The Good:|First up, our visit to Karijini National Park was one of the highlights of our road trip in WA. The park is spectacular; a really beautiful wilderness area. |,The Eco retreat is generally very good. There is a number of accommodation options available. We had a “deluxe” tent which was very well appointed, with electricity, ensuite, king size bed, electric blanket (one side didn't work) and the view from the front door was magic. |No WiFi, mobile phone coverage or TV. - no surprises here.|The walks (hikes) are structured for all fitness levels and are a must on your visit. ||The Not So Good:|The central public facilities of the retreat include reception for checking in, a bar and restaurant and takeaway food as well, such as burgers and the like.|The check in staff were not particularly friendly. |From our point of view, the public amenities are not up to scratch. There is no casual sitting areas where you can enjoy a drink from the bar (a few outdoor tables). If you book a table in the restaurant, you can’t order say, a Chicken Burger from their take away menu; you must choose from the restaurant menu, which I didn't find very exciting. |The retreat is an expensive place to visit. For $550 a night, they include a very poor and miserable continental breakfast, probably the worst breakfast I have encountered. If you want a hot breakfast you have to pay extra, with no allowance being made for the cost of the Continental breakfast already paid for in your accommodation.|And finally, some of the staff are just unfriendly and not particularly helpful.||Overall I have given this a rating of 'Good' - only because of the National Park itself, which is a real gem.
