Just had a magical (snow filled) 3 days in Kanazawa at this incredible hotel. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, very helpful to any queries and in the middle of the snow storm - they made sure we were comfortable and safe. The breakfast is ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Everything was so fresh and the service was a lot better than many other places I’ve stayed in Japan, and that’s hard to top because Japanese service is top notch. Be sure to check out the travel bus tours the hotel offers too. Cannot beat local knowledge and tours. Highly recommended! You will not be disappointed.

This was an absolutely fantastic hotel to stay in Kanazawa. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by staff waiting outside for us in the pouring rain (!)… this really set the tone for our whole stay. The service provided was fantastic, the room was large and comfortable, we adored the spa with its onsen and massage chairs (did I mention the free popsicles?), and the breakfast was simply fantastic- there was an omelette bar, ice cream, fresh fish, pastries and so much more. And all this for a very reasonable price! The one thing I would say is that it is a bit out of the way of all the sightseeing locations, however since the hotel have a free shuttle bus to the main station (which I would advise to use) it isn’t a big inconvenience .

I loved this hotel! The rooms are lovely - (we had a separate living and sleeping area which is rare for Japan hotels!) , the staff were great, and the breakfast was impeccable! ||There is a convenient shuttle service to the station. Otherwise it’s a 20-30min walk, which we did do but would recommend the shuttle if you can.||There are also onsens available at the hotel, and the television in your room conveniently tells you how full the onsens are.||The WiFi worked well. There was a communal lounge area with tea and coffee. There was also a laundry room where you could do laundry for free. ||I would have liked to stay here longer, it was really nice!

This is (so far) the most spotless clean hotel in Nagoya (maybe in entire Japan as well) I have stayed. In the past decade, I've been travelling around Japan for over 100 times, Sanoniwa is the most spotless clean hotel, not only in the room I stayed, but the spa and other public areas. The staff is very attentive and speak very fluent English. The overall design of the hotel is first-class indeed.

This hotel is a gem, modern but infused with Japanese ambience of beauty and serenity. The rooms are very large for Japanese standards, luxuriously appointed with toiletries and comforts, and very quiet. The grounds are small, but everywhere you turn there is a lovely garden, courtyard, or reading nook. There is a great public bath from thermal springs. The staff are delightful. And on this my third trip to Japan i have to say this was the best breakfast EVER. The shuttle is extremely convenient and rubs frequently. One warning: no shuttle during lunch hours.||I will definitely return.

Lovely property with a great team that took good care of all the guests. Well appointed rooms, cleanliness top notched, onsen facilities were great and abundant breakfast with local produce.

The free shuttle bus service makes this hotel the a great choice even if it’s far away from the station. Quiet, chic rooms with beautiful gardens.

Indeed, from arriving at the Sainoniwa hotel entrance by free shuttle bus (from Kanazawa train station), thru check-in, breakfast, and check-out, all staff were gracious and helpful, eager to assist with any questions.||The first thing that struck me when entering the hotel was the immaculate landscaping. The Japanese maples, the babbling brook, and the picturesque stone lantern in the garden by the lobby brought me a great sense of relaxation. (Even the gym has its own beautiful views of manicured trees and shrubs)||Check out the roof for sweeping views of Kanazawa and the surrounding mountain range.||My room was quite pleasant, a nice mix of Japanese-style (replete with futon and zabuton), and Western (beds). The shower might have been of the top three showers I have ever experienced, both in terms of pressure and temperature, and equally inviting was the near-complete lack of noise emanating from the corridor/other rooms/outside the hotel. And for those of you who want a nice view of the Kanazawa area, check out the rooftop!||As for the breakfast, it was buffet-style. There were plenty of delicious staples, such as raw vegetables, soup, grilled fish, omelets, and baked goods. It was a real seasonal treat, augmented by the fact that you can take your breakfast by the hotel entryway garden.||Very good breakfast buffet with dishes changing on a daily basis. Of particular note are the various jams for pastries, local Ishikawa prefecture bites, omelets, and ice cream. Sit on the garden terrace for an even more relaxing bite.||To sum it all up, top notch accommodations in one of Japan's most captivating cities.

Yelp
Our family of 5 visited Kanazawa for a few days and booked at the Saino Niwa Hotel based upon the strong online reviews. We were not disappoitned! We really enjoyed the friendly, professional service, the good size rooms, and the spectacular breakfast buffet. They also have a very helpful shuttle running constantly to and from the train station. The room was divided into two parts, the Japanese style living area with low seating and the bedroom and they provided "night pajamas and slippers" for all guests in the room, which were encouraged to be worn on the property premises. We enjoyed the experience! We had two rooms that were connecting, which made it very easy for a family! Not something we found alot of in Japan...and it was appreciated! The front desk was very efficient and helpful and they had our bags ready in our rooms when we arrived, having been sent there ahead of us. Only complaint is it is a bit far from the train station...and we walked there upon arrival which took about 15 minutes. However, the walk was easy and the property makes it worth it.
