"Island's Best Empanadillas Kaplash is located on the curve of Road 115 as you head toward the town of Rincon. The little unassuming orange and blue building boasts a beautiful view of the ocean and—in the opinion of myself and others—the best empanadillas on the whole island. Kaplash was featured in an island-wide food photography book by a local writer who ventured to all the great known local spots. That's how I decided to try them, and I wasn't disappointed. They are now the only place I stop for empanadillas (turnovers) and the only place I take family and visiting friends. Try all of them—they specialize in seafood—but I can't get enough of the pizza one."

Great view, huge selection of empanadas, I had the shark $3.75 and the lasagna $3.25 and a mojito $8. Small mojito but very good. The view of the ocean is awesome!

The fried appetizers were tasty. Young people serve as wait staff and try their best to be attentive. The dining area reshapes according to flow of customer groups.

Google
The best empanadas on the island!! Plus a beautiful view of the ocean. Try their homemade hot sauce too! Delicious

Google
Food was amazing. Got to try shark for the first time today. The flan and mojitos also really really good. Price point was awesome, two adults with drinks and desserts. Awesome view of the ocean from the deck. Service was fine but not noteworthy. Food and drinks both came out quick which was great! If I'm ever back on the island in the area I'm definitely coming back, or if I know anyone heading this way it's a top recommendation.

Google
They have the best empanadilla's around! My favorite are the shrimp and my hubby's favorite are the steak and cheese. They're also reasonably priced. The staff are all very kind, especially Stacy. The ocean view from the patio is beautiful and also a great place to watch the gorgeous sunset. Just a tip... They'll hand you menus as you walk in. You seat yourself. You'll need to flag down a server to take your order and also to bring you your check when you're finished. You also pay at the bar.

The empanadillas are awesome, the beer was cold and the mojitos were delicious. Beautiful view of the water. Just wish they had a bigger menu

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Kaplash, and it's safe to say that this spot offers an unbeatable combination of great food, delicious drinks, and breathtaking ocean views. There's nothing quite like enjoying a meal while gazing out at the beautiful blue sea. The service at Kaplash was exceptional. The food arrived quickly, and the staff was attentive and friendly throughout our visit. Plus, the pricing is very affordable, making it a great option for a casual yet delightful dining experience. While the menu is limited, everything they serve is absolutely delicious. Kaplash is perfect for brunch, lunch, or late afternoon snacks. It's not the place for a full-blown three-course dinner, but it excels in what it offers. The empanadillas are a standout. I tried the Kaplash empanadillas, a delightful mix of various seafood, as well as the traditional pollo empanadilla. Both were perfectly cooked—not greasy, with just the right amount of crispiness and a generous filling of meat. They are literally the best empanadillas I've ever had. To accompany my meal, I had a Coco Mojito, which was both refreshing and generously poured. If this had been more than just a lunch stop, I could easily see myself sipping on several of these until sunset. Kaplash is a gem with its stunning ocean views, delectable food, and fantastic service. Whether you're in the mood for a quick snack or a leisurely brunch, this spot is definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
If you are looking for a place to try empanadas with different seafood fillings and fresh fried fish Kaplash is the place to go! My friend Nat used to go to Kaplash with her family as a child and said they had the best "empanadillas", so we made it a stop on our way to Ponce. There were so many empanada options that I had to order my top 3 picks. I ordered a shrimp one, a lasagna one, and de pizza. There were all good in their way, but the shrimp one was my favorite from Kaplash. Since we were by the sea I wanted fried fish and theirs was amazing! I ordered a side of fries to go with it. My friends wanted sorullos and "cheese balls", they served it all in a cute platter style. The stunning views, kind service, and the food make Kaplash a great stop while in Rincon.

Yelp
...every time I come to PR this is a must stop! This place has the best octopus salad I've had. It is fresh. The fritters and empanadillas are tasty. You cannot go wrong with any of their choices. The only "negative" thing I have to say about this last visit is that they did not have any local beer available. But the view is amazing. Eating some flavorful fritanga while watching the West Coast sunset: nothing is more tropical that this!
google avatar

Chaille K.

Yelp
Great spot for finger foods a drink along with a view!!! Sitting on the patio you have the ocean. Service here is quick and friendly. Recommend getting the octopus salad along with the fish soup! I believe everything on the menu is good. Just came by for quick snack.

Yelp
Great view, small but quaint area, so get some drinks and pastelillos! They specialize in seafood but do have pollo, beef, and other non seafood types. But if seafood is what you like, then this place has plenty to choose from. The dough is delicious on it's own but the filling makes the experience unico! Check it out!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food friendly staff! We come here everyone we are visiting Rincon. The ceviche is awesome!!

Yelp
My wife and I had a nice visit to Kaplash for lunch recently. This restaurant specializes in Seafood Empanadillas so we had to order a few. I tried the Kaplash and Camarones Empanadillas and they were delicious. Both had soft fresh baked shells which housed their fillings nicely. The Kaplash was a mix of different seafoods including flavorful marinated briny shredded fish and tender octopus. The Camarones was filled with flavorful tender shrimp. We also had Queso Frito as an appetizer. These cheese cubes were warm, rich and soft with a lightly crisp outside.

Yelp
Giving this place 3 stars because, we'll, it's not a restaurant. Here you can get pastelillos and other fried appetizers with the exception of 2 types of ceviche. The ceviche was good, but not worth the $16 price tag for the small portion you got. You want to stop somewhere to get a fried snack and a drink, this is your place. Looking for a place for you to grab lunch or dinner- this is not it.
google avatar

Elvin M.

Yelp
Great place to get pastellios!! I have a great affection for the food. Tonight we ordered to go and the service and food was great!! We came back to our home and the food was hot and fresh. When you come to visit Rincon Kaplash is a must visit it will not disappoint!!

Yelp
Lunch with sea view. From where you sit, you can look out to the sea without any obstruction. The food is decent. We order: 6oz lobster ($23ish), conch mofungo ($19), small sampler ($16ish) and fish ceviche ($10ish). Lobster is alright, conch is delicious, sampler is filling (cheese is not too great but everything else is fine). The FISH CEVICHE is absolutely yummy. Highly recommend! Total for 2 beers, 1 ceviche, 1 lobster, 1 regular sampler, 1 conch mofungo : $84ish.

Yelp
We visited with 5 people and ordered 12 pastelillos. Our two and a half year old got the cheese and ate it all saying it tasted just like grilled cheese. We ordered chicken with cheese, steak and cheese, steak, meat; guava, Mexican, and lasagna. All of them were delicious. My husband's favorite was the lasagna and he ordered it twice. We come to Rincon annually and he says he wants to eat there everyday we are in town.

Yelp
This is a great place for drinks and empanadillas (like fried dumplings). The place has great views and a great atmosphere. There's not a lot of parking but that's never been an issue. The perfect spot to rest and grab a bite to eat before entering Rincon (or after leaving it)

Yelp
For what it is, it's great. Cute little empanadilla/appetizer place right by the ocean, great views! A little disappointed because I got three empanadillas and was still hungry when I left, probably should've ordered more I guess. Service was good but relaxed, don't come here if you're in a rush. Also - stick with the seafood empandillas/appetizers, I made the mistake of getting a skirt steak and cheese one, it wasn't great, but the fish one was pretty good! Overall, I would come back maybe for a small snack or something, but not for a meal.

Veronica R.

Yelp
Is very humble place with an amazing view. Food is very traditional to what you find in Puerto Rico Cuisine (fresh fish and fried stuff). I rather go here than to the business near by. It has a more chill vibe. Sometimes service can take a while but that's normal in Puerto Rico. Great place to see the sunset too.

Yelp
This is a must stop every time I visit Rincon. I have been going there since I went to college in Mayagüez 20 years ago and it has stayed consistently delicious through the years. If you love octopus like I do, there is no better octopus in The whole island! Try it in the empanadillas or in the salad and it will not disappoint. The cheese balls are also a favorite appetizer. Honestly I bet everything in their menu is delicious. The restaurant has a fantastic view and it's always breezy.

Yelp
When in Puerto Rico's west side, you must stop here. Authentic Empanadas filled with seafood, chicken, beef, you name it. The view is simply amazing!

Yelp
Awesome food, awesome prices. Loving the fried cheese and "empanadas de pulpo". If you love seafood, this is the place between Rincón and Añasco. Bonus: Eat on the balcony... AMAZING VIEW!
google avatar

Sarnz E.

Yelp
Good food and reasonable prices, we wanted lobster salad but they were out so we got octopus salad instead and it was really good, we also had the jueyes(crab), mero(grouper) & shark empanadillas which were good and the Nutella frappe was yummy. The only thing was the soap dispenser in the women's restroom was broken so hopefully employees have access to soap and water in the kitchen....
google avatar

Yelp
This place is Just ok. Everything is deep fried. Empanadas of every kind imaginable. Not a very creative menu and not much fresh dishes available. Not farm to table by any means.

Tiffany L.

Yelp
The empanadas here were amazing. Great place to drink and eat fried goodies. Service was good. Coco mojito was to die for. Great view. Artwork is beautiful too. Worth a visit.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a must, every time we come to visit. The empanadillas are the best I've ever had. By far my favorite surtido. You should come on a weekday when it's not so busy and you won't regret it. Best to avoid coming on holidays and busy weekends.
google avatar

Raul N.

Yelp
Customer Service is downhill in the entire island, but this place need to understand the meaning of time. Do not say 15 minutes when this will take over 45 mins, specially with phone orders where there is a reason why you order to go.
google avatar

James M.

Yelp
I like this place a lot and have been many times. The empanadillas have a decent amount of filling, and are not just dough like at some places. There is outdoor seating and a nice view of Anasco bay. The staff is bi-lingual and provide a hospitable experience. You can eat like a local with friendly people in a relaxed environment.
google avatar

Jen H.

Yelp
My favorite place to eat some fresh seafood. But beware they are always busy and sometimes is better to order ahead of time.
google avatar

Sean C.

Yelp
Known for the empanadas. And they should be. They are fresh and delicious. Also had the tostones. Small and perfect. Served with the sauce which is essentially ketchup and mayo. One thing I always find annoying is when there is Coke on the menu, but they don't serve Coke. I know it's odd, but Coke isn't the general term for soda for me. And Pepsi is barely soda. Anyway, the waitress is nice. The view is amazing. It's a bit run down and parking is horrible. But if you like good "fast" Puerto Rican/Dominican food, this is the place to be. Oh and while you are there, ask for the fruit juice. It's memorable.

Yelp
We had the lobster, chicken and pizza patties which were all served fresh and hot. Patties were delicious and not greasy to the touch like most competitors serve. The meat patties were also not the biggest so 2 or 3 are needed to tackle the average appetite, (hungry kids included). Their fried plantain appetizers were also served hot and accompanied the meat patties well. Service was ok but up to par. Nothing fancy here but the split level ocean view was pretty intense. Convenient parking was a coin toss but manageable. Overall very good Puerto Rican soul food and definitely worth the visit.

Yelp
Every time I visit Rincon Puerto Rico we always come to Kaplash. Had all the different fillings of empanadillas and loved them all. Also had the surtido, very good. This place is a must to visit when you're in Rincon..

Yelp
Delicious empanadillas! Perfect after a long day at the beach. The view is amazing and the staff was so nice! Can't wait to come back here.

Yelp
I had empandillas shrimp and lobster and OK cola Champagne. The cola tastedike bubble gum. Simple lunch but a beautiful view. Service isn't the quickest but expected since it is island... Everything is very laid back.

Yelp
I went here on a recommendation from my aunt and cousin so I had high hopes to taste some good local empanadas. Mind you, I was born and lived on the east side of PR til I was 8 so I consider myself to have a small taste for the PR style. As you walk in, BOOM, the amazing and I mean amazing view of the skyline makes you forget why you even came. We tried the combination (kaplash), chicken, beef and pizza empanadas. These aren't your typical flat large empanadas and they're all more less made with a tomato based sauce which I thought took away from the meatyness of them, plus I didn't like the taste of the sauce. The pizza one just didn't taste right, I think they used salami or something like that which didn't make it enjoyable. They all left a strange pasty residue after, except the beef one. I thought the beef one was really good as it didn't seem to use that tomato sauce. I'm not sure whether the different style is the Dominican side of it, but definitely not what I'm used to in PR or even in Miami where I currently live.

Yelp
Awesome joint! Have been stopping here since 2001 whenever we go to this side of the island. Service is excellent and taste is exceptional - fried pastries filled with your choice of seafood including shark & grouper or (for those less daring) chicken or beef at very reasonable prices. our favorites are the Kaplash (seafood mix) and mero. Delicious with an awesome lookout over the ocean from the first or second floor. Great way to pass an evening after a day at the beach!
google avatar

Jose B.

Yelp
Excellent empanadas, simply the best. The view is also amazing. The empanada de jueyes is to die for! One star off for really slow service. Almost had to beg to get another drink.
google avatar

Brandon L.

Yelp
Visited the one at Añasco and it was beautiful! Great view and great food. Tried an empanadilla de pulpo (Octopus), Bolitas de queso (cheeseballs) and a piña colada. They were all great but a good price but nothing beat the view. Best pulpo I've had, ever.
google avatar

Alexander R.

Yelp
The place has a nice view and it is a small and quaint space. The empanadas were really good, especially the octopus one. It's a nice place to eat a beer and a variety of empanadas for lunch. The price was fair.
google avatar

Jessica B.

Yelp
This spot was recommended to us by a local, so we figured we had to go try it. Great empanadas (I recommend the Kaplash and shark) with a nice tomato-based homemade sauce for all the empanadas. But then again -- you can get empanadas absolutely anywhere, sooooo...was it worth driving here just for them? Nope. But the view is stunning and it's in a little spot with a few other restaurants, so why not bar hop through if you're passing by?
google avatar

Bunker T.

Yelp
Stopped in for empanadillas and tostones. Everything was great, and the service was fine. Pina coladas, cheese balls, all good.. Hard to beat the prices or the view.
google avatar

Mariano B.

Yelp
Simply loved it. Shark empanadillas, cheese, octopus... All together with a great Medalla.
google avatar

Itzarelis A.

Yelp
They are certainly very freshly made Empanadillas. But what is worth the trip is definitely the view from the second floor. Do try the Kaplash Empanadilla is all the seafood in the world encased inside one steamy good pastry.
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
kasplash not best empanadas are in the heart of rincon kasplash is a zero

Yelp
THE Best empanadillas in the West side of the island....And the view is amazing, well worth it!

Ashley C.

Yelp
Amazing view, especially if you go up the rickety looking stairs. Also...best empanadillas around. So delicious!

Tiara D.

Yelp
This place is the BEST!!!!! I'm from Chicago, IL. Born and raised in Humbolt park. I'm going to be 24 years old and i can say no body has beat Kaplash in my book. Everytime I go to Puerto Rico, stop there is a MUST!
