Although very well located near Casco Viejo, the access streets are dimly lit and feel abandoned making the entrance an uncomfortable experience. The restaurant is a rooftop experience with open air terrace and a smaller indoor space which has an African theme/decor that is very basic. The atmosphere is accompanied by a DJ who seemed to play a constant beat that was tiring after a while. The menu was limited, but what we ordered was very tasty. We had Ceviche, hot rock beef strips, rib eye and a white fish grilled with lemon sauce. Unfortunately the fish was nicely charred on the outside but not sufficiently cooked on the inside. We ordered Vodka and Soda and Paloma’s. But received a margarita instead. Twice. So we gave up trying to order a Paloma grapefruit juice and tequila). We also ordered a desert which was never provided even though the server acknowledged our order. But it was not included in the final bill. We dined from 8-11. At 8 the restaurant was quite empty but as we left around 11, the restaurant began to fill up - which surprised us as we were there on a Sunday night. Bottom line - festive atmosphere but over priced for the food and service quality.

Kanibal is an absolute gem in Panama. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was incredible—warm, stylish, and full of energy without ever feeling overwhelming. It truly set the tone for what became one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Every dish was perfectly prepared, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. You can tell the kitchen puts real passion into their food. A special thank-you to our server, Alanys, who made the entire experience unforgettable. She spoke flawless English and Spanish, was extremely attentive, and guided us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm. She elevated the night even more. If you’re visiting Panama City, Kanibal should be at the top of your list. Exceptional atmosphere, outstanding food, and world-class service.

The food was very good. The atmosphere was fun. However they must have been severely short staffed when we went because the service was awful. I rarely let bad service effect my overall experience but this one was so bad, that it made the meal less enjoyable. Had to chase down our waiter for everything. We were ignored the entire time. Also the drinks took so long to reach our table that they were watered down from the melted ice when we finally got them.

Excellent ambience with amazing rooftop views of Panama City. The staff were very attentive and friendly throughout. They have live music and performances. You can sit inside like we did if you'd prefer for it to be quieter. The food is good, but the servings are very small. You'll need to order at least 5 items between 2 people to not leave hungry. Overall, it's worth visiting once, but not somewhere I'd repeat as there's better options for food in the city.

One of my favorite rooftop restaurants in PC with excellent views and good food. Reservation may be better for the outdoor seating.

Beautiful atmosphere and nice staff but my chicken entree was inedible and when I pointed it out to the staff I was told it was safe to eat because it had been sous vide cooked. I was baffled because the chicken was clearly pink and they didn't even reduce the bill. Also I wouldn't recommend the mushroom ravioli, it had the texture of baby food. My wife had a great steak but I can't get passed the raw chicken.

Highly overrated for the food and service. Unlike other reviewers, our host wasn’t attentive at all. We were there earlier in the evening and they didnt even have the rooftop lights turned on making the atmosphere very dark (not in a romantic way at all). For food, both octopus and meat were very chewy

The rooftop offers a beautiful view of Panama City. The food was fresh and really delicious! The staff was super friendly and attentive. Definitely a must try!
