Kang Ultra Stop

Due to the length of our trip, from rsa to nam, ultrastop was suggested. We prebooked and got a price of P870 and when we checked in we had to pay P950. I complained but the staff member refused to budge. I did send an email complaining about this, but no response, as yet. I won't go into details about the rooms and facilities, very overrated and not worth the amount we paid. Don't expect me to stay there ever again.

Very nice stop-over from Hentiesbay, The rooms are comfortable. The air-conditioning helps a lot, as this is in the Kalahari. Very nice swimming pool. The restaurant and bar are good. It is ideally situated on the Trans Kalahari highway, right next to the road and also includes a Fuel Station and convenience shop.

Service was great and the staff were friendly and going out of their|way to help us. Rooms were clean. Staff were going an extra mile for the guests. Food was nice and they even opened the bar for us to quench the first.|We will definitely go again.

Waist of money. No power in the rooms but the filling station has power. Half the stuff on the restaurant menu not available, way over priced with local products. Reception refuse to show our room in the dark without room numbers. Drive around the corner and support Echo Lodge.

We got there around 7:30pm.. We were exhausted and mentally drained from night driving on a road with Game all over. We ate good food..had hot showers and slept in clean beds. Got up happy and refreshed for the road ahead😊

I have to say that this place wildly exceeded my expectations. The bedrooms are spacious, clean and modern and we had our first sight of TV in days so were able to catch up. The bathroom was large and the shower good and hot (with amenities - shampoo etc). The pool looks really nice, although we didn’t get the chance for a dip, and the camp grounds were clean and well kept. ||The only disappointment was that the bar/liquor store was closed when we arrived (which admittedly was after 9pm on a Saturday) so we couldn’t get a drink, having spent some 12 hours in a van crossing the Kalahari. I would have tried harder to buy a few beers somewhere on the way if I’d known.

We decided to overnight here on our way back from the Delta, on the 3rd January 2024 around 8pm, We encountered the most terrible customer experience ever at the restaurant and the lodge too. Will never set foot here ever again let alone recommend this place to anyone..

Cons: Only reluctantly did staff rectify a booking error, the restaurant put incorrect charges on the bill, which the reception again only reluctantly fixed. Windows were left open, allowing mosquitoes and moths in; woke up with bites. Dead insects on the floor. The towels were not in the bathroom; had to hunt through the chest of drawers for them. Pros: The room itself was otherwise comfortable, the AC worked. The restaurant was accommodating and made a nice vegetarian platter despite the meat-heavy menu.
