左營孔子廟is an interesting and relaxing place to visit.
Unlike the one in Tainan, you can explore all areas without any extra cost for certain sections.
The temple volunteers are very kind and welcoming, and they even offer stamps for those who enjoy collecting them.
A peaceful spot to learn, explore, and enjoy the serene atmosphere.

Beautiful design and structure. I was told it is the largest Confucius temple in Taiwan.

Kaohsiung City Temple of Confucius is a peaceful and beautiful place to learn about Confucian philosophy and culture. The temple's architecture is impressive, with intricate carvings and a serene atmosphere. It’s a great spot for reflection, history, and a break from the city hustle. Definitely worth a visit for those interested in Taiwan's cultural heritage

Large temple for Confucius, his students, and many famous scholars in the Chinese history. The introduction of the traditional instrument and ceremonies is interesting. Great decoration on the ceilings and the walls. Using drums as the seats and tables in the cafeteria is creative.

So sorry it’s closed and looks abandoned. The ponds and gardens all overgrown. I wish in my next visit to Kaohsiung to visit the temple and enjoy its surroundings

We didn't plan to come here and stumbled upon it during our bike ride.
wow. hidden in a fairly remote area and less visited by people lies this great palace.
It happens to be the Confucius temple !
From far we realized it must be someone important.
inside is grand and open. the details on the palace isn't as nice as the other palaces or temples I've been to but it has potential because of its size.
the entrance fee is free.

Several buildings comprise this temple of Confucius, who was a Chinese philosopher and politician whose teachings and philosophy underpin East Asian culture and society across China and East Asia to this day. Exhibits are not many (musical instruments, carved tablets) but very well displayed and preserved. A small coffee shop for refreshments too. The attendant at the gate was exceptionally friendly- a great guy.

This is my first time seeing the inside having passed by here twice while staying with relatives in the neighborhood. A volunteer docent greeted me at the entrance and told me they are open 6 days a week, as long as they have enough volunteers to staff and run the facility. It's not really a temple, per se. The government built a series of shrines around the country honoring Confucius and his teachings, and his code of morality. It's both a history museum and contains replicas of items used during his day. They do hold special events in the courtyard for certain anniversaries, like his birthday. The displays are in Chinese and English. There were school groups here on my visit.
It's a beautiful and peaceful space. The intricate detail of the painted ceilings and eaves are amazing to look at.
