My review will be about the cafe near the palace. I really liked the food, everything is fresh, the coffee is delicious, the staff is nice and fast. I highly recommend it. The prices are shown in the photo. For two of us it was 600 kron/about 60€, 2 main courses, 2 cappuccinos and 1 dessert.

Wasn’t expecting much, just wanted something that was close (after the palace and walking around the gardens) but it ended up being surprisingly good! We both got the AVOCADO SMASH- thinking it was going to be small. Pretty good size portion and very tasty!

Good restaurant. Nothing to blow your mind off. Great option to eat before/after visiting the palace.

It was quite expensive, but it was delicious. Sadly, we had three wasps attacking us and the people around us, people panicking in Spanish and Italian, my neck oddly stiff, and the staff saw them and just considered it normal. They would go for people's meat, and follow the staff as they carried the carts with the empty trays, and I can only assume it was not a random occurrence. I should have suspected when I went to order and one "bee" passed by and the worker chuckled. I loved the food, but I had to run to eat it and get away before it got worse.

Very delicious meatballs! Enjoyed the dish. Tried the seafood gratin - wouldn’t recommend, the fish and mash potatoes don’t go too well. Overpriced coffee but average taste. Staff and service was good, it’s nice place to get a rest after a visit in the palace area

A Festive Julbord Experience at Karamellan Café Our group of four adults and one child had the pleasure of enjoying a julbord dinner at Karamellan Café, and it was an absolute hit, especially for our Dutch friend, who was experiencing a Swedish julbord for the first time. From the moment we walked in, the warmth and festive atmosphere set the tone for the evening. We were welcomed with a choice of glögg, either with or without alcohol—a comforting and quintessentially Swedish start to the meal. The buffet spread was nothing short of incredible. It featured a wide variety of delicious dishes, ensuring there was something for everyone. The selection catered to various dietary needs, offering vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. This traditional julbord spread beautifully captured the essence of Swedish holiday culture, and it was wonderful to see our Dutch friend embrace the experience and thoroughly enjoy the authentic flavors of a Swedish Christmas feast and our little fellow enjoying all the sweets. The service was flawless. The waitresses were attentive and friendly, always on hand to clear plates, offer drinks or coffee, and ensure we had everything we needed. Their efficiency and warmth added to the overall charm of the evening. The atmosphere was lovely and festive, with many guests dressed in their Christmas attire, adding to the holiday spirit. Our julbord table was reserved from 16:00 to 19:00, allowing us plenty of time to enjoy the meal and soak in the cozy ambiance. This julbord dinner was a seasonal offering from 22 November to 22 December, making it a limited-time treat that perfectly captured the magic of the holiday season. Karamellan Café provided a truly memorable dining experience that we will cherish. Whether you’re craving an authentic julbord, looking for a place to host a company Christmas party, or introducing someone to the tradition of Swedish julbord, this is the place to be.

A touristy cafe next to the Palace, so expect touristy price and crowd during peak season. We visited during the morning and only tried their fish soup and iced latte, with the fish soup far exceeding expectations. It was not only substantial, but came with generous amount of seafood such as mussels, clams, shrimps and fish meat. Enough for two people to share. The service was also warm and friendly, though you'll have to order at the counter. Our only gripe was the bees flying around you, which may not be up for the restaurant to control, but would still disrupt the eating experience. There are both indoor and outdoor seating, so it's up to you to decide. Not a bad place for a meal if there's no crowd, though we do not know how's the standard like with crowd.

Yelp
Nice staff. Can eat inside or outside. There are umbrellas at the tables. Good variety of food and beverage. Relaxing environment. They have GREAT Swedish meatballs.

Yelp
Normally one can see why a place is pricey by either the good food, service or setting, this place does not have good quality offerings, service can not be complemented either. It is situated in a lovely park area. The only reason for the price must be that it is right next to Drottningholms Slott. One attraction after walking the park grounds of the castle would be the clean toilet facilities although I doubt the establishment maintains these toilets.

Yelp
I see that previous ratings are pretty bad but I can't see why. I have been to the place a couple of times and they offer some really good sandwiches, cakes etc. I haven't tried the meals yet but the range appears to be good and what they offer appeals to me. It has also been very neat and clean every time but I haven't been there when it's really busy so maybe that's why. I can certainly recommend a visit!
