The place was disappointing and far from what was advertised. To start, we had little hot water throughout our stay considering the high prices they charge. The entire property looks run-down—much worse than the photos suggest. The layout is also a confusing maze, making it difficult to navigate. I think it’s severely overpriced, especially considering nothing is included, and they surprise you with additional costs like yoga sessions. Even the massages are priced similarly to what you’d pay in Australia, which feels unreasonable. The food was another letdown. It was served cold, lacked variety, and my wife suspects she got food poisoning from it. While they boast about the design being the work of a failed architect, it’s not particularly significant or impressive. There are a few nice older pieces and antiques around, but nothing special.

This is an amazing place! It's set on a hillside in the forest, and the surroundings are really peaceful. I only stayed one night, and had an excellent Ayurvedic massage ($55 for 1.5 hours) and did a yoga session ($15). I wished I'd stayed longer! My room was in one of the many outbuildings, each with their own character. It was huge and in fact more like an apartment with its own seating area and little kitchen. The bed was pretty comfy, and my only complaint was that there was no hot water. I went for half board. Both dinner and breakfast were buffets, which were excellent and plentiful. The staff were extremely professional and helpful, and I really enjoyed my stay there. I took a tuktuk there from Kandy, which cost 2000 Rs. It's also possible to take a bus from Kandy to Orutotha, and from there it's about a 15min tuktuk ride up to the hotel (I did this on the way back). Overall, highly recommended as a relaxing retreat!

Booked in for a yoga getaway. This place is just idillic, very secluded, and quiet. If you want to get away and just relax in a peaceful environment, then I highly recommend. The morning yoga was wonderful too, and just helped me switch off and get grounded again. Also the food is just amazing! I can’t praise the staff enough, they are all just beautiful, lovely people.

We stayed here at Samadhi Center for one night during our Srilankan trip. We booked with Booking.com by checking the videos and photos. But we didn’t noted the distance from Kandy town to here. It is around 21km from Kandy town. Almost 1hr travel. The hotel team tried to reach us over phone to inform us about the distance. But they couldn’t reach us. During our travel to hotel, we thought our decision was wrong. But once we reached the hotel we found that it was our best decision to choose this hotel for our stay. We can see lot of antiques in the hotel and premises. We got a candle light dinner, which was very nice and lovely. A river was flowing near the hotel. The room was big enough for two. It was not a simple room. It was complete house in a traditional way. Then next day we got a traditional local breakfast with soup, Kiribath (Rice cake) and Tuna fish curry, sambal etc. Totally it was amazing and nice experience. Along with stay, they provide Ayurvedic treatments like spa, facial etc. If you are a nature lover you should come here. Highly recommended for nature lovers. To Samadhi center team: we shall come again.

A natural haven! This hidden gem really makes you feel at peace in the middle of nature. The 2h Ayurvedic treatment was very pleasant followed with very tasty organic food (picture to testify).

I recently had an unforgettable experience at this remarkable place. The impressive architecture seamlessly blends with nature, creating a serene and picturesque environment. The food was absolutely amazing and delightful, offering a wide variety of options for every meal. The staff were generous and attentive, making the stay even more enjoyable. I particularly loved the river, garden, and waterfalls, which added to the overall charm and tranquility of the location. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a great nature experience combined with outstanding hospitality.

My stay at Kandy samadhi centre was nothing short of a sensory delight. A beautiful space to relax in, gorgeous organic food and very comfortable rooms. The design of this place is incredible! Colours, antiques and architecture! Samadhi has a very ancient feel to it even though it’s only existed for 25yrs. I had a full body Ayurvedic treatment during my stay. What an experience- the setting alone for the treatments is an experience in itself but the quality of the massage was outstanding. The staff are beyond helpful and incredibly kind- full of smiles! My room overlooked the knuckles mountain range, felt super safe here at night. I’d recommend this place to anyone looking to get off the beaten path and experience a really unique stay in a completely natural setting.
