weekend and the wide selection of starters. The staff is super friendly and the vibe in general is very relaxed. I also had the set evening menu before which is also outstanding. I will definitely come back again.

We had an amazing Brunch experience at Kanaan. Although we already reached the end of the "brunch time" the super friendly waiter generously offered us to still order the brunch menu - which was just the right choice for us foodies. Loads of delicious dishes were served, although we all were hungry we were unable to finish everything. The biggest recommendation!

This is one of the best meals I have ever had! I'd recommend it to anyone in Berlin. Days later, I'm still thinking about how delicious the meal was! The restaurant is in a very cute neighborhood and is beautifully decorated. The servers are really kind and welcoming. In terms of service, we got our food pretty quickly. We got the lunch specials and the portions were massive - perfect for a big group of people or families. The hummus is phenomenal, so definitely order that! I got the Hummus Gaza and the knodel; both dishes were DELICIOUS and packed with flavor. The pita was incredibly fluffy and came to us warm. I can go on and on about how yummy this meal was - it's a MUST visit.

After reading the excellent Yelp reviews, I went there for dinner. The restaurant insists that you order the price fixe dinner menu, which is impossible for two people to eat. What can't customers order a la carte? It felt terrible to waste the food, but we simply could not finish it. A big part of choosing this restaurant were the dishes featured on Yelp. These dishes were not the ones we were served, which were bland, oddly spiced, and inauthentic. I frequently eat at Israeli and Palestinian cafes in NY, and this is not the cuisine I'm fortunate to enjoy at those places. Also, soy based shawarma is just, well, horrible. The wait staff was friendly, but the service was slow.

We found the food to be tasty and interesting. Service was super friendly albeit somewhat confused and chaotic at times. Many servers bringing food or drink, and not sure who was ours. We liked having several small plates to taste from: the first round was 6 starters. It added to the fun of the evening to taste and try this and that. The stuffed onion plate was really interesting and new for me, as were the skewered roasted beets with pistachios and feta. We liked everything we tried. It wasn't until the end that we realized it was all vegetarian! Very tasty. Plus we went because any attempt to bring together Palestinian and Israelis - even modestly through food- is a tiny tiny step in the right direction. Peace!

Kanaan is packed with people and you have to reserve in order to get seated. Concept and price: It's 20€ per person, where you can a variety of appetizer which includes falafel, baba ganoush, different kinds of self made bread, cauliflower, hummus and some other stuff. Within the 20€ you can choose one of three meals, where we went for the Palästina grilled vegetables and Mallawach Sabich. Taste: What we liked was their cauliflower and baba ganoush! The Mallawach Sabich was definitely the better main course with tasty grilled eggplant and great crusted flatbread. The falafels were ok, we personally like those from alin or avocado club more, but overall the food was good! Not crazy outstanding but good. The atmosphere was good and for 20€ per person you get to try a lot of different things. Skip the dessert, it's not worth the price and taste in our opinion.

The food here is SO TASTY! Great for vegetarians, but also simply delicious for anyone! Hands down best falafel I've ever had, not dry at all. Labaneh and hummus were also amazing!

Two things to consider before eating at this restaurant. They pride themselves on serving Palestinian and Israeli cuisine and yet neither are showcased in the dishes served at this restaurant. Political and social implications aside, the food is barely authentic to either nationality. The hummus was bland and had watery lentils in it (why not chickpeas?). Instead of serving pita, they serve focaccia bread with zataar/seasame seeds on it. When the real pita did show up it was so thick, I thought it was a baked kaiser roll with no poppy seeds on it. They have a salad with unseasoned iceberg lettuce and some type of "aoili" on it. The meat is all soy based so it tastes like a slightly off version of shwarma. They also give you every dish from of the menu without letting you have the choice to order a specific dish that you would like. I understand you want to showcase your menu to your customers, but I didn't sign up to eat your entire menu. At one point they served what they considered to be "shakshuka" and it had no eggs on it. Just a simple tomato sauce surrounded by hummus and the previously mentioned thick pita bread. The service was pretty good. The staff was definitely very kind and welcoming but I could tell the restaurant was understaffed and needed more people to manage the high amount of occupied tables in the restaurant. Besides "israeli food" being a cuisine that is less than 75 years old, there is little in the way of showcasing Palestinian cuisine. Mostly just saying that a dish have "Palestinian spices" on them and masking everything with pomegranate seeds. I would say if you want to have an authentic and tasty israeli/palestnian restaurant experience in Berlin, then find a PALESTINIAN restaurant to have a meal at. Overall, I really appreciated the staff. They seemed really sweet, but the food has no soul in it. I have no idea what y'all are going for.
