Wow, the pictures they have on their page makes it appear as though you will get killed, tortured or diseased here. Do not let it fool you! This place is clean, bright and airy on the inside. Since the rooms and most of the bathrooms are on the upper floor, there are some nice views you can get of the nearby landmarks and lively alleyways made up of cobblestone and unnamed buildings. It's quite lovely actually.
The hostel itself is located in Old Town, which makes it really convenient to do all the touristy things your heart desires and is the only one in that particular area. If you're coming from the train station with two young British guys that you swore were an old married couple, like I did, be prepared for a very long walk to the hostel. The buses that run from the train station to Old Town, don't really stop close to the actual location of the hostel. And visible street names, forget about it. Man, never in my life, did I desire a map in Google form so badly. But if you keep your wits about you, you will eventually find it, even with a useless tweedle-dee and tweedle-gorgeous by your side.
Do check out the view of the city, by heading down the outside corridor to the ledge/balcony/large sitting area to the right of the hostel. It's a scenic and peaceful retreat from the bustling area a stone's throw away.
Also, there were no complaints about the beds, rooms, or bathrooms. Everything was comfortable and they were kept well. Don't expect breakfast, common areas are tiny, and staff were competent. But seriously, you guys need to fix your washing machine. A screwdriver. That is how you open the damn thing. I'm surprised no one's lost an eye prying that contraption of death open. But hey, it did the job. So thanks! :D
