Kaneo Restaurant & Letna Bavča

A standout dining experience in Ohrid. The restaurant boasts a stunning lakeside location, warm and attentive service, and exceptional food. We enjoyed a variety of appetizers, soups, ravioli, creamy dishes, and fresh lake fish — all beautifully prepared. The wine list complements the menu well. Prices are honest and fair — especially compared to the overpriced options along the modern seaside strip. Highly recommended — don’t miss it.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff were accommodating and the food was delicious. We ordered the tomahawk steak, sea bream, and gnocchi with truffle. Unfortunately, we didn’t get a reservation, so we were seated in a different area. If you plan to dine here, I suggest making a reservation so you get seated beside the bay.

We went here two days in a row because it was so delicious. Especially the vegetarian eggplant dish is a culinary epiphany (it's soft on the inside and crispy on the outside and the tomato sauce on top was also extremely tasty). We also tried the cashew cheese (vegan) but it didn't taste like much, wouldn't recommend. The truffle gnocchi were self-made and very delicious, the trout in prison was good but not as good as the comments made it out to be (still solid 4-4,5/5) and the fish soup is also very savoury. If you're really hungry you should probably order starters or an additional dish because the sizes are about medium. Overall we can definitely recommend this restaurant, the food was amazing, the waiter was also very welcoming and the atmosphere was calm and classic.

Ate here twice (once for dinner and once for lunch) and both times were really good. Lovely views right next to the lake and plenty of options on the menu. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a nice evening meal in Ohrid.

Lunch at Kaneo Restaurant & Letna Bavcha was absolutely wonderful. The dishes were superb and the atmosphere during the day was calm and relaxing. The unique location above Lake Ohrid, surrounded by natural beauty, makes it a perfect place to enjoy a peaceful lunch with amazing views.

This restaurant has a more upmarket feel to it compared to the others on the waterfront in this area. I booked a week beforehand and was given a table over the water. The setting and ambience were lovely. Great choice of food and wine, I had turbot, and it was outstanding. My wife had the tomahawk pork steak but it was a little dry. We also had 2 homemade desserts, a cherry cheesecake, and a chocolate tart, both delicious apart from the yellow sauce, which was on top of the chocolate tart, which I removed and ate separately. The waiter recommended wine by the glass and let us taste it beforehand and had alternative options when I didn't like the first one. Service was excellent and we enjoyed the evening, it's a little more expensive than other places we went to but the food and ambience were on a different level. Would have been a 5 star review apart from the dry pork.

Kaneo restaurant is a true masterpiece in Ohrid! The atmosphere near the lake was amazing, the staff managed to help us and get a table even without a reservation on order not to miss the experience of eating there. They were really kind and helpful. However a reservation is a better way to be safe and without any worries. The food was tasty. The vegetarian plates were a lot, so you have options. Pasta and meat also are included in the menu. However the salad was prepared a head of time, not so delicious and fresh. Didn't like the bread and the tenderloin meat that I ordered was just ok. All in all, a good experience. You must give it a try 😊

Amazingggg, one of the best meals I ever had, ate the fillet mignon verde, fish soup, sourdough bread, and octopus salad, and everything was perfect! The view is incredible, and the staff was super friendly and helpful! Would definately reccomend, and will return one day!
