I love it here. I can hop over for a beer and even some vegan comfort food right off the trail on an evening I’m riding my bike. Everyone I’ve experienced who works there has been awesome and super accommodating, and I love both the inside atmospheres and (especially) the outside. Their beer is great. Food is great. Go!

Dana Cable

Google
Relaxed casual atmosphere. Good food. Wine available. No stout. Excellent service!

We took the tour for a friends birthday, then hung out and enjoyed the food and beer for a few hours The tour was absolutely amazing. For a price of $10, most of the people were a bit tipsy and educated on the brewing process. Definitely worth it, and I’m thinking about making this a recurring tour visit. The beers are all great and very purposeful. Whether you’re a novice or a beginner, the education is amazing. Outside of the tour, the staff is on top of it and willing to do whatever it takes for you to have a great experience. I strongly recommend a visit.

James and the team are always a pleasure! As a Waldo resident it's so nice to have this business in our neighborhood and all the community organizations they support.

Google
I loved my short visit to the Kansas City Bier Company. Tried the Eiz Weiss and loved it. Spicy and complex – a full bodied darker wheat beer. The atmosphere was friendly and upbeat. The space - with high ceilings - is quite airy with a European beer hall. Feel to it. Something like modern German. The bar is well designed. Long table seating is reminiscent of those German beer halls. I’ve enjoyed every beer I’ve had from the Kansas City Bier Company, and I’m looking forward to more innovation from them in the future.

Google
Great German style restaurant/brewery! Very family/kid friendly with lots of outdoor seating and play space. Incredible beers options with traditional German foods. They even have vegan options! The vegan brat is great, and there is a lot more!

Google
Food and beer were pretty good. We went on a Wednesday night, which was a mistake. They do music bingo and only play 30 seconds of every song between calling bingo spots. It is auditory torture, every song is really good, but the "DJ" inevitably skips the song right as you get into the groove. Again, good food, good drinks, bad music. If I got to hear the entirety of a song (even with a brief interruption for bingo) I'd be happy.

Google
This place has a sleek, industrial look to it--not something I'd expect from a German-themed joint. We dropped in for a couple of beers, some wurst (they're okay), and to watch some football on their televisions. Unfortunately, they had turned off the television audio and were playing bland/typical pop music. The entire experience felt very sterile, characterless. I'm a fan of KC Bier's brews, but I wasn't so wowed by this drinking establishment. I have no complaints about the service, and the place seemed extremely clean--hence the four stars.

Yelp
I've been here a few times with one of my friends I studied abroad with. We came for music bingo one time and it was a really good ambiance! The pretzels are amazing, and the bier is even better, for the price of what it is in a bottle. Really liked my server, and the host of the trivia! Will be back :)

Will S.

Yelp
One of the best. Great vibes all around. Inexpensive but authentic, delicious food, outstanding draught beer, and exceptional programming, from trivia to jazz or polka, to Sound of Music sing-along. A crowd pleaser every time

Yelp
Came here for a happy hour and really liked it! Great German beer and food options. We sat out on the patio which was very spacious and we were well attended to.

Yelp
My wife and I were on vacation in Kansas City visiting family. It was early May; our cousins live right near Kansas City Bier Company so naturally they had to share their favorite brewery with us. They knew I was a lame Yelp Elite and somewhat of a beer snob. Well, let me tell you! Kansas City Bier Co. did NOT disappoint. I quaffed down several pints of the Helles lager. It was crisp and delicious and very much in the true German fashion of what a Helles Lager should be. In fact, the entire theme/vibe of this brewery is full tilt German. The food was no less German, in fact, it was some of the most German sounding food I've ever had. We ordered this giant slab of meat on some squared looking thing of bread. Turns out it's called Leberkäse and the bread is simply ciabatta. My cousins, not to be outdone, ordered this massive bratwurst nestled between a ciabatta roll. Ya really can't go wrong with meat and bread washed down with a great beer. I'm writing this review from an office cubicle in downtown Richmond daydreaming of being anywhere but here. Kansas City Bier Co. is worth every star on Yelp. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
Food - consistenly good Service - good Ambiance - Beer Bar vibes Been here several times now and I gottta give a shout out to their Beer Cheese Soup, Their sauerkraut, and their many varied wursts. (Dunkel, weiss, even a vegan option and a "slim jim" like one). Today, 7/11/2024 - one brat, and 2 small (2 oz) sides - Beer Cheese Soup and Sauerkraut. Both were tasty and on par with one's expectations... At the table or bar is also 2 mustards, the lighter one is like plochmans/French's, the other one is a darker mustard with a nice sweetness to it. Naturally, their beers/biers are spot on. Dunkel is a fav, and the rest have better flavor than Boulevard's options IMHO.
google avatar

Monica P.

Yelp
Great expectations that were delivered when we finally made a trip to KC BierCo. The space is war and inviting just like a German bier hall. There is an adjacent bier garten that is BONUS dog friendly. The bier (Dunkel) and pretzels were great! Enjoyed this immensely and will return over and over. PROST! Bitte Steve H.

Yelp
My husband & I were in Kansas City visiting a friend & he brought us to KC Bier Co. We sat outside at one of the picnic tables to have some drinks & snacks. My husband tried a few of their beers which he really liked & I enjoyed their hard cider. Between 4 of us, we split a giant pretzel & my husband & I HAD to try their beer cheese soup. It was delicious! The service & the atmosphere were both great! I would definitely visit here on our next trip!

Yelp
Friendly service. Neighborhood vibes... relax environment. We sat at the back room and it was nice. Food is unique.. everything we tried was good

Yelp
I'm a big fan of this place. Knowing that their Dunkel is easily one of my favorite beers, I was excited to recently visit and go on the tour of the brewery. It was truly fantastic and I've enjoyed several of the beers here. They have a nice unique seating area and an outstanding patio. They have a setup inside for live music as well, though I'm not certain of what nights they do it. Fun fact: given that they specialize in German beer, I learned that the Dunkel is actually pronounced "doonkel." I'm now gifted with the knowledge but cursed that every time I order it now a server anywhere will nicely correct me, clarifying that I want the "duhnkel." Prost!

Yelp
How This place does not get five stars by everyone that comes here baffles me! The beer is incredible, the food is good, and the service is great. It's very efficient very quick to take your order, Check out lovely atmosphere free music. What is there not to love about this place? I just wish it was in my neighborhood. Great IPA too

Yelp
Nice brewery. Liked the outside seating area. Good German beers. Well made. Big beers. Good service. Free stickers.

Yelp
German beer and German food! The best. Great music to drink and have fun listening to and a lot of room outside for family and kids to run around

Yelp
Love this taste of Germany, and love how it's set up off of the Trolley Trail and gives life to this stretch of Waldo. I have great memories of this place over the years, from Yelp events, to taking our dog here as a little pup. It's the quintessential German bier hall, with wooden tables, a biergarten outside, soccer often playing inside, and loads of well-made beers (biers?). As time has marched on, it's nice to know that this place is kid-friendly as well. Our kids loved the dunkel brats and pretzels, but I will say there isn't much for them to actually do. A suggestion would be some board games, some little cozy coupes to cruise around in, or even a small playground in the big green space nearby. I tell ya, us parents needing a break would love it. I remember doing a beer tour here and the owner explained the process of the beers. It's very technical, and in his words, a bit "boring" compared to the super trendy IPAs and whatnot out there. For me, it hits the spot especially in the summer as many of the beers here are light and refreshing. The Helles or the Dunkel are a go-to for me, and I like seeing what's available seasonally as well. Overall, a great brewery that holds high esteem in the KC brewery scene. I think this is a great spot to visit on a nice night, and love that one could ride their bike ride up to the biergarten here.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite beer spots in Kansas City. The outdoor seating during the warmer months is a great place to gather with friends and enjoy a cold brew. We like to order at the indoor bar and then head outside. If you're looking to grab a bite to eat, I highly recommend the Barvarian Style 16oz pretzel. Warning though, it's enough for 2-4 people! We've always been greeted with friendly service. The staff here is always kind and willing to explain the beers on tap. We will definitely be back to KC Bier Co.
google avatar

Bobbie H.

Yelp
Grabbed a couple apple ciders with a friend at KC Bier Co last night! The beer was great, the service was pretty good, they were so packed! There was some live music and authentic German vibes all around. They have a huge outdoor area which is family friendly and I look forward to going back once the weather warms up. I ordered the two sausages plus two sides to go. The potato salad was tasty. The pretzel was a little hard, but still good. The sausages had great flavor, I had the dunkel and the cheddar ones. I wish they would have packed some of their mustards to go. I did not realize until I got home there wasn't any. Will have to try them next time I eat there. Overall cool place and great beer.

Yelp
Really fun and interesting tour at KC Bier Co for the Yelp event! The samples were very large and I already had a drink which I wouldn't have if I would've known haha. Every beverage I tried was delicious, would like to go back and try different food and drink more beer. Patio looks great for summertime!

Darin N.

Yelp
It was a fun way to spend Father's Day afternoon. We did the brewery tour with Jay and had a great time. Afterward enjoyed more of the beers we had sampled along with some good pretzels and sausages. The entire staff was top notch. A fun Bier Hall atmosphere for the entire family, young and old. I look forward to returning.

Yelp
Kansas City Bier Co is a local brewery. They have great food and make some great German beers. The staff are friendly and service is quick. There's a lovely patio outback that is great to sit and hang out with friends. They also make some food although I didn't try and this time around maybe I will next.
google avatar

Amanda M.

Yelp
KC Bier Co is the best! The patio is tops and the Festbier is, hands down, one of my favorite beers in Kansas City! The pretzels, the beer cheese soup, the brats, ... This joint always comes to mind when we have out of town guests who enjoy classic German style brews and sunshine. Dog friendly patio too! Check out their event schedule. We've been for Trivia and it's packed and competitive. We have lots of love for KC Bier Co!

Tommy L.

Yelp
The short hispanic female waitress was terrible. Made me feel stupid for not knowing which beer i had bought (in german). After i had confirmed it was my beer she walked away and mocked me to a fellow coworker. The service was a disaster, servers coming and going so fast you couldn't get a word in. After waiting 45 minutes for our appetizer, dinner was obviously going to take too long so we drank our beer and left. It was my first time there and will be my last!
google avatar

Givon B.

Yelp
A little taste of German culture hidden right in the Waldo neighborhood, KC Bier Co serves up great beer and food. Their German beers are brewed with authentic German ingredients, man of their food dishes are based on German dishes as well. The Bierhalle looks similar to a neighborhood bar you would find in Germany, while the outside patio is huge and is perfect for large groups of friends to imbibe, while also being family friendly allowing kids to run around on the grass outside of the patio. Definitely a win win situation. If it's your first time going, I suggest you get the Hefeweizen, it's my favorite!
google avatar

Jacob S.

Yelp
Our whole family loves this place. It's great for kids too! The servers are wonderful, the food is delicious and the beer selection has something for everyone. We love sitting outside so the kids can play in the field. The patio is a great place to be on a warm Missouri evening.

Yelp
Always like delving into the craft beer scene in Kansas City. There aren't a lot of breweries here(but enough and the amount has increased) compared to the mecca brewery states but the ones I have been to have been enjoyable in the past when visiting this city... even though it's not frequent. KC Bier Co is no exception and the Festbier that I got from this brewery was tasty and a fun beer to drink. This beer was a Vienna style lager and had clean, malty and sweet highlights to the flavor. A nice, light outing type beer with this brewery.

Yelp
I really loved this place, it had such a great casual atmosphere and the low lighting was perfect, not too dark not too bright and a warm tone. The seating is benches at long tables and a bar height table with stools. Our waiter was very attentive and charismatic and knew his beers. The pretzel and beer cheese was very good, I wish I had gotten a bigger one. I had the cider this time because I don't like beer, and it was pretty good, though I didn't finish it, I gave it to my friend to drink. Most of the words on the menu are in german, but there are also descriptions underneath that you can read, which are helpful. I would definitely come back again, I really enjoyed the experience. Our group talked for a long time and it was very leisurely and not too busy on the Wednesday evening we went. We didn't feel rushed out or anything. Would highly recommend, and a good place for larger group gatherings because of the big tables.

Graab L.

Yelp
Loved all the beers I tried here. The food was great the atmosphere was great. I'm from Los Angeles but if I ever get back out there I'm definitely making this a stop. I went out there for a chiefs game over a weekend and went to this place twice I liked it that much. They had a little band going both times with a polka feel.
google avatar

Bailey K.

Yelp
Great service. Relaxing atmosphere. Authentic German beer that I think meets the German Beer Purity Laws (Reinheitsgebot). Food was pretty decent too! Fun hang out spot!
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
I LOVE KC BIER CO! Not only is their beer amazing, but their food is SO good, and their outdoor seating is fantastic. Tons of picnic tables for friends to hang out. You literally can't go wrong with any of their food options. The festbier is my personal favorite brew. And if you haven't attended their KC Oktoberfest at Crown Center each fall it is a MUST DO in town!!!

Yelp
Food was good, I don't like German food , but the drinks and the pretzels were great, service was great , sometime they come by to check on us , they were very busy that night. The place is laid out , with limited seating , but the patio was very spacious.

Steve K.

Yelp
Went there for the 1st time yesterday for a family gathering. I've purchased there beer at stores over the past few years and very much enjoy it. The ambiance is like a small german beer hall complete with live polka music when we were there. Food is very good and don't skip the strudel. I have read that they are opening a 2nd place in Lenexa. That's super exciting for us. We could easily ride our bikes to this. When does that open? I'm thirsty!

Yelp
My son wanted to pick up some seasonal beer so we heated here for a Saturday lunch. He's been here a couple times but was my first. I sampled some beerb and it was ok. My son had his favorites. He's much more into new than I am. But he highly recommended the new soup and the strudel. I got both and some with a couple of bierocks. I like bierocks but these were made with sausage and so were very different from any I'd had. So hot and delicious. My son ordered a couple kinds of sausage and let me taste... Wow... So good. The pretzel was nice too. The soup was excellent. You could come here just for that. Fun and casual atmosphere with an interesting mix of patrons... Almost like a visit to a German bar. There is a little library outside and a place the kids can play next to you if eating outside. Parking is ok but I think timing here is everything cause it can get pretty busy. Well worth your time to fit this into your day... Especially if you're visiting KC.
google avatar

Tony G.

Yelp
This is a great German bier garten in KC. The beer is awesome and the food is as well. It has a super friendly vibe with fast service even when busy.
google avatar

Christina W.

Yelp
The staff here is so rude! Their beer is okay but not worth the trouble experience. We came for the Germany Denmark game last week and the bartender kept talking crap about Germany (in a German bar) and ignored customers trying to order while he screamed in their faces about Denmark. The servers were going through the bier hall yelling at customers to get out of their way. The other thing we noticed is, they have measurements on the glasses but fill every single beer below the line. Why even have a line if you're just going to short people?
google avatar

Richard P.

Yelp
I'm a little sad to report that since my initial stellar review this spot has succumbed to the influence of accountants and number crunchers. Gone is the loose fun vibe and the Biergarten tap shed in favor of a "new service model" (literal quote from a server) where customers wait to be seated at an unmanned host stand. The average cost per .27 - .35 ltr on-site brewed beer/ale is more than $5. I'm old enough to remember when you could get a pint here for that price. Also, their very popular imported pretzels have evidently been left in the dryer too long because they have definitely shrunk in size! We all know the last year has been tough on the service industry in general, but this kind of business model of diminishing service and increased prices is a sure fire way to drive a once thriving enterprise into the ground.
google avatar

Patrick N.

Yelp
This place is just an awesome place to chill and have a pint or more with friends and family. Staff are so awesome and many have been there for years which tells you a lot by itself. Food is tasty and the beer is fantastic. My biggest gripe is I can never decide what to have next. Ive been here with my family, young kids included and have never had an off vibe from anyone. Probably have been here about 10x and have never sat inside.
google avatar

Mark G.

Yelp
This is a great atmosphere for socializing over beers with your friends. The property is very clean with plenty of shaded, outdoor seating. Unfortunately the beer is nothing special. I will return but mainly because it's a very kind, welcoming atmosphere.
google avatar

Charley B.

Yelp
Update time... KC Bier might be Kansas City's best brewery. Its Biergarten is definitely one of the best outdoor spots in town. If you know you know, right?
google avatar

Angela N.

Yelp
Beer is awesome especially their Edelweiss! Very friendly staff and regular customers. They have lots of fun activities and events. The outside space is beautiful and dogs are welcomed!
google avatar

Matt C.

Yelp
If you are looking for German style beers this is a must stop! Great beer and food, and fantastic patio. They have Wi-Fi if looking for a place to work and are dog friendly. Happy hour as well from 3-6.
google avatar

Soncerae M.

Yelp
We've been coming to KC Bier co since 2015 and it's a staple anytime we visit the area! The staff has ALWAYS been super friendly and helpful. We never feel rushed and my husband is able to try whatever he's considering to order. This past visit we got the 16oz pretzel and GOOD NIGHT IT IS SO GOOD! We also as a group (the other patrons lol) watched Karate Kid on the big screen TV and shared the Rollercoaster of emotions that is the plot ‍ It was nice to feel a part of something again, even if it was socially distant!
google avatar

Becca B.

Yelp
I LOVE LOVE LOVE KC Bier Co! We will walk our dogs down to KC Bier Co & will enjoy a tasty, fresh brewed beer. The menu is limited but has tasty German dishes to snack on. Snag a spot on the patio to enjoy the weather.

Kelly D.

Yelp
One of the best brewery stops in KC. Great beer and old world beer hall ambiance. The simple menu is good, special mention are the pretzels. Make new friends with the menu picnic table seating.
google avatar

Spencer E.

Yelp
We just stopped by for a quick pint & pretzel but the place was packed for a Sunday arvo. Great space outside to enjoy the day & it looks like they host a lot of fun events. Nice local brewery for KC
google avatar

Holland V.

Yelp
So, let me start out by saying I'm not a big German beer gal, so I won't be rating on that. The vibes were good, we sat at the bar and got some beer and the pretzel. They only serve mustard, no beer cheese, I prefer both, but the mustards were really good! Overall a cool place, feel like locals hang out here. Saw our bartender ripping her vape pen behind the counter, and while I could care less, the giant cloud of smoke came billowing about the bar lol. I don't think I'd be back strictly because I didn't like the beer options, overall good spot tho.
google avatar

Devan D.

Yelp
I love KC Bier Co! Ever since I first tried their Dunkel years ago, I've been a fan. They do such a great line-up of Bavarian inspired beers and always have such wonderful service. I have had over 20 of their beers and have yet to find one I do not like. The Dunkel, Helles, and Hefeweizen are their holy Trinity year-round. The Dunkel and Helles are as good as any beer I've found in Germany and in my opinion, the Hefeweizen is the best wheat beer in the city. Wonderful, warm space. Amazing biergarten outside! And great menu line up!
google avatar

Erica G.

Yelp
This place has great beer, wonderful people, and yummy food. I loved the tour of the brewery, it was such a great experience with some out-of-town friends. I'm not usually a beer person but I enjoyed the tastings of beer and actually ordered more afterwards. After the tour we sat outside and had some snacks and drinks. Their food menu is small which is understandable being a brewery, but the food they did have was very, very good and is definitely worth going back for.
google avatar

Trish K.

Yelp
KC Bier Co has a great vibe! We were lucky to stop by on a warm Saturday, and enjoy the large patio. It seemed very family and dog friendly. The beers and soft pretzel were good. Definitely a spot to check out if you're looking for a casual day or need room for a large group.

Yelp
"Brewery Babe" Brewery #1- KC Bier Co Day: last wednesday in may Time - 3:45pm (happy hour going on) I have been to Kansas City Bier Company before two or so years back but only enjoyed beer on the patio, or bier garden, no food because a lot of doggies were involved. So, I decided to give it another try a few days ago. I gave the beer another shot and the food a first go. The surprising thing is the food alone is 4-5 star territory however, I don't care for the beer too much. I remember from a few "boulevardias" and some prior yelp kc brewery tours that I am not a big fan of the German 4-ingredient purity law following beers. They simply aren't hoppy enough for me. But I tried KC Bier Co's most hoppy seasonal selection the Der Bauer. Sadly though after I had taken my first sip I was told it wasn't included in happy hour and was full price for a Tulip pour. So, for my second beer I stuck with the clasic Hefeweizen, which tasted as it has in the past, bland with some notes of banana. Now onto the food, the comfort style German food was something I'd come back for. The special was $11 and was a trifecta of earthy warm mushrooms, breaded pan fried pork and spetzel. This meal was a wonderful midweek early dinner and made my Wednesday complete. The flavor of the food made up for the lack there of in the beer. They complemented each other okay because the salt heavy comfort food needed a crisp uncomplicated beer to accompany it.
google avatar

Linda O.

Yelp
Looking for something to do on a sunny Saturday afternoon? The Bier garden is your place. Lively German music, great beer ( bier) selections and yummy German brats and pretzels are the ticket! The staff is super friendly and so knowledgeable about their brews. Dogs are welcome on the outdoor concrete area, so don't leave Fido home. This can be a full family affair. My absolute favorite was the Bierkassensuppe, cheese soup . At $4.00 it's a real bargain and super filling. All the prices I felt were very affordable. The vibe is light and fun and the crowd is of all ages

Yelp
I am a fan of any place where you can drink a whole liter of beer on a Tuesday without any judgement. I already knew I was a huge fan of the KC Bier Co Dunkel, but it was super fun to finally stop into the bierhalle. It's communal seating inside and outside. If it's not busy, it seems like you can seat yourself, but if it's busy you check in with the host to get on the waitlist. At least 50% of the people here on a Tuesday night were wearing KC Bier Co merch, which is always a good sign. The huge 16 oz pretzel was delicious! Definitely recommend getting a side of cheese. The sweet mustard on the table is so delicious, I wanted to steal the bottle to take it home with me or pour the whole bottle in my mouth! Fun place to grab a huge beer with a group and fill your body with snacks. There's plenty of parking in front of the building and across the street! Can't wait to come back to try more beer and brats, and definitely want to check out the brewery tour!
