Kantina Café - Wine

Lots of seating outside with a few gas heaters and blankets to keep you warm. A handful of tables inside. Decent drink selection and low prices. Happy hour (2 for 1 cocktails) in the afternoon. Toilets (1 per gender) were clean. Staff friendly and helpful.

I had their English Breakfast that comes with coffee for a reasonable price. Good food in an outdoor patio / terrace atmosphere. Recommended.

Food was great, service a bit hit and miss. We ate here twice as our first experience was so great. The food was delicious during both visits, the service was great on the first but not on the second. Happy Hour cocktails were yummy! Good range for vegetarians too.

I visited Kantina Cafe & Wine in Valletta and ordered a Long Island Iced Tea, but I was quite disappointed. The cocktail was not well-balanced, and most importantly, it lacked alcohol, which is essential for this drink. For the price they charge, I expected a stronger and more authentic Long Island. The location is ok, personal is kind and the atmosphere is pleasant, but if you’re looking for a good cocktail, I’d recommend trying another place. Hopefully, they improve their recipe!”

Food was ok, not the freshest , but good for a quick bite. Service however was outstanding very attentive and quick to help.

My partner and I stopped for a late lunch and loved the food. I ordered the So Fresh sandwich with mozzarella, tomato and rocket on a roll with balsamic vinegar as the dressing. Very fresh and quite tasty. My partner ordered the Cheesy Focaccia with mozzarella and garlic butter, he said the sandwich was fantastic. We were able to sit outside and the service was amazing. Highly recommend.

The food is pretty good and happy hour cocktails are great. And I have gotten to know the staff very well because I frequent there a lot. This cafe is situated in the heart of Valletta, a great place to eat and drink, while watching the World go by.

I have to say, the food here was very, very average. Nothing special at all. We ordered a burger, which came in what felt like a store-bought bun. We asked for it to be well done, but were told that it wasn’t possible because “they come pre-made medium”—whatever that means. Definitely not what you expect from a place that serves burgers. We also ordered a stillet and specifically requested it without cheese—the only special request we had. Yet, it still arrived with cheese. We sent it back, and by the time the corrected dish finally arrived, my partner had already finished his meal. Overall, a very underwhelming experience. Wouldn’t rush back.
