As a Google Local Guide, I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Kankaria Carnival in Ahmedabad, and it was truly a world-class experience. The entire Lakefront has been transformed into a magical wonderland. Key Highlights of my visit: Spectacular Ambience: The lighting and decorations are breathtaking. The reflection of the colorful lights on the lake water creates a picturesque view that is perfect for photography. Cultural Extravaganza: The live performances, ranging from traditional Gujarati folk dances to modern musical acts, showcase the rich heritage of India. Family Friendly: With the Atal Express (Toy Train), Kids City, and various amusement rides, it is a paradise for children and families. Gastronomic Delight: The food stalls offer a wide array of local and international cuisines. Don't miss out on the authentic Amdavad-style street food! Excellent Management: I was highly impressed by the crowd management, cleanliness, and security arrangements made by the AMC despite the massive footfall. Pro-Tip for Visitors: The carnival gets very crowded during the weekends. I recommend using Public Transport Metro or BRTS to avoid parking hassles. Arriving around 5:00 PM is ideal to enjoy both the sunset and the night illumination. A must-visit annual event that perfectly captures the spirit of Ahmedabad!

I recently visited Kankaria Lake, and overall it was a very enjoyable outing. Just a heads-up — weekends get crowded, so if you prefer a quieter experience, visiting on a weekday will definitely feel better. There’s dedicated parking, which is convenient and once you’re inside you’ll find plenty of activities. Adventure Land and Balvatika are good picks if you want something fun beyond the usual walk around the lake. The musical laser light show was a nice touch — definitely worth catching while you’re there. Honestly, one of the best parts was simply sitting by the lake and taking in the view — it’s surprisingly calming despite the crowd. There are food court options and washrooms inside, so you don’t have to worry about stepping out and re-entering. Overall, it’s a great place for families, couples, or friends who just want a simple, refreshing outing without spending much.

I stayed in a hotel very near to this lake. Until the last day of my stay, I did not get to visit the lake, so I went there very early in the morning on my last day in Ahemdabad. It seems entire Ahemdabad comes here to walk every morning. :) It wasn't even the weekend. This lake and its premise is huge. There are parks within the parks. It has its own butterfly garden as well. I could not see many kids in the morning, I suppose they must visit in the evening. The lake is huge. Water is not clear - but not dirty as well. There are many langoors and they roam around fearlessly. Humans were more afraid of them, than they were of humans. I liked the vibe of this place. Every city should have such a place, I feel. I think it's a perfect place to sit & relax.

Absolutely loved it. The lake is very beautiful and amazing. It has few entry points but not all of them have parking option available. There are so many activities to do in the lake. Lots of food options. Lots of amazing activities. The train is very amazing, it gives you a one round about tour of a lake. In addition with that, it has flower garden, fishes to see and joy to experience.

Kankaria Lake is a lively, family friendly spot with Balvatika, fun rides, boat activities, a zoo, and evening lights. Perfect for kids, walks, and local snacks fun for a full day out!

A place that has absolutely everything and easy to reach it has different gates to enter so plan accordingly where you want to go. There are two zoo inside, one adventure park and a train that is the most popular attraction of the location, the queue for the train is too long as many school and college students come there for picnic. Overall a must pic place. Take ample time to make the most of this location.
