Luckily scored a pop up thing that happened outside the museum! Different crafts of local artists which made the museum trip a lot better. If not i may have given it a 3 star. Museum is only 4 floors, around 2-3 hrs to finish. I think it lacked showcasing the artist, a online thing to scan that had more details of the art. Which is something i look forward to. As a foreigner, it was hard since most were in chinese.

Amazing space! Full of art! People are lovely and welcoming. Recommend you to visit but you should know it takes a lot of time ti see everything. Enjoy your time there, think and relax.

The entire campus is quite peaceful and somewhat well kept. We were there on a weekday, so the crowd wasn't too bad. There was a group of school kids seemingly on their field trip that was making the museum 'lively'. There are three stories to view different types of art. Some are quite nice and some are well...unique. It's a nice place to bring the kids for a half day trip inside the art museum.

One of the best arts museum I visited in many countries. Nice place to walk around with many pieces of fine arts. Entrance fee is not expensive (180TWD per pax). I think the entry fee might vary regarding reach of exhibition period (I don’t think it will be much varied, but yeah, please check again before you visit) The museum composed of 4 floors for the gallery with plus 1 basement gallery. The atmosphere is very nice - bright, chill and clean. Recommend for everyone who love or not love in arts. You will have a very best moment and experiences here.

exceptional museum! there were 3 exhibitions and all of them were super interesting. the pieces showcased there were all high quality, with no weaker works. I loved how each art piece was displayed in an unique way, emphasizing each artwork's colors. the curators really showed an amazing display of their skill with so many creative solutions. i'd spent 3 hours there and each minute was wonderful.

Great museum. 90 ntd for adults. Spacious, well maintained. Some temporary exhibition down the basement and on the third floor. Most of the artworks are modern ones. Some rooms are for local artists, which is super nice to see some aboriginal art. Also lots of green spaces around the museum. Can take the light rail to get here. Also a flea market nearby. Can spend half of your day in those neighborhood for sure

Don't go on a Monday! It's closed! Luckily got this tip from a local friend and so I went on Sunday and really enjoyed my visit. The museum itself is beautifully built and had a variety of exhibits when I visited. It wasn't overly crowded and the staff were all friendly and eager to help. There was always an English speaker nearby whenever needed. Plus, there was a cool little market with small businesses and artists outside the museum at the time of my visit.

Yelp
I am a tourist that seeks out art in every city on the planet, so my bar is high when it comes to the museum experience. Although dated a bit, if you are like me, absolutely stop by the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts (KMOFA) if you are in Kaohsiung. Just know the expectation. Although I am only giving it a 3 star review, it is one of the few options available to view art in the city (based on my personal hunt). There is no charge to visit. Let that maybe be a driving factor, if nothing else. The museum space itself is quite large, despite that the building is older in general. Galleries are super spacious and the museum could feature giant works, which I enjoyed walking and enveloping myself around. There are docents about, whom speak limited English, but smiled and present. Most information posted is in Chinese as well, not English, though this did not take away from my visit. The KMOFA sits on a larger public ground area with outdoor sculptural pieces as well and room to wander and sit (It was raining the day I was there, so I did not go outside at all and cannot speak to.). They had four open floors to view art and surprisingly two of the four floors were more contemporary in nature and I enjoyed very much. There is an information desk who helped me order a cab for my return trip to my hotel. There is also a small shop off the entrance with places to sit and enjoy a beverage or snack (no coffee or anything fancy). It doubles as the bookstore selling items as well. It is not large, nor extensive in the merchandise they carry. Despite only 3 stars because the space is dated and I see too many 5 Yelp Star high end art museums on the planet, I enjoyed my visit to KMOFA more than I expected to really.
