Perfect location with stunning lake views Our stay at Kankarwa Haveli was excellent in every way. This traditional haveli offers everything you could want for exploring Udaipur. The location is simply unbeatable - right in the heart of the old city, with spectacular views of Lake Pichola and the Lake Palace. Waking up to this panoramic vista is truly magical. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully appointed with a magnificent lake view. The property maintains high standards of cleanliness and comfort throughout. The breakfast was delicious and enjoying it while overlooking the lake was a wonderful way to start each day. The staff provided attentive and friendly service during our entire stay. This haveli is ideal for travelers who want to be in the center of the action, within walking distance of Udaipur's main attractions while still enjoying peaceful lake views and traditional Rajasthani architecture. We couldn't find anything to fault - a thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Udaipur!

Our stay at Kankarwa was tainted by a few things. Whilst it’s a great location and the rooftop for breakfast is lovely, both our room and transport arranged by the hotel were not great. We’d booked a lake view room. While we had a view of the lake, the window was small and the room was dark, different to the ones in other rooms we’d seen in photos when booking. We did peak inside some other rooms, which appeared more like the photos! It was also noisy being on the ground floor, after 10pm we could hear the reception telephone ringing and other guests sat outside our room in the courtyard smoking. The bed was hard and there wasn’t enough toilet roll. On transport, we booked a driver through Kankarwa to take us Jodhpur - Udaipur. We know the Indian roads can be a bit crazy, but with other drivers we’d had on our trip around India we never felt unsafe as we did on this drive. As well as very aggressive and unsafe driving, the driver kept taking phone calls and having very loud arguments on the phone. We were really unhappy with the transport and complained to Kankarwa at both check-in and check-out, but they didn’t offer any kind of compensation / reduction. One more thing on transport, you have to get a rickshaw for the final 1km to the hotel, and this was meant to be included in the taxi price (the hotel staff specifically said this) but on both occasions we had taxis organised by Kankarwa the rickshaw drivers forced us to pay again.

This is a stunning havi with wonderful views over the lake palace & opposite lakefront from both bedrooms & the rooftop restaurant. Our rooms were beautiful and the beds comfortable. The whole place oozes charm, with many lovely original features and gorgeous artworks. It’s also a really easy & short walk to the City Palace and it’s surrounded by small handicraft shops. Definitely try the paratha for breakfast and get yourself a cool drink to enjoy with the sunset from the roof terrace.

What an amazing location with views over Lake Pichola! We had a room at the top of the hotel. 3 flights of stairs and a spiral staircase to get there. Absolutely fine for us, but not so if you struggle with stairs. |We had a terrace and a tiny balcony, good for enjoying a drink whilst watching the sunset. |Our bed was comfortable, the bathroom very quirky which may not be forever everyone. |Breakfast was excellent served on the terrace overlooking the lake. There’s a good restaurant a few steps away and easy access to tourist sites.|Only downside was the very loud TV and music on the roof of the hotel next door. Usually sound turned down by 11 but made resting difficult.

We had a pleasant stay at Kankarwa Haveli. It’s a beautiful heritage property, and the owner was very polite 🙂. We didn’t try the food, so can’t comment on that, but they do have a rooftop restaurant with a stunning view. Some rooms also come with a lovely lake view — we were lucky to have one of those. A couple of things to keep in mind before booking: the property doesn’t have a lift, so it might not be suitable for elderly guests. Also, the location is such that cars can’t reach the haveli directly; you’ll need to take an auto rickshaw or walk a short distance.

Lovely building in a lovely location however an unpleasant place to stay. Bathroom in a Deluxe Suite costing 11,000 rupees per night was grotty and not properly cleaned. Mugs were dirty, shower was cold and electrics unsafe. When issues were raised we were just met with indifference. Debated leaving the hotel early even though we had prepaid. A lot of the issues could have overlooked if it wasn’t for how expensive it was

We stayed at this hotel in April. The location is absolutely fantastic, the rooms are beautiful and the staff super friendly. Our room had a window overlooking the lake, we immediately felt comfortable. The room was big and so was the bathroom. Very good cleanliness. Breakfast is served on the hotel terrace overlooking the lake. We would love to come back!

Family owned and operated - on site. Staff helpful and polite. A beautiful historic Haveli in an excellent location over looking Lake. Immediate walking to shops & restaurants in the old city, or dining upstairs on their rooftop with incredible views. I booked 6 rooms travelling as a group and the only feedback provided that was a negative is there was no room heater. Otherwise it was a very positive experience for our group of 11. I should add that we did not ask for heating as ample bedding was supplied. Rooms very clean, nicely maintained & decorated. A positive experience.
