Kaneyoshi Ryokan

Located right on Dotonburi, you have access to all sorts of food, shopping, and a station. Room was enough to fit 4 lads with luggage and had a nice place to lounge while looking at the street and river. Hosts were very good at check-in and gave good advice on places we were traveling to and was able to communicate in different languages. Common bath upstairs was great to use winding down a long day of walking and prepared us for our visit to another set of hot springs.

It's suitable for family. Room is same in review tatami. Old fashion & traditional. I like the tea table & chair. Toilet is clean. It's just in the middle of Dotonbori street. It's crowded & abit trash on the street.

Great location on a tourist street, so it could be a little noisy during the evenings outside. Service is exceptional, and everything you need is in the room. The staff is very friendly! Be aware the front desk works until 1 AM. There are a lot of great places, such as bars and shops close to the hotel. You can get to most tourist places in Osaka such as the oceanarium and Osaka Castle in around 40 minutes by subway. There are western and Japanese style rooms and private baths you can use. Overall, a great place to stay during your trip to Osaka.

I stayed here during my stay on Dotonbori. Definitely one of the best ryokan in the area. The staff are the absolute sweetest, down to earth, and very kind. Their hospitality is absolutely amazing! Very clean rooms and is equipped with an indoor onsen (separated for male and female). Authentic room set up with tatami floors and futtons. I will never forget being wished well by one of the staff as we exited. Almost brought a tear to my eyes, was a very touching moment indeed and made me feel not wanting to leave.

one of my best stays in japan ! the staff was very kind and welcoming, room is pretty huge ! you’re literally on the busiest street in the city but the inside is peaceful and traditional. also has a bathhouse and nobody was there ! would recommend

A delightful ryokan stay with a beautiful view of Dotonbori. The owner was incredibly friendly and informative, making us feel right at home. The ryokan was exceptionally clean, and the free water provided was a nice touch. To top it off, there’s an onsen on the top floor, which added to the relaxing experience. This stay exceeded our expectations in every way—highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and authentic stay in Osaka.

Not a good experience. To be honest, the location is good, the room is just okay, the service is… we were told must pay cash for “city tax” and luggage fees. We don’t have enough cash, actually only need 200 yen more. They still asked us to withdraw this 200 yen( 2 dollars). Before 5 pm the luggage is free, we picked up our luggage around 6 pm. We were okay to pay 1000 yen, but don’t understand that they refused to waive 200 yen and asked us to find a place to withdraw the cash for them? Luckily we have some US dollars. It took 1.5 hours to find a money exchange machine. Osaka is our last stop, so we don’t have and we shouldn’t have too many cash with us, don’t know why we can’t pay with card? In addition, they don’t allow us to open our luggage in the lobby. If you have few more items need to put in your luggage, don’t expect you can do that until you arrived airport. The hotel doesn’t allow you to repackage your luggage in the lobby. Rules are very strict and not friendly

The room was clean and well maintained. We were in a great location on the 4th floor, overlooking The River at Dotonbori, and there was quite a lot of activity, lights, and noise. However, the blackout curtains were very helpful to block these out for sleep. The pillows were VERY hard so did not sleep that well. The room had a small bar fridge, kettle and very good heater. The room also had a full bathroom, clean and modern, which is rare in this location. Hotel had a lift and stairs, so access was easy. Fresh water was available at a dispenser on every floor. We would stay again on some conditions: better pillows and better pricing (disappointed to see that we paid double the current rate).
