Tried out this restaurant because of the hype and ordered quite a spread, Jungle Pasta (RM32), Kambing Asap / Smoked Lamb (RM28), Headhunter Pansuh Set (RM42), Kacangma Alfredo Pasta (RM28), Chargrilled Pineapple Burger (RM35), Hawaiian Dayak Pizza (RM36), Cream of Mushroom (RM15), plus assorted drinks.
The food is very much Western-fusion with local touches. Everything was decent, but honestly nothing really stood out flavour-wise. The Jungle Pasta and Kacangma Alfredo Pasta were unique in concept but tasted fairly ordinary. The smoked lamb had good aroma, though a bit on the small side. The pansuh set was interesting but didn’t quite deliver the depth I expected. The burger and pizza leaned more on the Western side, enjoyable but nothing particularly memorable. The cream of mushroom was smooth and comforting but again, standard.
That said, the ambience is lovely, cosy, modern, and a nice place to chill with friends or family. The catch? The bill came up close to RM350 for the lot, which felt rather overpriced for what you get.
Overall, it’s not spectacular for me personally, but still a place I’d say is worth trying at least once, you might appreciate the flavours more than I did.
I did ask about their popular Sponge Cake Prank dessert, but the staff mentioned it’s seasonal and not available at the moment, so maybe that’s something worth coming back for another time.
